That was me! I'm Chris Glasnapp! : ) Anywho, it didn't get any further than what you remember it being. I coded up the program and did the original model. Some other people fiddled around with my clunky animation to make it look much cooler. Other than that, nothing happened. Unfortunately, real life interfered and I haven't been able to pursue my creative outlets very much anymore. : ( I had much grander ideas, such as smooth animation through the use of bezier animation paths. Perhaps i'll get back to it someday... I'll be sure to post anything I do, but don't hold your breath. If you the source or anything, just shoot me an e-mail and i'll send it on over. Wondering if this got any further than I know of. A while back on the old forums someone created a program that demonstrates a VF-1A's transformation and modes in a 3D DOS-like program. It was written by Chris Glasnapp, I don't know his MW name. I don't believe he gave releases versions, so I'll have to describe the last version I saw: I believe missles were added, and a more fancier wing sweep mode, where the plane banked and angled and the thrusters opened. If this was already brought up on the new boards, I apologize; I did a search that yielded nothing.

Indeed. I've always hoped that one day I could learn C++ somehow and code me a Macross game/mod with something similar to your ideas.

On newer operating systems you have to use the disc. On older ones, I think you can download it...not sure where.

I've signed up for it about 8 times... They better accept me or I'll...I'll!!!! Cry... I was so desperate I got into the Japanese version. Just to do nothing more than run around a bit and kill stuff. Even with that it was a great game. Got kind of boring though, not being able to read quest stuff. >_>

Consider that maybe the shot came from the front, hit the starboard side of the nose, and went through the canopy at an angle, and exited through the chest plate. That could be why we see no damage to the nose and canopy, because it all happened on the starboard. Heck, it didn't even have to hit him direclty anyway. And maybe that's also why we see his air brake flying off?

What they should have just done is raise a couple of guys from birth to speak Zentran, and then teach them enough Japanese for the part. Would have been much more realistic...

It's probably made by an ancient human civilization that worshiped the Aliens as goods (or demons) or some such nonsense. Graham Maybe the aliens were tired of being treated as goods and revolted or something. =\ For those of you who are hoping for some marine action in this one (like I was), I don't think we'll see any. The name of the movie is Alien vs. Predator. Alien being the first movie, with no marines; and Aliens being the second movie, with the marines. Just like the game Aliens vs. Predator has marines in it. No marines... /tear

I've always thought of it being similar to the A-10s helical drum system. You've got this cylinder like formation of bullets on a belt in the stock of the gun pod, and they're drawn into the chamber by it, and fired.

Seems to me that it wouldn't be too hard to land a VF-1 perfectly level with all of it's fly by wire stuff going on. And there's really no where to put a single hook, have to go with two. Well, maybe two could be put in the arms and attatch together at the end somehow, but are the arms strong enough to take that? and would the attachment be strong enough for that?

the posibility is -- 0.2% You should modify your picture by removing the nosecone and shortening the length of the groin armor. the armor would look much better that way. Graham Is this a possible hint about how the real 1/48 GBP armor will be when yamato makes it? Heck, I wouldn't be suprised if Yamato had the nose cone removable with the GBP in mind from the start, and just used the RADAR to justify it early on. =x

You can also see how the nose is at what looks like a 45 degree angle, whereas the aft doesn't share this rotation. Oh, and the nose is exactly the same as the destroyed one's, and that one is all moved around and twisted and turned.

Uh oh, it says item two is hot! /me fears legal action... One day, I will buy this movie. =[

The one I watched I downloaded, and started off with live action (which confused me a bit) and went on through what seemed to be a bit of a recap, then progressed on to new stuff. But was mostly new stuff. The file name was "End of Evangelion," so I guess that's what it is. It seemed to be comprised of two episodes, there was a break inbetween. And As Anubis said, it played on through the EVA seires ariving, with no "to be continued" thing. Guess I'll have to check out the other movie. So the manga has been released domestically? I was really hoping it hadn't, since I can't get anything from Japan except by downloading it. Bleh... That's ok though... /me reads RK manga...

There are two movies? Cause I watched the series and was all, "wtf?" Then I watched End of Evangelion (the one where Shinji and Asuka are alone in that, uh, place) thinking there would finally be closure, and at hte end I was all, "wtf?" So what's the name of the other movie? I must check that one out as well.
