  1. Yeah, that CD has been up there for some time now..
  2. If that is the case it makes me wonder. Why would the company that originally had it have the rights to make products off it in the first place. Wasn't the reason for the dubbed version of DYRL? suppose to be used to help people learn the english language or something? Why would the rights to make toys, etc be included for something like that. DYRL was releaseed after SDF Macross was made so I doubt Big West made another deal the same way they made the deal with Tatsunko.
  3. We don't know if they have the rights to DYRL. They didn't before cause when asked if they were going to released DYRL? the response was that they would need to track down the licenese but no knows who has it. Either they or Animegio said that. Either way HG didn't have it. Now if they have it now don't you think it would have been better of them to release a statement saying they did? Or better yet Big West even saying something since DYRL? would finally be getting a R1 release outside of Japan or better yet DYRL toys would be releases since it would cause for more demand for more Macross points. I doubt they would want to try and bury news if it was on the up and up. Notice on RT.com there isn't even a news article, the links just go to the preorder page. Also no one ever doubted they had rights to SDF Macross, it was always their claim to everything Macross that got people upset. Macross 7 Trash was pulled and all information of it was removed from their site. Now this has appeared. They were confident in the Mac 7 Trash manga but that fell through cause it was presented with this type of reaction. How did HG get their hands on the licenese. The question arises again with this. In the court rulings only the animation SDF Macross was mentioned, several times by name might I add. Not once was anything else talked about and in a legal document of that nature everything would have been spelled out if they were refering sequels which they weren't. HG has lied in the past and done things that are really questionable, people reacting like this isn't surprising. I really want to know what the hell they are up. If its on the up and up, great. It could be a step in getting better japanese made products, maybe. But there is a better chance this is just a test to see what will happen. I enjoy Robotech as much as the next person but I don't blindly believe or trust HG. Nor do I believe everything they say. A good deal of Robotech fans know the difference between the two series but many don't know at the same time. Also wasn't one of HG's excuses was that buyers would be confused about the difference between the two series, thus part of the reason why they tried to block products. Now they release something that looks just like the item they were trying to block thus voiding that excuse. So buyers before weren't smart enough to know the difference and now they are. Which is HG? What happen with Macross 7 Trash? They haven't answered that question yet either. If a deal was made and it isn't finalized (thus no announcement) then its really poor form for them to be putting this up in their store.
  4. Forever Red works cause all the Power Rangers series take place in the same universe, some on earth, others out in space. Also people don't need to be weened off Robotech. The majroity of fans of it are adults or in their teens that saw it growing up or when it came on Cartoon Network. It isn't a drug, its a damn TV show. People can tell the difference between the two or at least they should and if they can't after its been explained to them then, well that's just plain sad and I don't know what to say.
  5. Honestly never gave this thread and the issue a second thought. I can get imports from other sites and download the macross shows. Life was good. Or at least decent.
  6. The original Macross poseables were the same as the Robotech ones but only that they caried the original names and were boxed in SDF Macross labels though. They didn't use DYRL designs with those. At least from what I remember. Pretty much why they didn't sell since they were selling the same thing for a lot less under the Robotech label. At least the price is decent with this. But like I said in the legal thread. Wouldn't this open the door for Big West to release Macross products now. This would do away with HG trying to say it would confuse the market since this is clearly labeled Macros: DYRL? with the designs and everything, including strike cannon. That throws away the 20% rule doesn't it saying it would confuse buyers. If Big West owns the designs doesn't that mean they could very well released their very own version of the toys now or least further Macross products? I thought only the name of someone working at Tatsunko(the president) was in the credits for DYRL?. Was the name of the company actually in the credits?
  7. I was just about to type that. Think about it. If the person original got the rights from Big West, during that time other companies in Japan has to be releasing items, why would they give the rights over to someone else as well. Also wasn't the purpose of it being dubbed before was to help with learning english and then was released to the public? There would be no need to include product rights with something like that.
  8. I shoudln't have been that hard to create the strike cannon. Just basicly carve it out of one of the fast pack mold on the original versions. If it doesn't move that could very well be exactly what they did. Everything else is just repaint and with bit of scupting here or there.
  9. Hmm fiiguring this is true wouldn't this open the doors for Big West to release more Macross items in the states, namely Yamato and Bandai valks. HG could no longer use the excuse that it would confuse the market or claim they are to close to the ones used in Robotech since these are clearly maked as Macross with the different designs. Throws the 20% rule out the window right? Since Big West would be the one to own the designs couldn't they release them anywhere they wanted to?
  10. WTF, how in the hell can they do this? They don't own the designs, they don't have the rights to DYRL?, and that is clearly a strike cannon with DYRL? designs. They've blocked these toys for years now, what game are they playing.
  11. My god the new Lion King. One of my favorite scenes is the pouncing lesson scene. Great father son moment and then the silence and then pounce. The original was perfect but in the new version there is a damn song which completely ruins it. Glad to hear both versions are included. My mom has the new set but I haven't checked it out yet just saw it on the TVs in the store.
  12. That was a cool show. Don't know where to find it but if anyone does, let us know.
  13. Thanks. Will be interesting to see how they do with it. They've actually gotten better over the years. Their Yu Yu Hakasho(sp?) is pretty good. As for the DB series I don't really see a problem with it. Though I do hope they have added more voice actors to their talent pool, just to spice things up a bit.
  14. Anyone know if the Tenchi: Galaxy Police series has been picked up by anyone?
  15. This is a great series. I was turn on to it by a few people at another forum and then downloaded the entire series. Seriously I don't think there is one filler episode since things are constantly moving forward to either show plot points or character development for the characters. Medieval settings gets blured once you get into the middle of the story and towards the end. The relationship between Pacifica, Raquel and Shannon has to be my favorite out of all the different anime I've seen. The relationships formed by the other characters are great as well. I knew this was going to be one of my all time favorites when the DKnight appeared for the first time.
  16. Might be time to let someone else try their hand at things. Story from him or not.
  17. Ah I see. Just went back and reread the translations. My bad. Should be interesting though I wish it was a Escaflowne sequel or a new Macross series.
  18. Sucks it isn't Macross. Anyway, despite it sounding like every single Powers Rangers like show made I have question. Doesn't the fact that it contains big robots piloted by people pretty much go against saving the environment? All of those battles are going to do some serious destruction to the very environment they are trying to save. How are they going to actually use these things to save things. Its using force vs force. Things will get destroyed no matter what. Not to mention natural resources. Just something I was wondering about. Maybe I read it wrong. Question does SK have to even direct or be apart of a new Macross series for it to be good or for fans to accept it? I mean he could just have a basic story and designs, leave someone else in charge and let them(BW, etc) work while he goes off and does his own thing. That way it would still be from him due to the story but it would have a style of someone else.
  19. Not really true. The X-wing and Tie games were well done and popular. As was the first Dark Forces game where the character Kyle has no force powers at all. Then there are the Rogue Squadron games which are very successful. I'm glad we are getting this game though. I enjoy the Jedi Knight games but I've grown tired of force users over the years. To much use of them, well over use of them. Attack of the Clones anyone.
  20. I usually check the other forums I visit daily, that and I finally started playing Final Fantasy X-2, way better then I expected. Enjoying it more then I did FFX or FFXI, I do wish Wakka could be apart of my team though just isn't the same without hearing "ya".
  21. I really enjoyed Macross II. Was actually the first Macross I watched outside of the Macross Saga in Robotech. The dub is horrible and it can only be watched subbed.
  22. I know what you mean. There were a few ones that were violent. My favorite has to be the one with Goofy as Mr. Wheeler. Talk about road rage.
  23. Steel Battalion is the game that has that huge controller and cost around $300 right? I've always wonder if it was ever worth that price? Did the thing work with any other game?
  24. Interesting.
  25. MGREXX has been banned more then 20 times if I recall during his entire time at Robotech.com. He gets banned, says he is sorry and is allowed to come back by Steve, he acts like an ass and gets banned again, repeat. Bah, I can't believe I defended the forums as long as I did back in the day. Its sometimes really sad to browse those forums, though there are a number of cool and high quality posters there but with all the rest of forum you wouldn't know that.
