    bleh, what was the plot twisted again? Without reading spoilers or anything I somehow knew what the plot twist was going into the movie. After a few minutes it was confirmed. Whoever said Shyamalan needs a new gimmick is right. When the audience can guess the gimmick from a fake docu-propaganda piece, the director is losing it. I loved Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense. Signs and The Village are too predictable because we come to expect it. I am also annoyed by his cameos. It seems so unnecessary and everytime I see him in the movie, it seems so out of place.

    is the reason the feet are so large a balance issue? They got it right on the SP's but not on the MPC line... I figure that either diver or soldier mode needed extra base to stand properly... The large feet however make all the modes look bad... Fighter mode would benefit from a smaller foot print aesthetically imo...

    Im about to go see this possible crap fest. which brings me to my next comment, Its so farting easy to make a good avp movie, you just need to follow the following mathamatical formula

    Alien + preditor + Colonial Marines + ass kicking + R rating = good movie.

    Now if only some fox execs only knew how to read, or even think they would have realised this, we dont need any modern plausable preds are our mentors bable Bullshit, we need Alien + preditor + colonial marines + ass kicking + R rating damnit. Untill then id rather see this movie

    Caught a burglar red-handed in my house!

    Guy wakes up in the middle of the night to discover his house is being burglarized. He immediately goes over to his closet and gets out his 12 gauge shotgun and proceeds downstairs as his wife dials 911. Now depending on who's story you believe the scene ended up with two burglars shot dead... not just dead but litterally to pieces, the guy's entire living room shot up like a shooting gallery and they guy himself wounded in the stomach from a .32. Who shot first? Who shot last? That was for the police and courts to decide. Months later the case ended up like this: The homeowner was aquitted of all wrongdoing in his shotgun blazing defense of his home but ended up with serious health problems from his injuries... then another month or so later he was sued by both burglar's families for wrongful death. The attorneys put all their cards on the guy's use of a shotgun to "defend" himself with and the jury saw it their way. The guy was found viable with two counts of wrongful death on the grounds he "used innapropriate lethal force recklessly to subdue the plaintiff's" (or so said the verdict) and had to pay them tens of thousands of dollars as well as legal fees, yadda, yadda, yadda to the point that his own medical bills from the incident went unpaid.

    The problem with US laws: They are too easy on criminals. If you are a criminal on my property, you have relinquished all rights. If the two guys weren't burglars, they wouldn't have been shot to death. Action and consequence, simple as that.

    Pity I wasn't on the jury, I would have been for that guy, regardless of the force used to stop the burglars. He was freaking shot too. I guess he couldn't counter sue for medical fees and disability?

    I'm all for crime prevention as opposed to criminal rehabilitation. Make harsher laws and fewer people will entertain criminal thoughts. I hate criminals more than I hate dumb people.

    I'm sorry I usually avoid anything personal, but ~Duo~Trenten yours is possibly the most singularly dumb post I’ve ever seen.

    I believe he is referring to the crew of the dhow and how they were asleep leaving their craft unmanned as opposed to the crew of the aircraft carrier.

    This just occured to me, if Midichlorians (I still think someone ripped off Parasite Eve for this...) allow you to use the Force, could someone become an insant Force user? Let's say some Naboo guard with a really low count gets criticaly injured and ends up getting a blood transfusion from someone like Obi-Wan. His count would then be going up wouldn't it. Though on the other hand if it's something in the blood wouldn't that mean a jedi's Force abilty would be getting weaker with the more blood they lose?

    Midiclorians are probably more akin to mitochlorians. Mitochlorians are the power generators of the cell and more than likely arose as a result of a symbiotic relationship between a bacteria and a more advanced cell type. Mitochlorians replicate on their own as power needs dictate them to.

    Anyways, if we are to hold that mitochlorians are the basis for midichlorians in the SW universe, then blood transfusions will not give a non Force user the ability to use the force because blood cells do not replicate. All blood cells are derived from stem cells residing in bone marrow. Losing blood would also not weaken a Jedi since the intrinsic midichlorian count would be determined by the original stem cells themselves.

    It certainly is not impossible to get an accruate aim on a joypad, but mice are way more intuitive. If it was the other way around, then you would see joypads connected to computers to move the cursor around instead of mice. I'd much rather aim with a mouse than a joypad. It takes too long to adjust to the accuracy and precision necessary to aim well with a joypad.

    Just out of curiosity, why does every bad drawing of a Valkyrie suddenly have to be a whole new model series with officially sanctioned production histories and the blessings of the great Kawamori himself?

    I'm not dogging anyone, but really, it is really confusing and a bit frustrating that just because not every drawing of a Valkyrie is exactly like some other drawing that it automatically must be some obscure model of the Valyrie. To me the picture on the cover of that book just looks like a bad drawing of a plain old VF-1S.

    Maybe there's more in the book that I don't know about? What's the deal?

    Because people are picking up on details that you might have missed. First, let's get the picture in front of us so we can see what we're talking about...

    Differences off the top of my head:

    • Weird red circles on the front of the back FP
    • "Fingers" at tips of back FP similar to Macross cannon
    • Large rocket engines on leg attachments
    • Some kind of crossbar thingy on back FP
    • (Edit) Arm attachments seem to be missing

    head is not right. there is a vent or something there.

    Why did they change Spidey's lenses from a mirror type to the comic canon white type? That was the only change I notices in the costume between one and two. I personally did not like the mirror lenses from part one...

    The only plausible reason would be because Raimi wanted the bridge scene to show MJ reflected on one lens and the trolley in the other... That was not necessary in this movie...

    I think the reason why you think the IMAI is chunky is from the angle shot of the camera top down. Whereas the toynami version has had pictures full frontal.

    In terms of Line art Toynami's version does not line up the left and right chest with the central section that has the triangle on it. Both the left and the right chest section are not supposed to be fully horizontal. I doubt if it's a transformation error since all the photos I've seen of the battloid has the same thing. The Imai has this done correctly as does the Gakken.

    It isn't simply because of the camera angle. I've seen the IMAI at various angles and all of the shots have screamed chunky to me (the same goes for the Gakken, whos proportions have annoyed me even when I'd played with one some 20 years back). While some of Toynami's parts may not line up properly according to the line art, it still "feels" more like the anime overall. I think the main reason the IMAI's appears chunky is because the legs seem too short, and the chest and shoulders too wide.

    I see where we differ in opinion. I like the IMAI soldier mode better because it is stockier without being clunky. The Toynami one is slimmer than the line art. I have always seen the soldier mode as more burly and functional in Mospeada than the stylized slimness of the Valkyries. Toynami obvious went for the latter than the former which meant their fighter also looks slimmer... I guess it boils down to what we each believe the soldier mode should look like.

    The only reason that IMAI kit looks better is because it was painted by Jung. That's the thing about model kits, they only look as good as the artist can make them.

    I disagree. Even without the fancy paint, the scuplt of the IMAI is better. There is a reason for this... The IMAI fighter mode sucks so bad I won't keep it in that mode. They went for a more accurate soldier mode and it shows. Toynami went for a more even compromise. As such, soldier mode suffers slightly while fighter mode is better as compared to the IMAI model. I like the compromises that were made, though I do think Toynami really ought to have realized at the prototype stage that those leg and feet as to big... I think it would have made fighter mode look even better...

    Anyone think that the fugly blond neighber might play a bigger role in the next one?

    I wondered why she was even in this movie. It seemed like a plotline that was going to go somewhere, but then Raimi decided to drop it. As it stands, she has no point at all.

    Throw some make up on her and I wouldn't be surprized if she was a former high fashion model (note I said high fashion not super model). My problem with the character was that she lost the accent a few times.

    The receptionist I believe was one of Peter's earlier girl friends.

    The receptionist is Betty Brant. In the comic world she was Pete's first love if I am not mistaken. They broke up because she couldn't deal with Peter's dangerously lifestyle as a photographer...

    As for the movie world, she nothing more than the receptionist who empathizes with Peter whenever he faces JJ.

    My only reasoning would have to be that Doc Ock was given some sort of mental boost by the tentacles plugged directly into his spinal system. Basically, they could (theoretically) tell him to ignore pain if they have the capability to pretty much dominate his decision making abilities.

    But that is an odd point. If you're gonna let Spidey take shots to the Doc's head, ya gotta explain about why he can take it.

    Another question would be... who in the hell doesn't know his secret identity by the movie? Aunt May? JJJ? Robbie Robertson? Bruce Campbell? :lol:

    That's the thing though, you can ignore pain but you can't prevent damage. Like Roy said, Doc Ock should have a gaping hole in his head. Physically, his body is normal; only the tentacles are superpowered. By the way what is their power source??? Screw fusion power if Doc Ock can come up with that kind of battery for the tentacles!

    I also hated the fact that everybody and their brother knows what Spider-Man looks like and therefore his identity. About the only person who doesn't know is JJJ. Seems like everyone else has gotten the hint.

    Overall I still think it was a great movie. Must buy DVD.

    Geez and that was a Wednesday! I can't imagine what the weekend sales are going to be like.

    SOME SPOILERS:

    I thought Spider-Man 2 was pretty good. Annoyed by the fact that Doc Ock takes a beating from Spidey, who was the strength to stop a speeding train, and is still unharmed. He should have been knocked out cold by one hit from Spidey.

    I'd wager that 3 will be about the Green Goblin/Hobgoblin. The set up is too obvious. If Dunst wants to leave, even more so. Harry knows Peter's secret as well as the one he loves. Kill of MJ and you have a torn Peter, and not wory about Dunst in future movies. In essence, MJ will be an mesh of both comic MJ and Gwen.
