Hi, I'm an old Macross fan and modeler.

Over the last few years I've made some kits on and off, most recently vinyl Godzilla kits. ()

Since my son was working on his first model airplane (an SU-27), it inspired me to work alongside him. I decided to get out this AMX-011S "Zaku-III Custom" that my brother-in-law gave to me last year. We were working at the dining room table and I was reluctant to get out my airbrush, so I just slapped the Zaku together and did some dry-brush weathering on it. No putty, nothing. (Nice seams, eh?) These Bandai kits can be fun even if you don't get too worked up about them!

Here are a couple of pictures. I Photoshopped in some scenery in two of the pics. I hope you enjoy them.

Sometime soon I'll take pictures of my old Bandai Macross built kits and post those over in the Macross model kit forum. Also maybe I'll put up a couple of my Godzillas here...

It looks great.

I'd like to see a rendering without so much ambient light though; maybe even with only a single directional light source (or two; like the sun and a reflected light from a planet) and internal or self-projected mini spot lighting... :-) There isn't that much light in space.

Hi, this is my first (second) post. I'm an old Macross fan and recently stumbled onto this forum after pulling out some old model kits. :-)

Since there was a review of Flashback 2012, I thought I'd post a couple of my questions that popped up. I'm a little bit confused about part of the content in the last segment of this video. I just watched it again for the first time in something like 10 years (also watched DYRL, and am almost finished with the series). I wonder what others think about this.

There are the following scenes in order (I left out the non-Minmay scenes):

- Older Minmay (black hat) on an empty stage remembering...

- Young-ish Minmay giving final concert after the war

- (Young pre-series) Minmay leaving home

- * Young-ish Minmay putting on makeup (for what? what costume is that? I thought it was the DYRL costume, but it is not)

- (Young pre-series) looking at the Macross billboard

- (white hat) looking at Megaroad billboard

- (white hat) leaving aboard Megaroad

- * (long hair, plain clothes) watching Megaroad depart

- * (long hair, plain clothes) on a delapidated stage and shivering in the rain

- (white hat) looking down from Megaroad

- remembering end of DYRL

- (long hair) in front of photographers' flashes, with flowers

- * (long hair) in front of photographers' flashes, looking pretty bad

- Older Minmay (black hat) taking a bow on an empty stage

So I have put stars by the parts that confuse me. I understand that Minmay left on the Megaroad. So what is the black-hat-Minmay flashing back to? She seems old, based on the way her legs look as she walks up the steps onto the stage.

And *especially* what is up with the long-haired Minmay who seems to be in trouble and not leaving on the Megaroad? It seems to be a strange potentially non-literal set of scenes to me, and I wonder what others think about it. I searched around, but wasn't able to find any comments about this specifically.
