Again I forgot to post here too, sorry 😕 I replaced the old display with a new touch display because I became very unhappy with the bad viewing angle of the old one. Decided to go full overboard and went for a touch display. Does even HDR but that doesn't really show in photos (figures) so it's not enabled most of the time. I also started working on my HUD app. Initially I had no touchscreen support in mind so I had to rewrite a lot of code. This forced me to take a closer look at the UI elements and I found so many bugs and optimized so much. Still in the middle of tweaking which is why there is _a lot_ of debug visible in the video. I'm very happy with the result:

Found the problem. Was one of these missing: d3dxof.dll , dmcompos.dll , dmloader.dll, dmscript.dll , dx8vb.dll - no idea which it was but that was the last bunch I installed that were missing. I'd put my money on `dx8vb.dll` though.

Which video? First? That's X4 Foundations with mods. PacMan? Probably yes 😛

Been a while since I updated this here too. It's still work in progress but the home cockpit learned a few tricks: I also gave a detailed tour in a live interview going over many of the technical details: I got a little bit distracted because I got my hands on an old ViperPit, that I'm considering to convert into a VF-0. Meanwhile I got Ace Combat 7 and found out about a VF-1 mod for this so I was mostly enjoying this after reviving the old input devices (rudder, throttle and stick were so old that I had to convert the hardware to USB-C first). Still slowly improving and upgrading it, oc. Got the additional display I always wanted to fit in there meanwhile: Let me know what you think 😎

I do. I managed to come this far but all the textures are missing and models rendered white. It's my understanding that this is a known bug of dgVoodoo2, that translates d3d9 to d3d12 (and that eventually to Vulkan for me), on AMD GPUs Played with all the options available on that but no dice. Any ideas? So close and yet so far.

Care to elaborate? Feel free to dm. Just asking because I find myself currently in a re-watch (and dead gods this aged badly).

I'm happy with that. We just re-renewed Disney+ anyway. Probably like most parents. And if there's a chance I can finally show this to my kids[1] myself I'm all for it. [1] Hoping for localised subtitles here, which is always a blocker for the little ones.

Thanks for the offer. I don't really have a need for this I made a rough model in Wings3D and that was enough to warm up the jig saw.The rest is really just me winging it.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. Some don't make the jump and run back in terror 🤓 Personally my last was WinXP when I was fed up with this. I guess not much changed for the better 😆

I wonder if this could be turned into a mod for X4 Foundations or something 🤔 They use Blender for their ship models and it's so well modifiable that people do total conversations for it - e.g. for Star Wars. One of my favourites for this is a BSG Viper.
