Just get the regular releases and get your option parts from various members' shapeway stores. They are great quality and you can paint them if you want to. Also, the unbuilt kits are cheap right now. They come with gray option parts as well. Plus, you get a kit to built for fun!

Don't the boxes get damaged that way when you collapse them for storage?

I have no more room at my apartment. 'm also trying to force myself to open up more of my toys and get rid of the boxes. I do it for a select few keeper/sacrificial "play" valkyries, but I want to extend it. Just have to convince myself that I'm not gonna sell them anyways - at least I don't want to - ever. Other than that, hello parents' garage! Also, I will probably start getting rid of my other, non-Macross collectibles and electronics. If I want a complete lineup of anything, it would be Macross!

I usually just go by set (or changing) priorities. I'm not much into the old takatoku stuff anymore. I have a few of the Bandai reissues and that's good enough for me. Also with 1/48 I just want my VF-1S strike Roy/hikaru and a GBP for future display. The rest is all 1/60. My priority hierarchy is: Yamato v2 1/60 VF-1 SDFM (want to complete this line b/c its the best ever - cavaliers, low vis VF-1S, oh my!) Yamato v2 1/60 VF-1 DYRL (mainly just skull squadron, VT-1, Elint) Macross Plus (only 3 of them, what the hell....) Macross F (want most of the renewals) Macross 7 - just a few of the ones that I like (VF-19S/P/F, VF-17D, VF-22S Gamlin) and am willing to wait for prices to fall Non Macross - a few selected MP Transformers that are the best representations of their G1 counterparts Marvel Legends (just favorite characters) Hot Toys (just started on this, and am really trying to keep it small. Only a few select figures) I try to follow this list as best as I can. If I make big Macross purchases I try to balance it out by getting rid of some non-Macross items. MP TF and Hot Toys are good sacrificial candidates b/c they tend to rise in value at times. I always take care of my collectibles so they are easily sold.

Now we're counting other stuff?! Crap... I also have everything in a spreadsheet and I've been and will continue to sell off things to help mitigate the cost. My collecting priority is Macross, so if I have to get rid of non macross stuff then SO BE IT! Except of course a few pieces close to the heart (MP Optimus, various comic figures, etc.)

Oh man - this is my most insane Macross haul ever: (1) VF-19P (1) VF-17D with super pack (1) Super pack for VF-17 (spare due to holding out on VF-17S for a little longer) (1) VF-19F (1) VF-22S Milia (2) 1/60 VF-1S Roy TV version (1) 1/60 VF-1A DYRL Kakizaki (1) 1/60 VF-1J Hikaru (2) 1/60 VF-1S DYRL Hikaru 30th anniversary ed. (1) 1/60 GPB-1S armor parts (1) 1/60 VF-1S DYRL Roy 30th anniversary ed. And this is all the stuff I lagged on over the years. I actually bought a few of these just before the great panic but I elevated it during the past week. This isn't including the upcoming Bandai stuff (VF-171EX CF, YF-29 Anniversary, RVF-25 LUCA)!

Dammit EXO, I'm at the final checkout click now.... my wallet is screaming. I just hope I won't have to pay the IRON PRICE when all of these valkyries arrive in the mail!

Other than materials, I'm pretty happy with the v2. And maybe poseable pilots ?? I do hope they stay in 1/60 scale though to be compatible with my other lines. Honestly tho, the VF-1 line is the largest part of my collection and it would suck to re-collect them again.

Is that true? It seemed like once the initial batches of the 1/48 low vis sold out, it was gone. The 1/60 v2 VT-1's went to the bargain bin on HLJ for awhile before they were completely gone. I picked one up on clearance for a nice price. 1/48 low vis prices shot up and never really came down

Most likely Bandai is the only candidate at this point. Which means Macross collecting will suck because Bandai doesn't give a crap about Macross

Aw, that sucks, OM. I thought they had a few available on their ebay auction. So I guess their webstore stock is accurate then. HKC's customer service sure is great. Last time I needed to return something due to their mistake, they paid for the EMS return shipment and gave me a $20 voucher.

Hopefully that is the case. I was contemplating overnight whether I should pick it up since I already have the VF-1S Hikaru Super TV version. Luckily I concluded that I need a spare due to future yellowing and the TV roy pilot figure. No cancellation email yet.

The 1/60 VF-1S Roy TV version (not the 30th anniversary version) and the VF-1A DYRL Hayao. Both are now listed as OOS

I would think Yamato's 1/60 v2 VF-1 line is the most complete line by far. They've given us almost every squadron from the show (yes, even the cavaliers!). The rarest would still be the 1/48 Low Vis VF-1A. Next would be any 1/60 v2 valkyries that did not get a re-issue: VF-1J M&Ms, VT-1 Ostrich, VF-1S low vis, VF-1D Virgin Road, etc. Of course, the Roy and Hikaru Skull VF-1Ss will always be popular as well. If Bandai takes over the Macross VF-1 license, there is no way they will ever treat us as well as Yamato has.

I just put in another big order with HKC and the two VF-1's I ordered are now listed as out of stock. Got in just before the door closed I guess... Now I only need a few more VF-1's to complete my want list. And of course 2 of them are the hardest to find (VF-1J M&Ms).

I know...wow just made a BIG impulse order. VF-19P, VF-17D w/ super pack and threw in a TV VF-1S Roy just in case they never come back in stock.

Does anyone know of anywhere besides ebay to get a VF-19P at a decent (maybe slightly higher than MSRP) price? I do not want to submit to ebay and rather get it at a trusted retailer.
