  1. One more pic, with a 1/144 VF-19 Kai added for scale.
  2. Here's a picture of my 1/160 Monster I did a couple of years ago. Large amounts of putty were required to make this kit look halfway decent.
  3. I'll admit that I enjoyed the first Wildstorm Robotech miniseries because at least it had a new story. I understand HG's desire to restructure the Robotech continuity and don't have a problem with it. To be honest, not a lot of thought was given to continuity when they first hacked the three seperate series together, and I appreciate attempts to fix it. Love & War is not holding my interest as there are far too many scenes recycled from the TV series - especially ones that are supposed to be suspenseful. Let's face it, we all know how this miniseries is going to end. I've also been reading comics long enough to know that artistic inaccuraries are a fact of life, and should *never* be the deciding factor when computing one's enjoyment of a series. The only part of Love & War I liked were the 2 or 3 pages early on that showed Dan & Bowie evacuating Earth...
  4. I built the 1/100 Fire Valk when it first came out and was unimpressed with how it looked. I then decided to redo it by sacrificing the fighter mode by removing all the pegs and filling all the holes in the arms and legs that are used to keep the kit together in fighter mode. I also glued shut the landing gear doors and liberally added putty over the gaps around the landing gear doors and elbows. The Valk now looks much better in both battloid and gerwalk and am glad I made the changes - if you want fighter mode, get a Hasegawa.
  5. I love all of the Mac7 1/144 kits (My avatar is my VF-11C kit) - I've got a pile of them left to do (mostly Tect gerwalk conversion kits). I love small kits as I can get them built faster, since II also do all my work by hand without an airbrush. Get the VF-17 kit - it easy to do with it's all black paint scheme. However, don't expect the quality of the older Zentraedi kits from the original series that you mention to come even close to the Mac7 kits. The Zentraide kits do not snap together, and fit together poorly - you will need to putty large gaps. You might want to consider staying away from them until you have more kits under your belt.
  6. I've built them all and Breetai's flagship is by far the worst one - the front of the ship is completely the wrong shape. The small SDF-1's that come with them are also pretty bad.
  7. I haven't build my VF-22 either - too afraid of screwing it up - but it has decals for Max, Millia & Gamlin.
  8. I tried to update my old Scopedog .swf lash icon - when I try I get an error message back: The error returned was: You are not allowed to upload that type of file as an avatar No big rush - one of these days I need to write a good Macross Flash icon.
  9. I was "Phil A" on the old board because "Phil" was taken. With apologies to the former Phil, I got to this board first . Don't have my flash Scopedog Avatar - resorting to one of my old model picture icons in the meantime.
  10. As much as I love building models I can't stand having lots of unbuilt models around. I'll only buy models if I think I'll get around to them "soon". Sure I've got a couple of kits that have been sitting around unbuilt for years, but my collection of unbuild kits is only around 10-15 kits which is rather small compared to most modellers. My only recent purchases have been the Hasegawa VF-22 and VF-1 battloid, but I'm holding off on building them as my last couple of kits have come out looking like crap, and I feel like I need a long break before starting another kit. I don't want to build them just for the sake of building them as then I tend to rush them.
