  1. So far, my parents bought me a crapload of Guess clothes, and a surround sound system for my widescreen. As far as Macross stuff, I'll have to buy my own stuff. Probably the VB-6, and whatever else comes to mind. I do need money though, for my 05 Subaru STI.

    Miram

Funny thing about this is that I've seen that pic and wanted so bad to take one of my Q-Raus and make it. Now that I know there is a gasaphon with that pose, hmmm. That pic is just hot. Well, if Milia couldn't make it as a Valkyrie pilot, she could've gone far at Hooters! :D

Milia: "What would you boys like to drink?"

Jason: "Uh-duuuuuuhhhhhhh, dah dah dah" (Then rolls tongue off floor)

  2. Macross Jack is the bomb!!! He won't make it till you order it! Funny stuff. Some of you should not act like you've never seen a boob or panty before. I've never laughed so hard in any thread as I have on this one.

  3. Question, is the MPC VF series really a "stolen" mold? I mean, the mechanics for it are the same as the Bandai's, but mold? Don't think so. Same for the Alpha MPC.

Personally, I think doing a Beta for them would probably be the easiest toy to design and produce. Come to think of it, how difficult is the transformation of a Beta? If I remember correctly, that thing what quite simplistic in its transforming process and shouldn't be too much trouble. Toynami would have great success doing that as I'd buy that for sure, and I think it'd actually be a better toy than the VF and Alpha series put together.

  4. Basara could've been such a cooler character if he didn't sing every episode. His motives are fine and his view is whatever, but they could've made him out to be a little less panzy and it would've brought the message a little bit stronger.

As far as the plot, there is a great story there underneath the "I'll sing, not fight" dilema that's there every ep. Overall, I actually like the story even though it sounds like I don't. Story= good, characters=need work. :D

  5. When I first started getting back into creating my ultimate toy collection of Robotech/Macross toys, I searched Robotech and Macross. I knew nothing about Macross except that it was what the first installment of Robotech was based on. With that, I found Macross Plus, Macross 7, Macross II (didn't know about that one) and it opened up a whole new love for both series. Honestly, Robotech created my love for anime of that genre and made me a fan of Macross. Later (going back a few years), Macross made me a fan of Robotech again. Without both of them, I wouldn't be where I am now in all this. It took one to make the other, and the other to open the door for most of us to fall in love with the one. :D Sorry if I confused the hell out you bastards. I confuse myself talking sometimes.

Oh, and why do we pay more??? who knows, cause we're still all kids and want what we want, not old people looking for the best deal all the time. The kid at heart in me has caused me to pay some steep prices for items Macross and Robotech that I shouldn't have.

  6. Even though I'm a fan of both Robotech and Macross, I'll still give my honest opinion about these MPC Alphas. The Scott Bernard version I own is perfect. All super tight joints, paint is clean, and a wonderful toy/collector item. The red Alpha I had a brace in the nose section break during its first transformation and the whole nose/cockpit section came off. I was pissed, but being that I'm a customizer, I was able to fix, reinforce, and get that area even more secure than Toynami made it in. I was able to speak with a higher up at HG, and they just gave me a new one. That was real cool I thought, and the new one is flawless.

As a new company, Toynami may run into QC problems, and will still be learning as time goes by, but by that same coin, a new company that is not so established needs to be extra strict so that their first impressions they leave are good. I will say that between the VF series and the Alpha series, it's night and day, east and west, and I look forward to Beta fighters, especially since their transformation isn't as complicated.

  7. Honestly, I thought this game was pretty good. There, of course, were those few missions that just irritated me to no end trying to beat, but who wants to run right through a game anyways? I think it was better than the new Robotech game, that is just another push through the game and get it over with type game. They had a lot of opportunity to make a great online game and create a huge fanbase for that and blew it. Is BC worth the $10??? Absolutely. Have fun with it.

  8. After reading this thread, I realized that I never finished this game. I guess I should say thank you for reminding me that I still have this game. :D I did have a lot of trouble in this section of the game. What's the best way to dodge the lasers?

  9. Wow, two MWers who were both doing these kits, and it's a 1/100!!! If you could get that far, you could definitely do the rest with little effort. I think you knocked out the hardest part right there in the legs. Anyways, great work, I was wanting to do this to the few kits I have, now I have ideas. :D

  10. Man, I remember this thread long ago and thought, wow, if this could get done and duplicated, I'd be totally in. Glad to see there's still life in the thread. So, is this an operation from the reissued kit of the VF-2SS or is it from another kit? This thing looks amazing. I'd love to see updates.

  11. I'd love to see this subbed the right way and/or even dare I say, dubbed. Question though... since the mecha designs are new and the characters are new, wouldn't this be able to make it stateside? That would be great to see an official release of this over here. :D Well, here's to wishing

  12. We're not that far off. How many of us already have shrines dedicated to the Valks? I know I do. LOL, We shall pray to the Floating Head to rain down new Macross toys, and bless your lowly servants for a new series...

  13. Honestly, with the 20 anniversary of Robotech coming, I think Macross will stay quite strong being it's the root show for Robotech. It's all just a matter of priorities. Some of us are still in a position where space, and social status hasn't changed enough and we can still collect. Others are now fathers, while some are in new homes and just can't afford it, or afford as much. I'm still a collector, like you, Kevin, but the fact is that the joy of getting the new toys are not as strong. Perhaps it's just cause I'm a little tired of the VF-1 series. I think I'll feel the joy again once the VB-6 is out, or if the VF-19FP comes out.

So far, my collection consist of 18 Bandai 1/55s, 9 1/60s, two each of all the M+ valks, 5 1/48s, all the Bandai M7 stuff, all Toynami MPCs, and many other odd and end releases. My buying has slowed down, and will until new valks come out that are non VF-1. Not stop, just slow down.

  14. I'm surprised they haven't done this yet. Here's another idea... why don't they sell a set with a Macross Zero destroid and then the original one??? I think that would be cool. It would definitely keep my interest in toys going.

Right now my collection consist of the old large size ones and a paper made MAC II. I need more though, and to have high detailed destroids would be cool. Can the gound forces get some love???

  15. How about this... everyone buy me California Lotto tickets and powerball tickets and if I win, I'll buy a few and hire those here that can do 3D models to create toys. Those that can't can just work on filling the powder and the chemicals. And we can start our own independent company for ourselves and be the lords of our own toys. :D

  16. I heard that, Blaine, that's why I wrote if at all possible, cause sometimes it's just not possible. It's just nice to have the toy collection I dreamt of when I was a little kid. If I could go back in time with what I have now as far as toys, I'd be one of the coolest kids in the county. :D
