That's a really great deal for a loose VT-1. :good:

I don't have a Yammie VT-1, so now I'm curious what Yamato did to handle the orange. Did they manage to match the painted & molded plastic nicely, or was all the orange painted?

That VT-1 is hands down the luckiest find I've ever come across so far. B))

The legs, boosters, leg armor, backpack & chest are all the same shade of orange on mine. The Armor is all molded in orange while the rest of the Valkyrie appears to be painted orange over the ivory/cream colored plastic.

Even if you're getting the Bandai DX version, which looks stunning I'd still recommend tracking down the Yamato V.2 as well.

  2. I had two HMR VT-1's, got them on PO and both had different shades of orange which visually really bugged me and in turn I sold both of them.

The plus side is that I found a pristine Yamato V.2 VT-1 for $65.00 shipped on Ebay last year & I'm happy as can be. (Didn't come with the box but that's ok.)

As I'm not a fan of the whole TWE concept, I'll hold out for someone who bought one to many & willing to sell a spare.

    Pic from Sajmay Lau.

Obviously lighting affects some, but the colour tone of the 0A looks more like the older Yammies.

Yeah, Shin's HMR has a heavy Yamato color scheme influence with a Dash of Hasegawa's.

While I do think it looks good (And I'm looking forward to getting mine), I would have preferred the Arcadia 0A color scheme as that is straight from the anime.

Now that'd be a decent size project. I always steered away from the 1/48 Yamatos for odd reasons, but I wonder how many would be interested in that since the DX is about the same size, and kinda fits that role.

BTW, @505thAirborne, is that Eunha in your avatar pic? If so, she is, IMO, one of the top 5 most beautiful women in the world. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

That is the one, the only real-life Galactic Fairy, Eunha of Gfriend & VIVIZ.  :wub::wub: (Special shout out to Isa of STAYC, she's in my top 5.)

As for the idea of a new 1/48 VF-1D conversion kit, I have a DX VF-1D and despite all that the Bandai toy offers, I still prefer the Yamato 1/48 for Fighter mode. I'd happily keep my DX in Gerwalk or Battroid but strictly keep the Yamato in fighter.

Only 2. I'm in the Bay Area but all my Macross collection is still in East Coast. I have very minimum space so I can't buy as much.

I ordered from Nippon Yassan 2.0.  Yoyakunow

Nice, at least with two and "IF" you choose to display them, you can do one with Misa & one with Minmay.

I feel you with the lack of display space, I have to get creative with the limited room I have.

  6. So, is this just simply a recreation of the Toynami Beta fighter? Same size/scale?

If so, you'd be better off to make a separate Fighter mode cockpit section and separate chest section for Soldier mode that can be swapped out, this way you're not repeating the major mistake of Toynami with the cockpit section simply folding down... something that CM's did correctly.

I wish you luck on this project, this would be fun for customizing and most definitely creating a Shadow Beta/Dark Tread. B))

A skit like that is made for the cast to break and it feels good to laugh right along with them.

I'm amazed that Keenan Thompson didn't break, especially all the background actors.

As one YouTuber commented, "Those are some STONE-FACED background actors."

Not saying it wasn’t a bit funny, but it’s more funny that the cast members can’t keep from laughing at their own jokes

That's what made it so hilarious, watching Heidi Gardner absolutely lose it was comedy gold.

I'm convinced that during the dress rehearsal Mikey Day didn't look like that.
