Yeah, I’d prefer to call the Toynami an arthritic horse with glass for bones that can barely hold a pose and will collapse into a brittle heap at the slightest breeze.

... That too.  Aesthetically, especially for its time, it's not too bad at all, but it was clearly an overly ambitious amateur effort by an amateur company being run by amateurs and overseen by litigious amateurs.

  2. Finally got around to unboxing and transforming my Iota... never tried with the previous two and they remain is fighter mode; it's a fiddly little beast but between scorchedearthtoys on YouTube and the instructions manual, I was able to all-thumbs my way through it.  And you can't argue with the results.  I also found that I rather like the green; its nowhere near as saturated and "overly green" in person as pictures make out to be; I still somewhat prefer Toynami's choice of a more militaristic Army Green (looks close to FS34102), but Sentinel's is far more anime-esque; and not owning an old Gaken, or Aoshima, or CMS's, or Evolution version to compare in person, I can't say which looks better color-wise.

One thing is for damned sure, the old toynami is a heavy, unwieldy, barely poseable gorilla by comparison.

  3. I just received a shipping notification as well, same estimated ETA.  I guess they overcame the -- very minor -- delay they reported on their last email, and actually got stuff out ahead of schedule... sweet!

Seems so, Vicious and Spike didn't sell too well and they didn't receive super positive reviews. I think Bandai messed up releasing Vicious after Spike, should've been Faye after Spike, then more crew members.

Yeah... Faye after Spike would've been a no brainer to anyone familiar with the show and endowed with a modicum of common sense as to what sells; she's an even more popular character, for obvious reasons, than than the protagonist.  Vicious and Julia should've come after, with Jet and Edward (with Ein) to finish out the cast.

Man these Gijoe figures are looking great! I wanna get one or two, but you know how the rabbit hole gets deep really quickly.

BTW, this might be small enough to be considered a toy.

Congrats!  I've had a 2000 since 05 and it has never failed to put a smile on my face with how obscenely fun these glorified go-carts are to throw around roads of all kinds... especially twisty ones.

  6. Well, Luna Park came through and -- squeaky wheel syndrome or not -- I just received my DX 1D copy today, but, although mine was shipped with the outer Tamashi box, I still got a bit DHLled with some minimal to minor corner damage.

If items such as this are to be shipped without a dedicated shipping box and proper packing material, then I suggest that Luna Park take a page from Kitz Concept and look into using something like these plastic corner protectors:

Overall, this damage is not outrageous and I can live with it as the goods inside are in pristine condition; certainly not enough to raise a stink and go through the headache to send it back for replacement or refund...  And the toys are glorious!

  7. Emailed Luna Park yesterday and got a response within hours assuring me that my DX was confirmed to be going out by Monday or Tuesday of this upcoming week; I intend to hold them to that promise.  If nothing happens by Thursday, I'm demanding shipment or refund.

So you have not replied to them in those 19 days?   I must have sent at least half a dozen emails to them since they "created the label"....My last message to them was to "ship it or refund it"...next thing you know it was on it's way.....so either they blinked, the timing was uncanny, or they actually had not received all of their stock yet and were stalling....in either case, they have very poor communications....I never received the excuse about the "olympics", so not sure if that is true or why it would even be an issue.......although I am glad they came through with my item, I am not sure if I feel risking giving them another chance

You're right, I should send them a strongly worded message ASAP, but I was trying to exercise some patience - no more.  I did send them a message originally which prompted them to send me the tracking label BS email with their boilerplate excuse for their delay, but that was, as I've stated, 19 days ago.  Thank you for the kick in the pants I needed... patience is for suckers!  Either way, they have forever burned that bridge.

  9. I'm sure I'll get some lame admonition about patience and the virtues of deferred gratification from an old Gene Wilder movie, but 19 days and counting since Luna Park sent me an email with tracking notification, which was to nothing more than a label being generated with DHL, and nothing, not even a courtesy message to keep me in the loop.  I'm beginning to think that I will never see my copy and my money is gone, and I reenfacize my statement that this was my first and last dealings with this particular vendor.

  10. 8 days since Luna Park generated a shipping label with DHL and they still haven't handed my DX 1D for shipment, and no communication to update on the status of my purchase.  This was the 1st time I ever placed an order with this seller, and it will most certainly be the last!

  11. Maybe make some accommodation for the addition of standard sized, say 1/4 x 1/16" cylindrical or 1/4" x 1/16" square - in pairs if possible, neodymium magnets to make the container pods routine detachable... it's something I plan to do regardless., but preexisting recesses would make things easier.  Just a thought. :drinks:

  12. Well, I'll be... it turns out, apparently, that my concerns were premature; after posting here, I sent Luna Park an email politely inquiring about a ballpark estimate on when my copy would be shipping, and I got a response within hours, and a subsequent email with tracking info confirming it is being shipped. :yahoo:

    Hi guys,

I haven't been in MOSPEADA mode for a while, but I've been seriously thinking about a 1/350 Horizont to go with the previously released Garfish. Just casually passing that info along. ^_^
