Bah, which ever reviewers have the most fans / subscribers, works...
Also, I like honesty. I just gonna wait and enjoy the reviews, and hope it's from more than one source. Reviewer, whomever it is, should be fan of macross to some extent!!!
-
Lunar,
if at all possible, pls consider Peaugh too as one of the reviewers, but only IF he is interested / excited about this project.
-
I didn't know Peaugh was a Macross fan, but cool if he is, that would make the review better, and indeed get the word out and get more fans interested at least. It would be preferable to send it to 2 - 3 independent reviewer, as was done with FT Quakewave, which really got the balls rolling and increased the sales / audience.
-
I agree with David here,
Keep it to simple stuff first, then work yourself slowly up!!!! Like simple transformation, or none transforming at all!!! The SDF-1 is a good example, and so will be the Regult, and similar, maybe zentradi / meltran, frontier / etc... Imagine the possibilities!!! I am not sure if the VF-2SS, which is what we really all want, will be too difficult for them or not, but if they can start with easy, and make it good quality / paint / engineering (tabs / locks / ratchet / etc..), that will be best, and make it more feasible for us to get other stuff made that wouldn't be otherwise.
An example is from the TF world, the 3rd party Quakewave. It was their first attempt, and is considered one of the, if not THE, best 3rd party tfs ever made.

Yes, Chimungmung best option for international right now, and Lunar best option for the states. Also, I deal with Chimungmung for some of my TF, so I like using him, and never will get caught with tax / duty.
Robotkingdom may be cheaper in asia though, so you will have to check to make sure. I know to Canada, their shipping is 32$, and the std price is 99$.
@Lunar,
You will be getting a test shot and reviewing him? When do you expect this?
Also, pls email me when you get set up for international, I think I have come across your store before for a few things.
Thanks in advance

WOW, I am sooooo excited about this,
1) this is my first SDF-1
2) my first macross purchase since yamato VF-17 Kai (on super discount). yea, I couldn't afford anything anymore.
3) my first SD
PO / Paid at Chimungmung. I recommend this store to any Canadians (actually anyone outside US really) if you want to avoid tax / duty and pay some of the cheapest price. It came to 120$ shipped (95$ + 25 shipping from HK). To anyone in the states, you really should go Lunar only, they have the best price for you guys, and if you order something else to go to 150$, you get free shipping..
Pls pls pls don't mess up the quality / paint, get us a descent figure pleaaase. Crossing fingers this one will be ok (I know some 3rd parties nail it on their first try, whilst others completely blow it). I just couldn't resist, I really want a nice SDF-1, and this looks amazing in both modes, and so cute, it will be nice hovering over my Yamato Valks

Just saw it, and it my favorite Marvel movie. Wow, such awesomeness.

Hi,
Anyone used this head before, or seen it being used on a VF-1 1/48th before?
https://www.shapeways.com/model/735327/autobot-jetfire-head-ver-1-revised.html?li=cart&materialId=5
It says it is made for 1/60, but looks too big for it. Any pics you may have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
-
@Exo,
Thanks, I just pm you on that
@ CoreD
Thanks also, will have to contact them to see if it works for the yamato vf-1 1/48.

Hi everyone.
So I have a yamato 1/48 vf-1a with booster, not getting much love now. Thought I'd give it a repaint and a new head. Problem is, where can I currently get a head that would fit. I guess a vf-1s head would do, though not sure who can still get that from, but otherwise, even a custom head. Didn't find anything on shapeways. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.
regards

Hi everyone,
I have a 1/48th vf-1a, and want to convert it into a jetfire. Anyone have or know where I can get vf-1s head or a jetfire head that will fit?
Thanks in advance for any leads you may have.

haha, thanks for sharing, that was great

Ah man, Apocalypse, the coolest bad guy ever in the marvel world!!! I hope they really make him worthy!!! But 2016, ah man, what a wait!!!

Here you go:
Here you can see lots of comparisons:
The plastic is smooth. Best feeling plastic I've touched in a long time. And I can't stop transforming and posing it!!
Now that I look at them, a lot of my 3P TF and MPs are irritating or just don’t have enough character for me to want to play with them. Same thing with a lot of my other expensive Japanese “collectibles”.
Really makes you see that most valks, pretty as they are, are a pain in the ass to handle. With the Bandai ones it is always "oh, have to be careful here not to scratch the paint”, then getting the loose joints, then getting stabbed or just plain put off by the overcomplex transformation (looking at you 171). Almost same thing with the recent Yamto ones. The 17 even made me bleed… actually the last fun valk that I couldn’t stop transforming like Bovis was the 1/48.
Like I said, valks are gorgeous to look at and their engineering is praise worthy but I think that after Bovis I’ll go for stuff that actually is fun to handle in my collection.
+ 1 on this. Bovis is alot of fun. Finally something that looks fantastic AND is tough AND you can drop without any worries (just broke my yf-19 when it fell off my stand) AND is fun!!! If i consider the whole combiner as 1 figure, then this is the first time i am buying 400 - 500 $ for a toy (actually 5 - 6), but this will be alot funner that any Valks i have, and will be the best toy (s) ever. I am also getting Hexatron now. MMC is really delivery beautifull and fun toys.
Sure, i love all my valks, especially my vf-19 fire valk, they are all wonderful display units, but after the 1/48 era, i feel that this is the first time i have a toy that is both easy to transform and has super tight joints, AND for the first time, i dont fear it can brake. Definetly worth getting. Sure would also love a yf-19 from Arcadia for a display piece only, but more than happy with my vf-19s and fire, and Arcadia is beyond my price reach now, and am extremely happy switching to MMC and Fans Toys transformers for the heavy massive plastic feel, easy transformation, and fun factor of always wanting to handle my toys. This is ALOT of bang for the bucks guys, MMC products are not overpriced at all.
Bbts is taking orders on not max and not overlord. Overlord is expensive! 250 bucks by bts who made sonicron......meh.
max though i ordered but I got a gut feeling a battle station is down the road.
MMC has announced that they will be making an Overlord too!!!
-
This looks like the best / nicest /coolest toy that will ever be mass produced on planet earth at below 500$!!! Just wow, I wish I could afford it, it is just so beautiful.
-
watch it in reverse.
Ah Common!!!! Anyone? VF-19 from Batroid to Fighter?
-
Thanks Jenius, but I want to go from Batroid to fighter if possible.
-
oh man, i mistyped, i meant the vf-19
-
Hi, can someone post the video instructions for transforming the VF-17 from Batroid back to fighter? I am stuck in Batroid, and dont know how to transform it back!!!

wish list is 200$...
realistic number base on the vf-1s is double that 300 - 400$. If they do a second run in 2015 and this gets good reviews, I might be able to put all my money aside for that one... probably they wont do it though.
If it is above 400$, I am out forever, and will just enjoy my vf-17.
-
well, this mold seems... absolutely perfect.... and.... extremely expensive...and probably will be the most sought out valk ever... aw man, and that display case, holy molly.
If I had known a few years back of course that something this grand would be made, I would have traded / sold / not bought at least 3-4 of my remaining valks, where I have only less than 10 now.
Honestly, this and VF-19 Fire as my two most awesome made valks ever (and leader, and favorite characters in all macross), each in a display like that on it's own, wow.
-
well, they could hand it in to Michael Bay.....
(runs and hides)
-
umm, wow, out of no-where... i thought we were done...
Does anybody know how much this thing will be? The only reason i was able to get vf-19s and fire are because they were like 135 and 167 USD each when Yamato went kapout, and the old yf-19 was like 165$ at the time it was released. If this thing is gonna be 300 - 400 $ again, it wouldnt be worth it for me to start selling my old ones as i couldnt afford the new one anyways. Well, good to hear that macross toys will still be going (other than bandai), i just hope the prices wont be insane and the quality will be there, as it was on the vf-19's

What's the good news??
Anyways, yea, like David said, they usually re-use the test sample(s) to go to different reviewers when there is only 1 or 2 copies in the transformers world, so the same can be done here. So give a sample to 2 reviewers (maybe a very involved member here, and maybe a very recognized reviewer like Peaugh / Optibotimus that has a lot of fans), then sent to another 2, one with Photography / Digital skills (VERY important), or mix / match...
But, I think Lunar should still first make sure the copies from Master Made are acceptable / ok enough for a test shot anyways, and even if not, no problem, just pls ask Master Made what will be fixed on the final production version that is not on the test shot, and give that list to the reviewers (and to us), so as to get the right info across. Test shots aren't always perfect, so that's ok, we just need to know what will be addressed, and for reviewers to know it.
