  1. The literal answer at every convention that he/other toynami reps/HG guys have stated ever since the Alphas were first announced as the next MPCs.
  2. Simple, to the point, and something I'm not affraid to wear large on the shirt (always a bonus ) Cyc
  3. Their are still using the default Alpha nose/canopy, opposed to the series almost single piece canopy. And just to enhance the discussion... Fighter Battloid
  4. Agh crap. I pre-ordered the Superbit version to see how it looks. I imagine whenever they kill the franchise they'll release all of them again. Perhaps, but Raimi certainly doesn't make 2.5 sound all that vital... Cyc
  5. The one attached. Not the greatest, but you would know which I am referring to. In reply to Graham, the red is okay with me (and photography has a nasty habit of making colours look strange), but the head so have to be resculpted. Ick. The large Gakken toy was the only one to feature the head you're interested, everybody else has the head Toynami is using, the head as seen in the series. Cyc
  6. What choice do some of us have? Toynami is the only game in town for New Gen/Mospeada fans looking for new toys, and that isn't going to change for years, if ever. Cyc
  7. You don't pull the wings, you fold them downward at the shoulder, and then second half of the wing backwards towards the back. Unless you mean the tail fins or the leading edge extentions? On the pre/post 5000 numbering distribution, it seems even wackier considering every Alpha I've seen on sale in normal (aka non-importing) retailers here in Australia is pre-5000, where I would have thought we'd just get the dregs after the North American orders were taken care of... Cyc (disappointed that dispite the fact we got Mospeada Superposables and Scott MPCs... retailers got literally 2 New Gen I-men for every full box of Hanna Barbara I-men. Grrrrrr)
  8. Or sneak a peek at the walkthroughs, ton and a half already out there and less "cheaty" than cheat codes. If that makes sense... Cyc
  9. And they seem to be avoiding the outright Macross influence I feared. The uniform especially.
  10. *gets a far away look in his eye* Man... it scares me how long ago that was... Cyc
  11. I posted on occasion, though like here, my interest in Mospeada and lack of interest in Macross topics did limit my activities there...
  12. Their pre-existing Mospeada and Southern Cross ships, though the Mospeada ones have been "tweaked" for use in the new series.
  13. The 1/48 is a kit of it's time, is the best way to put it. It has metal shoulder joints, but the hips are plastic and thus a weak-point during frequent movement/transformation. It does has a 'perfect' no parts needed to be removed transformation... but the Legioss of the series relies upon a bit of anime magic for it's transformation, with parts compressing to a degree physically impossible in a model, so Imai had to fudge and balance the proportions so some modes look better than others, the nose hanging down too far in Armo-Soldier and the legs not compressing enough in Armo-Fighter. That's what we're refering to where the 3-in-1 kits look nicer overall, closer to the mecha as seen on the series. Cyc
  14. The pictures on the side of the box also show us a Armo-Fighter mode that looks wonderful, unlike the 1/48. Imai included missile pod with this Armo-Soldier kit too.
  15. Looks great, but I'm happy to wait for the PC version. In a world gone multiplayer, online gaming mad... it's nice to have a game just intended to be single player
  16. Well, if the MPC Scott has the same sales effect the MPC Rick did on the models to come, there is no chance of a MPC Beta... IMO of course... Cyc
  17. Could try to locate a Landsy Tread, but that's not much easier...
  18. Toynami have the worldwide, including Japan, rights to produce Mospeada toys, rights gained via Tatsunoko Productions in Japan and Harmony Gold everywhere else, so any Inbit toys would have to come from them. Yamato chose not to seek the license, so don't look to them as white knight for Mospeada fans. The Matchbox/Playmates/Harmony Gold Invid Shock Trooper toy is one of the most imported pieces of RT product by Japanese Mospeada fans, simply because there is nothing else that comes close, and it's a passable representation at best. While fans in west might not be happy at Toynami making another run with the molds, a Mospeada branded versions released via Epoch in Japan might clean up. That said it literally TOWERS over the MPC Alpha, and is seriously out of scale against the larger Gakkens too... Cyc
  19. Well, we are talking about a Robotech specific design, but I tend to attribute many Inbit traits to the Invid. Certainly better than admitting the Regent even exists... Cyc
  20. *points at pinned MPC thread* All covered up there in more than enough volume.
  21. Claims are they will be, but nobody knows if they'll be movable at whim or that you have to build them in the final position you them like all the other Voyager model kits.
  22. And the fact we do see them evolve and design new mecha in the series, the big Pincer/Gamo and the later Royal Command Battloid/Gosu along with it's Invid evolved into human form pilot.
  23. *insert standard magazine lead time explaination*
