  1. Pre-order very soon!! Check often- by Mr.K!!!
  2. Very Nice!! yeah. Poor Guld...
  3. Urrrgggg.. I hate moving.. So many stuff require careful packaging/boxing. SDF-1 is now back in the original box (slightly modified). Did I say I hate moving? Also now I realized how Yamato boxes are bigger than it should be. (compare to Bandai boxes) And Yes. I hate moving......Aaaarrrggggg!!!
  4. Sorry guys. I've been busy with work crunch.. Another bad news is that I'm preparing for moving to Northern California. Boxing up stuff these days. I still might be able to do a mini update this weekend.
  5. Thanks! Thank you for nice comments! Oh not just yet! I see... removing parts....That's not 'perfect' transformation then!! It's nice idea, but you won't see it when it's covered by heat-shield.. For the cockpit area, only thing left for me is adding some PE parts and finishing the canopy. Oh, By the way.. no update this weekend. I'll be on a family trip..
  6. Wasn't that Osamu Tezuka Museum flooded during last Tsunami?
  7. That's a very cool way of displaying Valkyries!!!
  8. I checked the clearance before making the modification, so it's safe I'm also gonna add magnets for Gun-pod attachment - both on Arms and Hands so that I can just attach/detach it in Fighter mode. Laser!!?? 3D printed!!!??? What age are you living in!!! Such nonsense!!! They are all hand-cut/screwed!! Seriously, I'm planning to get a Formlabs 3D printer soon (after my moving). Things will be very different once I get it. Thank you. Trying my best. . ...you are joking..right..? That cockpit then needs whole different control HUD!!! Clearance is good for landing gear/gun-pod. No worries. Yeah. I spent half day working on the 2 joint fingers.. Now I have 1/6 Freddy krueger Hands Yup. That's a modified 1/100 hobby base (hard-edge version) Thanks for the tip. I saw a couple of different thread about it as well. I'll be extra careful with those areas. I'll apply extra layers resin coating, or sand it down to lessen the friction, or use metal sheets. It seems like clear resin coating will do the job for the most parts.
  9. But that ugly kid started the Yamato Macross saga!!
  10. Another slow week thanks to some family events.. Original plan was to use 'Hobby Base' Hands, but I realized that VF-1s have 2 joint fingers... So I tried to make 2 Joint fingers version... FAILED!! Just too small for hand-made parts. It worked, but didn't look nice. So.. I gave up and went back to 'Hobby Base' Hands. I'll just paint the middle joint black and pretend it's 2 jointed.. Also, extended the lower arm parts for better proportion in Battroid mode. Quick Assembly test of lower arm (WIP) and comparison shot with the original (with broken shoulder hinge..) Made 1 more shoulder hinge set to repair other one (pictured above...) And made a quick and dirty coating test subject with old Hasegawa parts and tried Duracoat. This is 2 layer thin coat, and it looks like it will hold up pretty well. Went through Scratch test, Parts friction test..etc. All seems pretty good. Even decals were holding up well under the coat. I still would not use this over large decal area. Only thing didn't pass was bend test. After all, it's a thin layer of clear resin. It didn't fall apart, but I heard some cracking noise. I think it's much much better than Acrylic coat (such as Mr. Hobby or Tamiya coat) I will do more testing as I go.
  11. I love Low-Vis scheme, but it's better for 1J. I think I'll save it for the 2nd one. Maybe I can add some design twist also for that one.
  12. the negative CAD image was kinda hard to see. so inverted!
  13. That original head is just horrible!!! Overall mechanism is amazing. It's too bad the it has child body proportion...
  14. He said he did 'some' work on the head only. More details in the magazine?
  15. Heck yeah!!!!!!! Now my old one will be on my hack/experiment table for my next project!!
  16. Added description on the last pics.. There supposed to be suspension!!?? Only if I knew... Don't worry! It's totally under control!!! (I hope..) For hip extension, I'll have to look into it. I wasn't planning on it, but sounds do-able. For the cover part, I'll Probably just make a colored resin/plastic copy instead of tinting. That sounds more solid. I might use tinting techniques for something else. I'll fly to japan just to see that if that happens. You know they have full scale vf-25 cockpit/torso in exhibition
  17. Very clean build! Love it!!
  18. It's new bandai 1/72 kit Thread over here
  19. Roy & Super Parts pre-order up at Amiami. Still not liking the details / proportion. I'm gonna get 1 set and see what else they do with the rest.. They also updated the box art image for hikaru
  20. Sorry to hear that. That's one of the reasons i stopped using them.. I hope you are one of the early 10% orders..
  21. Oh! Thanks for the info! I also received a test color and clear coat for testing, but haven't tried it yet. Will do a test next week and post the result here. Just a little bit of oil and fuel stain here and there+ minor paint scratches. Not like Yamato weathering version. --------------------- This weekend's summary.. Well I watched 2 movies! How about that.. For the project, it's slow as usual. I'll just post the images now and edit/add description tomorrow..(now added ) -------------------- This side thrust nozzle design and size doesn't seem set in stone. Sometimes it's smaller and placed under the wing base, but sometimes it's larger and overlaps with the wing base. For the design, I think it looks better when it's larger and overlapped. So, I copied the original part and added wider base + some detailing. Now I'll need to cut out the underside wing-base to fit this in. Also re-worked the top side of foot metal parts for better fit and smoother motion. This took me a whole day.. I tried 2 different method i thought would work, but the rotation and the actuator cylinder length didn't work out. So I ended up adding a shift on the top. Now it works with piston action and all! Also added circle marks on the wheel side. I had to loose the torque links thou. I'll find a way to put them back. I've been thinking about how to strengthen the weak shoulder hinge. Well, nothing works better than metal for this! Added metal backing inside the weak hinge cover and fixed it with 4 screws! Also added metal rod inside the ball joint connection. I think it's good now. I only need to make 3 more to fix my other broken shoulders... That's all for this weekend.
  22. Wait a sec. Are you running the Hobbyfan by any chance?
  23. Hmmm.. I don't think I had that option back then. Anyways, Good luck!~
