    What spots are you talking about with terminology and romanizations? I edited all of this and we were constantly checking the Mecha Manual, here, and the official subtitles (Vhirler, as strange as it may seem, /is/ official). We can fix 'em for next chapter and for the eventual batch release. Some stuff like "Zentra", "Fold Course" and air traffic controller were explicitly written out in katakana, so we didn't want to mess with it too much.

    Yeah, it's awesome. The translator (Logan) did the hard work, and he did a damn good job of it. Kodachi's prose is phenomenal and I'm so happy its coming through clearly. And yeah, summaries aren't everything. Lotta misinformation goes around, so I'm very happy to be getting the work out there to clear any up.

    I, PixelatedShinobi, am funding an English translation of Macross the Ride! Chapter 1 just released, and more will be releasing every month over the next 11-12 months! Macross the Ride was a prose series published in Dengeki Hobby Magazine from 2011-2012, accompanied by custom models by KuWa (Frameoutworks). It is a prequel/sidestory to Macross Frontier and follows Chelsea Scarlett, S.M.S. pilot, as she is sucked into the thrilling and dangerous world of Vanquish Racing in the Frontier fleet. It was collected into two volumes and two Visual Books, but aside from some work to translate the contents of the Visual Books, it has never been released in English. Until now!     Tbc, the minifigs aren't what I truly care about - I really would love a large-scale Helicarrier display to pose my micro-build robots on. I love the Helicarrier, to the point that I suspect it's why I find battleships so cool in mecha.

    I've wanted a redo of the original UCS Helicarrier for years, and now that we have it.... it's not really that much better, and it's $100 more expensive. Man. Man. I could probably swing this if it was $300, but $400 is just... more than is really worth it to me, even with those amazing minifigs.

    77,777 yen is a good bit but woof that's expensive. I believe it's about par for the course for JP boxsets, especially for full 4K remasters like this, but definitely going to wait and see if AlltheAnime puts this out in a few years.

    Roger. We found the illustration for Chapter 1 on their Pixiv (along with a TON of girls kissing) but it seems we'll have to find those individual print issues. It's a damn shame the digital distribution was never archived. I'd pay for it, if I could, I really would. Thank you for your help regardless! Look forward to what's coming!

    That's insane. I can't imagine spending that much on a hobby project. At some point I'll probably have to learn some basic Japanese myself, but today is not that day. I've already paid for the first chapter of The Ride, so expect it out in... early April? If you have any leads on those illustrations, it'd definitely help a lot for the future.

    The translator and I have already talked pricing, and it's at a very reasonable rate that I'm able to pay - although I will be setting up a small donation box after the first chapter releases to help alleviate costs.

    Hey, everyone! I'm coming to you all with a request for assistance, because I'm at the start of a huge new project, and need help to make it the best it can be. Specifically, I'm working with (paying) TrafalgarLog, a prolific Gundam translator, for a full translation of Macross the Ride, serialized from 2010-2011 in Dengeki Hobby Magazine. Log has the print bound versions of both 1 and 2, but we'd like to include the specific Chapter Illustrations (of which one is pictured below). However, these are only in black and white in the print versions, and to our understanding were only in Dengeki magazine and possibly their webpage. We only have 1 and 3. Does anyone here have old Dengeki issues with these illustrations and would be willing to scan them, or has scans already, or knows where scans or digital uploads could be found? https://bsky.app/profile/trafalgarlog.bsky.social (The translator's bsky, to provide some indication I'm not just bullshitting.     I've been building the excellent new HG VF-31J Siegfried, and the build process actually left me with a question about its weapons - what are the two little gold cylinders in the head? They appear to be laser cannons, but official specs for the siggie list only the head-mounted laser. Are these vents, or cameras, or something? I've no idea.

    Back on the topic of Macross M3 , I'm putting this forward on behest of the translator - does anyone have any strong opinions on what the ship Max and Milia are assigned to is called? I'm personally in favor of Algenicus, but we're also passing around Algenix, Argenix, and Argnicus. Has this thing ever had any official romanizations? What has it been translated as previously? Would help a lot.

    With an upcoming Macross M3 translation on the way, I've been thinking again about the game's "Final Weapon" - the, to my knowledge, unnamed Zentradi combining robot that appears as the final boss of M3. the Only art I've ever been able to find of it is a partially-lost split-up scan from "Nanashi's Information Group", a group that actually appears to be defunct and whose scan is as old as I am. This is the only mention I've ever seen made of it on the internet, and I'm curious if we have literally any other information related to it - I have no idea where the scan even came from.

    It's mediocre, but it's still exciting to see a translation patch of it at all - it does have a pretty alright story with some interesting implications.

    The Windermereans also start out with Deniable Operations low-vis black paintjobs in the beginning of Delta before Roid makes his announcement. I'd have to check but something's telling me Brera's Lucifer might also do something similar at some point.

    It's really excellent. The animations have certainly taken a quality dip due to how expensive modern game development is, but the /plot/ is the best in a decade at least, and backed up by a ton of very well-drawn CGs. Delta specifically has been given the usual SRW treatment of a "hybridized" approach, mostly following Passionate Walkure's major beats but using plot points and elements from TV to make it work in the unified setting and stretch out the movie's events to cover an entire game. This is the last thing some poor Var'd soldier saw before he died. But yeah, it's just an indication of how slapdash Passionate Walkure was and it's not like it's continuity breaking or anything. I must admit I never really even /noticed/ the black accents until SRWY, I had just always assumed the KAI was simply Hayate's custom reaper insignia. I hope we get a (presumably premium bandai) exclusive variant of the new High Grade with the KAI detailing.

    Here's something interesting/annoying (your pick, really) SRWY has got me thinking about the 31JKAI for the first time in a while, and I noticed something - it doesn't actually appear in Zettai Live? In the opening battle of Zettai Live against the Vivasvats, the Delta Flight Siggys are all equipped with LilDrakens in a fun bit of crosscultural cooperation - but interestingly, Hayate appears to have the wrong VF. Consistently (I've checked multiple shots), his VF appears to be his base 31J with LilDrakens equipped as opposed to his 31JKAI from the end of Delta TV. I'd think this is just a thing where they wanted to keep that exclusive to the TV anime, but (due to footage reuse at the end of Passionate Walkure), the 31JKAI *does* appear in the movie timeline. I don't think there's really a point to my post, but it's interesting, at least?
