  1. it's really not that bad. i'm horrible at video games, but managed an "s" a day. there really isn't much strategy involved. most of the levels are straight forward. you do have to get an "s" with the appropriate valk in each level in order to receive the "s" and be able to save it. this is an excellent game guide with the exception that it calls everything by its robotech names http://faqs.ign.com/articles/496/496660p1.html

    DYFL?

i've had my Focker VF-1S hidden behind GBP armor for the past month. last night i got the urge to pop the armor on my hikaru 1J and realized once again how much i love focker's valkyrie. i put it in gerwalk with the arms tucked back (incidentally, is there a name for that?) and it makes me way too happy just staring at it.
  3. what a champ. thanks man. i always wondered how jetfire-ish he would look.
  4. does anyone have a picture with hikaru's VF-1S with milia's FP? the angel bird looks fantastic with max's fp's. good call.
  5. the 1/48 is far better than the 1/60 (however i do love my super ostrich). i strongly advise getting a VF-1A, J or S and some fast packs. makes for a lot of good times. i would steer clear of the VF-0 and SV-51 until the quality control issues are worked out. my VF-0 was so floppy that i sold it out of frustration. The 1/60 YF-19 is another of my favorites. If you get one, by the set with the fold booster included as it has a straight gunpod rather than the crooked gunpod of the first edition. And most importantly...have some patience. I have seen a lot of valks go for way under retail and ebay prices on here. welcome to the boards and don't forget to pick up the anime since it's pure awesomeness. also...robotech and related product sucks. stick to yamato & macross. however, you can get the whole macross series from the robotech site for a good price (you can probably find it even cheaper on ebay) http://www.robotech.com/store/viewproduct.php?id=93 oh..almost forgot one of my all time favorite resources http://www.anymoon.com/blog/ that's jenius's blog and it's nothing short of amazing. edited for yf-21 anticipation obsession

  7. i feel for you man. i hope hlj loses my email about getting replacement arms. on a side note, that's funniest & saddest sentence ever.
  8. does anyone have a link to the part on HLJ's website. i can't find the replacement shoulders for the life of me. also, any tips on how to tighten the fuselage in fighter mode so the cockpit and nose don't droop. thanks!

    VF-0A

yamato 1/60 vf-0a - non-canon? the 1st one that came out, not the shin. same question for the stand alone ghost booster.
  10. i love my 2007 gti, but it has nothing on... Volkswagen 650hp W12 [attachmentid=42715] made in america!
  11. i would like one also. thanks!
  12. i think rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) is good for cleaning. the side covers on my valks are very finicky. i can put them in the groves, but they come right out with the slightest amount of play. i don't even worry about them. get some recast side covers (you can request them in the wanted section). They look great and lock in tight. They're the same side covers that come with the GBP armor (which snaps in). chower's pic of a custom max vf-1a with side covers http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...st&id=31529
  13. i'm permanently hosting the file on my site since it seems like a useful thing to have around. if that's a problem, let me know. http://www.loweruncton.com/macross/konig.zip right click, save as (please ) -jake.
  14. i'm sure he doesn't mean any harm...it's historically accurate. nazi mechas were our biggest obstacle in WWII. right?
  15. personally, i hope you reconsider. the minmay decals i got from you are top notch. there are plenty of us that understand that macross does not equal life. if i recall correctly it took a few weeks to get the decals. exo took about a month to send vinyl stickers. as long as people know it could take a month or two, there should be no complaining. the decals are a really valuable service and i'm sure the majority of us really appreciate your time and effort.
  16. i am 99% sure that i had a sunburst lion and i have never been out of the US.
  17. i thought the post said battle breasts and figured you had a way cooler childhood than me. i used to have a few of those. i can't remember anything about them though. either too many toys as a kid or too much tom foolery as a teenager.

    Macross PS2

awesome. most fun i've ever had playing a game.
  19. is there any difference between mp-01 & mp-04 prime besides the trailer? is there a difference in quality between the two versions? also is there a difference and quality & materials in the takara counterparts? thanks to everyone for being so helpful.
  20. what is the best voltron figure in terms of durability and sculpt? The MPC toynami? Also, is saying Voltron the equivalent of calling macross "robotech"? Should i call it GoLion instead? and... favorite Optimus Prime/Convoy figure? any other really amazing transforming mecha from the 80's (besides the above listed and macross of course) that i'm forgetting? thanks!
  21. all posed on display shelves. i make it a point to transform at least one a day. never saw the point in not playing with toys (unless you're trying to sell them for profit later or own a museum). my 1/48 max 1a, 1/100 monster, and 1/60 yf-19 get the most use and whooshing (Kyuun - ing ?). sooo much fun.
  22. okay..somebody please help me out. i downloaded the video twice (just to make sure) and cannot get it to play in either VLC or MPlayer . I have a 15" powerbook running OSX. VLC plays the audio for 5 seconds and quits. MPlayer won't do anything. i would really like to watch this. thanks! Edit: nevermind. downloaded the newest VLC player and it works perfectly!
  23. canon = official; recognized as part of continuity example: Hikaru's VF-1A is canon because we saw it in DYRL?. The super stealth VF-1J is non-canon because it has only appeared in toy form.
  24. i finally beat Macross for PS2. the last ARMD level took me a ridiculously long time to beat with an "S" rank. i'll post my game score when i get home (somewhere around 516k methinks), but in the meantime i was wondering if anyone knew of a comparable game. Macross was by far the most fun i've ever had with a video game. it was just challenging enough that i did not breeze through, but easy enough that i accomplished every goal it a decent amount of time. the actual gameplay was very intuitive and graphics were clear enough that multiple enemies were not a confusing mess. the numerous options for valkyries and methods of killing opponents kept the game from getting stale. i rate this as the most fun i've ever had playing a video game. are there any flying games (no straight simulators) or mecha games that compare in the above aspects? i have both the us and japanese ps2. if you recommend a japanese game, it has to be something that is fairly easy to figure out on visuals alone as i can read & speak english only. thanks!
