Anyone know for sure if you need to pay up front for pre-orders at Yoyakunow? I've read their FAQ and Terms of Service and it's still not clear to me. I assume yes, but just checking. And I'm assuming that they don't tell you what the shipping cost will be until the item is in stock? Makes it really hard to comparison shop when they don't tell you the full cost with shipping up front. I have a YF-21 pre-ordered at Amazon.com but the price is high so I'm still looking for one in Japan. But this quarter is brutal with way too many releases so I need to pay later when the item is shipped.

    Some things to note:

For any Canadians out there, Amazon.ca only recently listed the DX YF-19 reissue on their site. I had assumed it was sold out and gone but apparently not. So Amazon.ca may have a pre-order for the YF-21 in a few months. Not sure why Amazon Canada lists so much later than Amazon USA. They also listed the VF-117 reissue recently as well.

Luna Park seems to have an option to pay $50 up front and the rest when they get the item in stock, which would be great for me right now, but you need to email them to do it. I did that, they said they would send me a bill for $50 to secure the preorder and then nothing happened so I gave up. You also need to be an existing customer that already bought something. Which I am. Not sure what's going on there, but I thought I would let people know. That info is a bit buried on their site and not obvious.

YYK payment is upfront. They usually give you shipping estimates at the time of checkout or the option to select shipping later or combine shipping later. ATM the USD to JPY is favorable, so it might be worthwhile to secure payment now rather than later if the reverse happens.

BBTS is charging $350, plus $4 S&H. Amazon may be charging $20 less for the valk, but what's their shipping cost like? I'm thinking BBTS is looking pretty fair, as most of the other e-tailers are likely to be in the same ballpark, especially once shipping is tacked on. The only negative thing about BBTS is that they seem to take longer than other stores to get their stock.

I'm curious to see what the US Gundam store will price it. If it's in the $300+ range as well, it's a notable contrast to the DX YF-19, arguably the more popular of the M+ valks, which has a current PO price of $250. All things considered, however, it's a bit surreal after years of midnight madness to score a Macross valk to see these toys now available, sometimes for weeks, on American stores' inventories. Dream come true.

For most BBTS also charges state tax according to the buyer's location. For me it would be almost another 30$+ ontop of the 350 and 5$ s&h.

I just nabbed the last set of Hazel + Hrududu parts on AE. $240 ain't bad for the entire set. Just have to pay shipping in April.

It'll by my 4th metal robot Hazel but can you really have too much Hazel? I think even with shipping the exchange rate makes it cheaper to buy from Japan since Bamco still tries to charge ~ 1usd = 100 yen in P-bandai US

AE always limits 1 per customer and it shows sold out for that customer if they place an order. Both are still showing available for me.

It's hard to tell if they've made any changes, but the things that stuck out to me about the painted prototype still stick out as being very obviously wrong and completely off-model from the lineart, so at this point I'm just assuming that Bandai's doing their usual thing and deciding they know best.

Also.. It actually looks like it has swappable feet for battroid mode.  Where was that feature when they made the garbage feet on the YF-19? :p

It looks like the bottom half of the front foot might slide forward and backwards to accommodate the transformation.

nvm it was mentioned already lol 😅

  5. Sorry I didn't really bother to check the prices of the Valks because my logic was everything is already marked up (to prices you can probably find at other retailers usag, bbts, gp, etc.)... aside today I wasn't there for the Valks.

Also it didn't really help that almost all of the displays and the product stacks had no prices listed/displayed. My friend had to ask the store employee the prices for the Store Exclusives NXEdge Hi-Nu and NG.

And... the line to pay, especially the cash only register was right next to the DX Chogokin Display/stacks and people were standing/lined right in front of it.

  6. Got back from the visit to the TN NYC store about 2 hrs ago. The store space is maybe 1k square feet (not a big store) just enough to display their stuff and sell. They had the VF25F Alto Revival version and VF31AX Hayate on display and for sale near the register (towards the back).

FYI they are allowing walk-ins but there is a wait. Reservation is not so much of a wait if you're close to the reservation time.

    Only on web exclusives.

I recall seeing one price listed for the VF171 and it was '30800jpy Now' for their listing, thus the reason why I didn't order with them and waited for Amiami later in the night.  When AE gives the option for a 'Now or Later' option there's two prices listed. The 'Now' option is usually listed maybe just a few jpy less than the 'Later' option. This reflects mostly for the rest of the items listed on their site. Maybe someone who had placed an order with AE can chime in.

Sorry to hear you lost your PO with AE 😵‍💫

First episode of Macross 7 TV series released  October 1994.

ahh you're right! I stand corrected... I knew they were close and googled it. I guess I shouldve dug a little deeper than google's immediate results.
