i was really engrossed by the story line 3/4 of the way. its when it shifted to space and added some truly bizarre plot points that my enthusiasm went down a few notches. the movie is coming to dvd in a few months. i'm told its not as good as the series.

have you seen Ikkitousen? if so then they are both very similar (to the point that some claim ikkitousen has some panels which are blatent rip-offs of TenTen). its about 2 busty sisters who's clothing have a habit of being ripped to shreds. one of the sisters chases after a bad boy newcomer to her school who in turn wants nothing to do with her. between them and a cast of other tough guy fighters they take on all comers and go up against the evil school body ruling class. ok the show is a bit more entertaining then i make it out to be. you have some cool fight scenes, busty babes, and comedic scenes so its hard not to like it. Ikkitousen is very very similar in that sense but with perhaps less comedy.

hopefully we'll get more technical details on this release soon

if you are referring to the diamond import then that is the same japanese edition. i have not seen any solicitations for an english edition + figure from Viz. if you have a link of such an item i would be greatly interested to see it.

There are US releases? in all likelihood he is referring to Diamond's importing of the manga/rei set. there is no difference between the two and to call it a US release is a little misleading.

TC appears to have a few more sets as they've re-added the buy button to the Rei/manga listing.

i still dont get what exactly this line is all about. are they smaller? cheaper? bigger? need more info.

i particularly liked the part where the Matrix in Sailor Moon glows and she says "light our darkest hour"..oh wait wrong series. the only redeeming part in this ep was seeing evil Ami dressed up in a school girl outfit with a new hair do. sweeeeeeeeet.

its an extreme long shot but try emailing tc and politely ask them if they have a spare rei set to sell you.

if you have a concern with your order simply email them and politely ask what the status is. they had ~100 odd units which they were sent unexpectantly. afaik the pricing was held to the pre-order amount for those who initially pre-ordered. b/c they had to purchase some stock from other retailers at street price new orders were charged the higher amount.

i want that kill bill box but its over $130 US on ebay edit - apparently tarantino has edited a complete version of the film (vol1+2) to be shown at cannes.

may want to add the HK variants for the EVAs since they come with the crystal base.

you might as well just ask the studio companies to sell you the dvd unlabelled and in a ziplock bag. i for one love the gimmicks and the thought that goes into making a beautiful package.

it was a better then average episode. i'm disappointed they just had to find a way to get kim in danger. give the girl a rest already. the red shirt guy was obviously just a run of the mill stalker. my thinking is they will use the daughter as a bargaining chip against saunders.

since we dont have the official info yet, early best guesses are no there won't be any trade-in / discount deal. wait for the weekend to pass as ADV has some sort of announcement regarding this release.

edit - i asked them about the pricing and will post back their reply. also i have no affliation or gain anything from all of this. i'm just an EVA fan who wants to see people get their Rei figure

since we dont have the official info yet, early best guesses are yes you don't need the DC dvds if you get the Platinum.

i pre-ordered mine from akadotretail.com. i do not know if they have any extras or if they are still taking orders. i just know that they expect to have enough to fill pre-orders. i consider them to be pretty reliable. To order from Diamond Previews you typically have to deal with a comic/hobby shop. However b/c the deadline for that issue has past you may have to wait until the item ships and see if a local shop ordered extras to sell. As for TC (from the owner): "I have not sent out the email yet, but I will send it soon. I have the stock reserved, but I noticed some of them already re-ordered." "Also, regardless of whether we contacted each pre-order customer, we still ended up with way too much stock in the end." "The people who had preorders do not need to resubmit. I am working on contacting each one. I just haven't figured out the most efficient way yet, but I have been working on a script to restore those orders back to their baskets. Once I get it to function as I'd like, the emails will go out." So please put away the pitchforks. sometimes a little communication on both sides can go a long way.

i'm in toronto. i ordered from an american online retailer..had i known at the time i would have got it via Diamond.

shrug well i dunno at any rate they have some so for people who need it go order it. no need to get upset over it.

from there to canada costs me anywhere from $7 to $30 depending on the type of service.

typically manga comes with such bonus goodies every so often (not just limited to EVA). This is the first articulated figure in the EVA manga lineup, but not the first collectible. the past few christmas editions came with holiday Rei and Asuka figures. So yes this is the only character they made in this style thus far.

TC is based in japan and as such this is the original Japanese release. by US version i assume you mean the one from Diamond? that is the same figure/manga set.
