I know I'm very late to the game, but after a 6 year hiatus from all things Macross, I finally decided to get myself some Bandai DX VF-1 this in the past month. 😅

    Got VF-1S Hikaru + Strike Parts + missile set, VF-1D, VF-1A Kakizaki and VF-1J Hikaru + GBP-1S Armor.

Really nice toys. My only complaint is the way the arms and legs peg into the toy in fighter mode is not really secure enough with the Super/Strike Parts installed.

I read about this long ago on Jenius reviews.

With a little fiddling I was able to push the arm pegs almost all the way.

The leg pegs seems won't go all way in.

The thing is you have to push the arms up keeping pressure on the backpack. It doesn't require a lot of force. But should be done with care.

How is Nin-nin? I'm always to tempted to try them, but came across a few stories of them listing items they actually don't have stock, and then the buyer is either stuck with a long refund process or a voucher.

Legit. My first preorder with them went smooth.

If you are ordering this weekend have a bit of patience for any reply from them. Japan is closed by the Obon festival

Funny, I definitely got charged for my HLJ order.. but it's yet to make it to my warehouse for shipping, it's been in processing over a day now.

Not in a rush, since I'm waiting for other things to come out before I ship, but still weird to see them take that long.

Mine popped in my warehouse this morning.

But I also have a preirdered t-shirt that released last weekend, not charged yet, but already shows as discontinued.

Seems it is taking them some time to process orders.

Just catching up with the latest pictures and this to me doesn't seem like great engineering.

For something that will probably be around 250€ in price I would expect better range for leg/hip articulation and not having to worry about denting or scraping bits on the toy.

Look pretty much like the system used in the Yamato VF-19s. The swing bar catches the leg on the back side (upper part) of the intake and has a rotation point also.

For comparison though.. the current conversion puts that at about $350.  Maybe my sense of value has inflated with the times, but that doesn't even seem that outrageous to me.

You won't find one for anything close to that on ebay, but a quick check on Mandarake shows one copy of the VF-1S for 38,000 yen, and a previously sold set of packs for 11,000, so that's almost even.

I'm not going to pay that much for a fixed tail marking and some clear plastic parts I would never use, but I have no idea how difficult these will be to get through any of the usual sources, if they're even available.  I have no idea how this lottery is going to work.

At the star of the year I was lucky to get a hand on a pre-owned one at mandarake. Thanks to the yen-peso exchange rate I almost paid the same amount that I paid for a Roy VF-1S (that lucky showed up at HLJ afert the first orders sold out).

I just wonder if only include the clear pieces or also the solid color ones.

I think I agree with that...sort of like the vf-1 battroids arms and the rotating hands come out, but reversed for the feet
that looks like a hinge at the top

If that is the case on the other side of the same pic you can see where that parts is supposed to rotate.

What I'm seeing is that the lower part of the legs seems a bit short to me. I might be with the purpose of accommodating tha lower part inside the upper part.

  8. Have somebody noticed that the neck cover for fighter mode now seems not to be integrated to the shield?

The tabs (?) look very much different.

  9.  At less the fold booster should be in since it is one of the main features in the anime.

I don't really mind about the payload since the YF-19 was never animated using that kind of weapons.

Can you guys remind me if it’s normal for the tail fins be this high up. I feel like it’s sitting too high but I can see no obvious way to lower it. And yes I already slide the backpack back.
