  1. Hey man good to see you finished it. There is a slight sheen to the kit. Is that just the pics or a look you were after? Also what do you mean by "TV style ducting in the feet"? Berttt
  2. Hey man you won't look back once you have made the swap. I would try and track down your local modelling mob (Ithink they even have a website) for some help if needed.
  3. Thanks fellas NB4M Yes yes and yes. As soon as the SD is done I'll be back to the monster and will keep at it until at least the fet are done. That will be in a month or so.
  4. Okay so here are some fast and dirty snaps of the kits I have been working on instead of the monster. First up is Dragon's 1/35 scale Pz.IV Ausf D made up of about a million pieces and done up in 21st Panzer Division colors when they were in Tunisia. This kit had been on my bench sine January 2007. Second up is a Tamiya 1/48 Panther G in a 3 colour scheme. On the bench since september. Wave 1/72 scale Jigabachi. I started this the day I finished work last year as I have a tradition where I start a kit with the intention of finishing it before I go back to work the following year. This is the first time I have managed it. This is an awaesome if expensive kit and I finished it in 5 days over 7 hours. Lastly the Revell AG Rebuplic Star Destroyer - and destroyer of modelling plans. A mate got one of these and it hooked me into getting one as well. It is currently sucking up a lot of time and is filled fibre optic and LEDs. I would say it is about a month off being finished, and unfortunately for the monster I am not working on anyhting else until it is done. So a neat little amount of kits off my bench considering I was only off work for 3 weeks and lost over a week of that to family and other commitments. Though I just realised I don't have any of the Sulaco I rebuilt as well. With that lot out of the way I only have a GiTS Lancia Stratos, Regult Scout, VF-11 and SdKfz 234/3 left on my bench - besides the Monster of course Cheers, Berttt
  5. What's the word on when these should be arriving John?
  6. Nice work on the figs Cowie. Just for you I'll bring some minis along if I manage to get to the Con in May.
  7. Not yet. I'll post some pics over the next couple of days. Though now it looks like I won't get the SD finished before I head back to work, it should only take a couple of weeks after that though.
  8. Sorry about the lack of updates lads but I have been clearing the decks. So far I have finished a 1/35 Pz.IV D that has been sitting on my bench for a couple of years, as well as a rebuilt Sulaco, a 1/48 Panther G plus I started and finished Wave's Jigabachi. A mate of mne bought a Revell Venator SD and after seeing it I decided to get one myself as a lighting project. As things stand I am about 30% done but should have it finished by the 12th (when I go back to work). After theat I will get back to the Monster - I promise
  9. Good idea, but why not try a different shape radar array to the usual circular one. Like this new one from Boeing:
  10. yep, even the horrid little 1/100's look good with a bit of work - see Cowie's build.
  11. Nice, and SSM/Captain america colaboration. A sign of good things. BTW will John be stocking any of these in the SSM store?
  12. Ah sorry to hear. Though there is still a chance Mike may do a second run. No updates lately as I have to make some room on the bench for this thing, so I am finishing off a couple of kits
  13. I have found recently that I need to walk away from a building session wanting more. When I walk away becuase I have had enough it will be ages before I get back to it, but I walk away wanting more I'll be back in the shed the next day
  14. Your really speeding along on this one Sean Just a quick thought on the design: While I love the VE-1 (who doesn't love an airplane with heaps of crap hanging off it) what is the need for a variable AWACS??
  15. Sorry John, it was the first thing I thought of when I pictured a John Moscato Fugure packaged in a plastic blister
  16. Hey nice work there dude - looks like she's fresh from the factory
  17. LOL complete with accesories like milling machine, casting supplies and 1/6 scale cottage cheese sorting trays
  18. mmm seems nice for brush painting. I have noticced that even if you do get some brush amrks they can be hidden by a gloss oat afterwards.
  19. I'd put it down to line art interpretation. The kit is what it is. What's up Sean you sound a bit cranky
  20. I had a close look at your OC parts and they defnitely are based of Imai bits. The legs from the intakes down are very obvious, though the FAST pack and intake sections are definitely new. Still asfar as the basic shape is concerned it is an improvement. Also you have no idea what I would give for a copy of that nose (or maybe I should get off my arse and get mine casted up for a start) Cheers, Berttt P.S. After reading this thread I so want to get out into the garage and dig out my old Gerwalk conversion project!
  21. nice. Are the orange collection kits a prgression on the old Bandia/Imai 1/7'2's?
  22. Ah there we go! Hey nice work man, lamsot looks like a paint job for a Touring car racer
