  1. That second link didn't seem to lead anywhere but that first one was very helpful. I never really understood the other panel lining method before so it was nice to see a video of it. Only question I have is he mentions several times that wash method works better after you have clear coated it... I have heard this said many times but what exactly does it mean and how is that one done? (I figure I'll get better answers from the people here than google...)
  2. Like I said I'm not hardcore or experiences enough to do that. I have built many snap models before, but rarely do I sticker (but I will definitely do so for this) and I have never panel lined. Using a marker sounds easier than this other method beside the fact I have no idea how to do that other method. Compared to most model builders I suppose I am a novice despite having built a lot of snap fit models before.
  3. Oh I am willing to commit the time to panel lining. I just can't find the marker for it! The ebay page helps but I try to find anything I can from elsewhere than ebay, most because I never set up an account and it is easier that way. I may just try to look at a hobby store around town.
  4. I don't even know how to clear coat... but as my luck would have it, gundamstoreandmore.com also list GM02 as sold out... so I don't know anymore. I've seen pictures with just stickers and no panel lining and it looks ok... but I was really into the idea of panel lining this one.
  5. Then it sounds even more so than a PSP could be useful to me. Perhaps I will look out for an older cheaper model, perhaps used, doesn't bother me. I have no reason to go with the latest stuff.
  6. I'm no hardcore model builder, I don't know anything about this clear coating stuff. I just want to build it, and I want it too look good so I am panel lining and stickering it. However thanks for pointing out the other store.
  7. I just got my VF-25S but I am not building it until I go home after the end of my semester (which is later next week so I don't have to wait too long). I was planning to get this gundam marker from HLJ for panel lining as it was recommended: http://www.hlj.com/product/GNZGM02 , but as you can see it is now on back order, but this: http://www.hlj.com/product/GNZGM21 looks very close to it and I might get this instead. What I want to ask if anyone knows, is whether or not there is a difference between the two and if so which would be better for the Ozma kit? I plan to panel line and use stickers, as have no experience with decals and I don't want to mess anything up on this kit. I want to panel line the parts before building but is it better to panel line on the sprue or off? I don't want to mix up the parts and not know which is which when building. Also I know the stickers should be done after building but I am curious as to what people have done about the horns on the skull leader insignia since they go over hinges.
  8. That makes me wonder, is it possible to play the iso for VFX2 on like a playstation 3 in a similar manner. I figure PS3 would be the only one that could do that and since it is backwards compatible with PS1 it sounds plausible. However VFX2 is probably not that expensive to actually buy so I doubt it would matter....
  9. With this in mind I might look into getting a PSP someday, but for Christmas is unlikely as money is something I have to watch right now. I just got an Ozma 1/72 model and I plan to get a Michel 1/60 DX in March, those combined with Christmas stuff in general makes me need to watch money. I guess the 2000 and 3000 are the newer ones... Noted though, if I plan to do any modding, I will ask you wolfx since you seem to know how to do it, or at least explain it.
  10. I don't know this stuff because I don't own one though. Doesn't matter though, not likely I can do anything since my friend doesn't seem to know where his is. I was already sold that I wouldn't be able to play the game but when I found the iso I thought it might be possible, oh well.
  11. I might be in luck since my friend has an older model I believe, but I don't know. I don't even know what the memory sticks look like or how I would interface them to the computer... unless the PSP uses a memory format that is similar to a capture card or an SD card.
  12. So, how then can I get the iso onto a memory stick for PSP? I don't know anything about it, but I have a friend with a PSP, so I could use his perhaps.
  13. Before anyone says something, I don't own a PSP nor do I want to spend the money to buy one. I found the iso for Macross Ace Frontier though but I can't find any PSP emulators that actually play any games... but if there is an iso for the game out, there must be at least one emulator out there that can play it. I don't know if anyone here can help but if you know something, please let me know, help is appreciated.
  14. That is a good comparison picture, easy to see some of the problems.... though I will note that such problems don't really bother me that much. However I don't plan to get the 1/60 Ozma so it doesn't bother me that much more, I just want the 1/60 Michael.
  15. Not likely considering Frontier has finished its run. However there is still a movie... we just don't know if it will be a DYRL style remake or something new yet.
  16. You crushed the valk or the little pilot that is supposed to be Alto? If the latter, you know this wouldn't happen to Ozma... cause he's a MAN!! (couldn't resist). Thank you for notifying.. I have placed an order, 20% was too good to pass on. I was going to wait a while on HLJ, but that is good price.
  17. I was being a bit coy, but I did mean in this thread, yes.
  18. On the contrary, I don't believe anyone was really talking about spiritia... just got mentioned once.
  19. There was no magic or psychic powers, the 'light shows' as they were called was just the song energy form Dr. Chiba's Song Energy Converter technology and the sound boosters which amplified sound energy. I think there is some merit to the though that the power of song can be really powerful, but they may overstate it a bit in the show. However I might be biased since I ended up really liking Fire Bomber music and I wasn't bothered by hearing some of those songs repeated a lot.
  20. You have to give Macross 7 at least 5 to 10 episodes before beginning to judge it. Preconceptions and judging the first episode aren't enough. I didn't like the idea at first, and the first episode did not help it grow on me... but as I continued I really got into it, I've watched all of it now (even The Encore, movie, and Dynamite 7) and I think it is pretty good.
  21. You know before watching M7, I didn't think I'd like it at all, and the first episode left me with some of the same impressions as you, but I watched more and I really got into it, now I can say I actually do like Macross 7. I am also a Fire Bomber fan now too. I agree btw, Gigil's death scene was saddening, went out singing though, and My Soul for You is a good song for that.
  22. I've seen the prologue clip before, but my downloaded copy on DYRL doesn't include it, are there certain versions that have it? This will probably be closed soon though since it should be in the newbie question thread I bet.
  23. Considering the G and RVF seem to come with stands, landing gear no longer bothers me. I am really looking forward to the 25G now. 16000 Yen... that is a lot.. for me.. but I can muster it, and by March it won't be that bad for me.
  24. I agree, I was planning to wait on the 25G for the DX anyway, so this makes me really happy. That just looks beautiful compared to what we have seen. I hope this means the others were transformed or posed wrong or something. It could also be the application of fast packs that makes it look nice, but I like the super parts on the 25G anyway so it doesn't bother me. Does anyone know if the 25G will cost more since it comes with the FP? How much maybe? Also does it have a planned release date or is it still set for early 2009?
