  1. Like someone mentioned earlier, people are just so happy to have something new to talk about that they'll love anything you throw at them. I've even noticed that at least one thread that was critical of the movie has disappeared. I posted in the "Robotech.com" forum regarding this matter out of curiousity. I almost feel like HG might be trying to keep the negative feedback to a minimum on their site. Can't say that I blame them...

Anyway, just figured that I'd share my thoughts and opinions...As a Robotech fan, I am very disappointed...

Heh, out of morbid curiosity I went over to RT.com. The amount of praise flowing on there is amazing. Grown men crying for the awesomness that is RT:TSC! Looking at it, I'm sure there is a certain degree of spin control going on.

  2. Thanks for understanding. I'm just so amazed at how poor it is. The VideoToaster used in early 90's sci-fi television looks better than this. For a 2007 release, this show is so far behind the curve it's not even appropriate to call it last generation. Egads!

Hey, watch it! Tommy says SC has OVA-quality animation and HG says it's award winning. How could they possibly be wrong?

  3. Oh no, Star Trek exists, it's just that Hiro's dad looks alot like Sulu to us non-Japanese types. Let's be honest, they all look alike to us unless we've seen alot of them. ;)

So back me up/shoot me down some othe those who've been more attentive during the episodes, as I don't always catch the episodes as they air, mirrors or anything that casts a good reflection is the catalist for the Nikki/Jessica switch, correct?

I don't think so, they are just a convenient way to show the two aspects of Niki interacting with each other. Niki and Jessica interchange with or without reflective surfaces before.

  4. I foud it interesting that in tonights episode when Nathan went to visit Mohinder, Mohinder said that his father had identified 36 special individuals. I counted 17 that I know of so far, did I miss anyone?

Also, weren't Sylar's victims also people with powers? He seems to have the ability to freeze people, so he must have absorbed that from someone at some point. How many specials did he off?

  5. Dude! I just got the Military version Aquarion and damn if its not the most complicated toy I own. But that what makes it so damn cool! With interchangeable robots, it's more fun to see how many new "transformations" you can come up with than the canon ones. So far I have found a Armageddon like one that's way more stable than the canon one. I use the same sequence for each ship but I used the alternate joining sites which connects way better. Then I turned the cannon around and made it stand on the back four legs and used Delta's legs to turn in to claws. Now it looks like a vicious insectoid creature out of Starship Trooper. This is such a fun toy. Highly recommended!

PS: I don't recommend any of the robot transformations. It sucks because of the weight distribution always makes them fall over. There using the same sequence as away I turned it into a 4 armed robot that can stand on its only, but its the only combo that can.

  6. comparing pilots is not a good way to determine scale of the craft. With something as small as a human at 1/60 scale, the toy makers have some artistic license to make a better if off scale pilot that can be mass manufactured. The scale should be determined by the craft itself as compared to the published specs like jenius did.

  7. I dont know if he snuck out since he has no memory of the paper warehouse/HRGHQ.

Eden gave him a card and a clean phone. I don't think he was scheduled to leave the "clinic". As for the "no memories" I interpreted that as him being secretive and not wanting to say anything about it to his ex...

"Yeah, I was abducted by this top secret organization that collects people with gifts and they cleaned me up."

Very believable... especially coming from an "ex-addict".

  8. Is Peter showing signs of persistence in his power mimicry? I mean he's still having future visions...

Sylar is going to bring a reckoning on everyone if he ever gets out.

Also, how did Isaac get all this paintings back? I thought HRG took all of them. He did kind of sneak out of the "clinic" and I doubt HRG was too happy about that.

  9. Do people watch this show anymore? I thought I'd give it a try, but it's just not very entertaining anymore. First season was fun but second is crap. and third season is dumb. I guess my whole problem with this show is that none of the characters are very bright.

For instance I just watched the second ep of season 3. Sayid is an idiot if he intends to set an ambush for the Others by himself. Jin and Sun have to know. Then the fact that they leave the ship unguarded, KNOWING that the others have ships of their own. It's all just too stupid.

I stopped watching halfway thru the second season becuase it annoyed me. Thought I'd pick up on the third season, but it doesn't look like its much improved at all. Quite frankly, I think its suffering BSG syndrome: the writers don't know where the hell the story will go. And oh yeah, "We're the good guys" Colleen should also add, "But we sadistic and so we'll shoot, kill, kidnap, and otherwise torment you survivors because we feel like it. But we're good guys. Really."

  10. Feel weird that the pilot is navigating the battroid facing upwards, although i imagined it would be rotated forward, guess it would impossible to achieve that in the 1/60 version due to space contraints, nevertheless im happy to own a masterpiece with ingenuity and engineering incorporated into it

    Cheers

Kawamori puts a lot of thought into his designs. The cockpit in fighter mode can display the environment around the pilot, even underneath him via the use of monitors all over. When I first saw M+ I thought that was silly. But when I examined the Macross DesignWorks book, it made so much more sense. The floor monitors become the forward monitors, and forward monitors become the top monitors. There are lots of other details too that makes the design functional and not just for coolness. For instance you can see how the pilot can get in and out of battroid mode via the hatch. I know a lot of people think SK does a lot of things just for the cool factor but I think he actually makes a lot of practical considerations.

  11. Sylar's been taking people's brains and modifying his DNA. I'm fairly certain Peter hasn't done that.

Not to get all technogeeky or anything, but umm... you can't take people's DNA. And even if you could, it doesn't have to be the brain. Every cell in our body has the exact same DNA. Sylar needs the brain so he can examine how their brain works (the manifestation of their personal genetic code) and then make his do the same to gain their powers. This may induce the necessary mutation in him, I don't know how the writers are going to deal with it.

My reasoning is that if Peter can gain other specials' powers as well as Sylar's unique power, then there shouldn't really be and problem for him to permanently encode it because he shoudl know how it works since it's now a part of him. Of course you can always come up with hundreds of ways to say its not possible, but the fact that Sylar can change himself without cutting his brain is an indication that Peter should be able to do likewise AFTER he's gain like say Claire's power.

It's all a moot point. This is just merely fan speculation for the hell of it.

  12. Also, Peter mimics Matt Parkman's telepathy in "Fallout", causing both to get acute headaches from the sudden ability to hear each other's thoughts, similar in principle to audio feedback. As revealed by Milo Ventimiglia in an interview on NBC's Heroes website, Peter is unable to absorb several powers in succession without suffering negative effects from the multitude of abilities operating in unison.

Ah so that's why he's ill. Also explains HRG line about how getting all those powers is driving Sylar insane.

  13. Peter doesn't keep the powers. He can just use them when he's near someone else who has them. He did use Sylar's TK. If you look closely when the locker doors got thrown at him, he deflects them around himself.

Yes, but what about Sylar's power to know how things work and permanently change himself to keep it??? Did Peter get that power too? And if so, then he should be able to keep all powers permanently from now on... AND without slicing up his friends.

  14. The 19 has always been my favorite, so I was psyched about the new one and sitll can't wait, but I also really do like the 1/72 line, flaws and all... so they're not going anywhere. PLUS I managed to break one of the hips of my 19 about a mnth ago, so I went out and bought all the parts for the hip ball-joint mod and did it along with some paint job details added.... looks pretty nice.... gotta post some pics still.

Wait wasn't that originally mine? I sold it in excellent shape and you broke it!? :p

  15. I wonder why Peter isn't doing so well. I'm going to guess that absorbing Sylar's powers is causing his powers to go haywire. Does he just gain Sylar's base power or all of them? We know that he can use the power instinctively. Because of his multiple encounters with "specials", did meeting Sylar somehow allow him to rewrite his own DNA? But the encounter wasn't long enough with Sylar to complete the process... We know that Peter must come into contact with Ted at some point. So the arc of the story must turn to Peter learning to control his power (which is discussed in Tim Kring's spoiler interview). I'm interested in knoing where this is going.

Sylar himself seems not only capable of extracting other "specials" powers but improve on them, presumably becuase his power allows him to understand theirs better then even themselves.

Where the hell is Matt, Nikki, D.L. and Micah's storyline going? They seem peripheral to the STCSTW arc.

Lastly, Hiro really needs to get a grip on his powers. I can't wait to see that scene played out.
