  1. lol, you got it. Glad you liked it...im pretty happy with the way it turned out
  2. lol, the gif version is better, but this site doesn't allow gif avs...
  3. thanks yea, i havent been posting here much...busy with work and whatnot (check out my site if you're bored: Mobius Designs ). I still pop in here occasionally to check on new stuff..the kaiyodo revoltechs have me coming here now, and the masterpiece starscream will probably keep me comin back for a while (plus I'm in the market for some cheap rook alpha mps, so I keep an eye on the FS section) How are your customs coming? I'm still waiting on the pix and yea, legos are perfect for the pixelated look
  4. naw, fygar, not rygar...he's the green dragon dude from dig dug any of the old game graphics are pretty easy to do though...I figure a nice mario setup, a pacman, and maybe a zelda would finish off the display nicely
  5. got bored last night and put these suckers together...fygar, and a super mario set is in the works, but I'll need more pieces. designed pixel for pixel off the original arcade graphics enjoy:)
  6. im guessing there will be a cover for the arms...flip that open and fold the arms out like you do for the g1...then once the head is flipped into place, you can fold the nosecone down into the leftover arm hole and close the cover, hiding it completely. looks to me like the wings hinge a bot too, so you fold them back, then out. either way this sucker's going to be expensive...wonder how many repaints we'll see? I'd guess at least the main 3 jets, and then if the line continues being successful, dirge and ramjet a year or two later.
  7. yea, that getter is beautiful...cant wait to see where this line goes.
  8. 14 yamato 1/60s: -2x cannon fodder -2x VF-1D -2x Super Max 1J -2x Super Miria 1J -2x Super Rick 1J -2x Ostrich -2x Elint
  9. yea, for gi joe i sent off for a duke, a few hooded cobra commanders, a few parachute packs, and a few windsurfers...never used the transformers ones
  10. wow...ridiculous work!!!! im guessing the "thanks to john" was aimed at the original sculptor.
  11. how long is it anyways...i can never tell from pics. looks sweet though!
  12. those full-sized mazingers, grendizer, and tetsujin are amazing...i want them so bad (but dont have $2500+shipping to drop on em)
  13. yea, i definitely considered that...after i painted it though, the color almost perfectly matched my car (it's glossier than it looks in the pictures)...it's actually so close of a match that i used the same paint to paint a set of mesh fog light covers for the car. You can't even tell the color's different and i only use em in the winter anyways, sothe car's generally dirty (or at least unwaxed).
  14. yea, in the one pic, you can still see the line where i joined them...like i said, i got lazy with the sanding and bondoing you really can't tell in real life though, unless you get it under some bright light and really look for it.
  15. I was going to do it. The model has the 02 tail lights, so it wouldn't be too hard of a swap. I may end up putting 04 tail lights on my actual car though, so i left it the way it is for now.
  16. unfortunately, no build pics, but it was actually a pretty easy job. Started with the alternator and a 1/24 tamiya 2002 subaru sti model...i think it was about $10 off ebay. I cut the front of the alternator off straight up from the front of the wheel well (this maintains the original attachment point/joint for the arm), then cut the same part off of the model, leaving the entire hood intact. Next, I cut the notch out of the hood for the hoodscoop/head hole, and then bondoed the new front on to the existing body...sand sand sand, and it's nice and smooth. The lines are very similar between the 02 and 04 impreza fenders, so they match up pretty well. Added a couple finishing touches like swapping the spoiler and removing the camera mount, painted er up and reassembled. For the tires, the ones that came with the model were too wide for the rear wheel wells, so i had to trim off 1/4 of the inside (luckily it was right along a seam, so it came off easily). I made a few mistakes that are easy to fix if i ever do another one (messed up the hood scoop arms a bit, and painted some of the joint tube joints, so they are a bit tight in the holes making them hard to rotate). I'd also sand off the decals on the windows and future floor polish em so they were clear. Plus, i got lazy with some of my sanding on the fenders, so id smooth that out too. I'm also planning on attaching one of the 1/60 yamato missile pods to each shoulder to give it a bit of firepower...I really cant stand the intercooler gun it came with, so i dont use it. and yes, it is still fully transformable. Here are some poorly lit, crappy pics i took of it in car mode when i first finished it.
  17. naw, the rally one it started as had gold rims...i just gave it different tires (bridgestone potenzas, like the actual subarus come with)...i was going to paint the rims gunmetal and silver like my real rims, but got lazy it looked like this at the start: oh yea, i changed the spoiler too and sanded the camera mount off the roof
  18. here is a close-up shot of the rustoleum paint for plastic...this stuff goes on great and there is only a bit of flaking where the shoulder/fender bit folds up inside...my fault really...i moved it before it was fully dry.
  19. finished my custom tf alternator a few weeks ago, so i figured id post some pics here...i used the first alternator smokescreen with the rally decals as the base, gave it a new front end (swapped the 2004 impreza front to the 2002), tires, and paint job, and added a few decals to spruce it up. the custom is based off my actual car (2002 subaru impreza). enjoy don't feel like transforming it into car mode right now, but if i did, it would look like this (my car), but with gold rims:
  20. rustoleum paint for plastic update: the stuff works great...no need for primer, goes on nice and thin, so you can still transform stuff. Once it's dried for a few days, it is hard as a rock. I not only used it for toy painting, but also to paint some fog light covers for my car (color turned out to be identical to my car's paint, minus a bit of sparkle, so I figured why not). Took the car on a weekend trip to a ski town about 3 hours from my place...sand, snow, gravel, and a bit of rally inspired driving later and they are spotless. No peeling, no scratching. Overspray can be scraped off with a knife, and once the paint is dry you can't scrape it off with a fingernail unles you REALLY try (I imagine...I didn't feel like REALLY trying). I need to touch up a spot or two, then I'll post pics of the toy. You can get the rustoleum at any home depot
  21. Thanks! I'd heard the term "drift out" and did searches on it here and on a few other sites, but didn't get any good answers. I will give it a shot and see if I can get em out.
  22. Hey, Im putting the finishing touches on a custom alternator smokescreen and wanted to take as much of it apart as possible beforehand. Ive got all of the screws out, but don't know how to get the pins out of the other joints (arms and stuff). if anyone knows how to do this, i will forever be in your debt thanks
