    I think the main reason is that it has such a broad, level, and featureless top side. It's literally just a flat and wide deck, and doesn't help that every pattern painted on it focuses on it's leading edges, which highlights its lateral width. That and the way the engines are always highlighted in black, as if some hot rod engine mod protruding out of a hood cutout. If it had more longitudinal patterns, body matching engine colors, and maybe some depthwise and vent like paintjobs like the shark gills on the YF-29 or vents on VF-0's airbrake, it would probably look more aggressive

    I'm being a broken record here, but I think Bandai has made their point through the lack of accessories with the YF-19's Revival and sprinkled that extra bit of salt on the wound with the inclusion of FP but only fold booster struts on the YF-21. They probably hate the idea of items in anyone's collection having accesories parity lol Maybe if they buckle their own trend to fleece people with Basara's sound booster, it will open the floodgates to more moaning have and Bandai go back and make right with these last few releases. But that's just me snorting a lot of hopium.

    Makes sense that a viewport screenshot doesn't have all the lighting of a render. I'm just nitpicking, don't take it too seriously lol.

    There's also Teal 171, RVF version of it, the movie version of that with twin fold boosters on top of the wings that never got any physical rendition, and their armored packs with the reaction and dimensional bombs. Then theres Michael's tornado, and then we loop back to Durandal, which IMO was what technically kicked off the revival era with minor tweaks through the Max version, although that one wasn't called a revival since it's a new paint job. If I was Bandai and trolling, I'd go for that Konig next lmao. I feel like Luca still has reasonable chances as long as they haven't announce the Durandal to wrap up the Frontier run, but it will be without ghosts, or only 1 ghost but no super pack to chase that shrinkflation trend lol. And then to piss everyone off, they will do a micro run of 100 very floppy YF-24 Evolutions, sold through lottery, at very reasonable prices comparable to retail items of the same weight, and then scrap the molds. Gotta feed the scalper market after all lmao

    That's just half the reason. The other half is Bandai just wants to mess with people by refusing complete collections. DX Valkyries are just one small thing in Bandai's list of highly sought after items they may or may not have prototyped and refuse to release. For example, the last two MG Age Gundams that they have displayed before have almost become a meme that the gunpla community goes to when it comes to unreleased items. There are tons of gunpla runners that are blatantly divided in ways that are prepared for alternate equipment variants that never get released, despite high demand. They'd rather randomly cook up a new and minimally different variant that nobody asked for, sometimes with completely new molds and runners for existing parts because it's more funny that way. Just look at the YF-21's fold booster struts in preparation for no fold booster release for an example of Bandai's type of sick joke lol

    I wasn't gonna say anything, but your original texture was a bit too yellow, and the correct does look closer to the model kit, although color correction has deep fried the grays and the shadows lol. Makina also needs more saturation on the level of Mikumo's purple or something to get that eye bleeding hot pink vibrancy lol. Maybe to a tiny degree, Reina too, but I feel like her scheme is mostly lacking because it's reliant on the lime green accesories that aren't from the actual valk, so it can't be helped. Btw some of the "transparent" backgound on their Walkure logos are somehow on the wrong layer and opacity or something, and are deleting parts of the white stripes.

    Nice work. Freyja reminds me of McD lol. Speaking of Freyja, I always found it strange that her outfit color is swapped with Kaname, based on how everyone is supposed to go by hair color. I feel like the whole "red ranger = MC" trope really messed up their color assignments, and it trickles down all the way to these VFG models. Kaname even gets shafted by having black and gray for secondary colors to go with her filler ranger color lol

    NGL this thing could have passed for a valk if they weren't so bent on having those oversized truck windshields hanging out the bottom of the fighter, and scrunching up the feet/thrusters closed just to fit in the folding wheels.

    Yeah, the first one's translation was weird so I couldn't make heads or tails of it and just ignored that statement. The rest of his tweets about it were neutral showcases so he didn't seem to say anything negative, other than that the molds are kinda old, iirc. But the second one alone can't be excused lol... Hope more impressions or reviews come out soon to clear things up.

    WTF bandai??? From the looks of the clip, it's not even that it's loose. The hip clip can't even reach its locking position so it just springs back... It basically doesn't even transform. Now I'm worried about mine, but I haven't got in stock notice yet. Classic YYK delays I guess, so I get to wait around and see if there's anything to do about it.

    This reminds me. I should really document my "interpretation" of the transformation to make it accurate in all forms, with ms paint or something, before I forget everything I thought up.

    I'm not saying Crossbone animation isn't in demand. I'm just saying, the lead Gundams being their primary merchandise, has been done to death, on every product line. I just don't see the remaining circus insectoid grunt bots being popular on the mass market, with those aesthetics of theirs in 2025. It just makes the whole idea of animating Crossbone to sell toys at this point seem rather unprofitable to me. If they want to do charity and feed the old fans with little return, I'm all for it.

    Crossbone should have been the brain dead pick, since a long time ago. But the problem now is that they've already milked it to death. I'm not sure anyone actually cares about the buggo and clow looking grunts, so theres probably little incentive to squeeze it anymore. Astray is in the same place imo. The one that probably has the best chances now is probably going to be Seed Eclipse. It's part of seed and part of their never ending anniversary celebration banner, it launched with kits as well, and they made it free to read with official translations on their gundam.info youtube channel, or so I've heard. It's ongoing too, so they could change gears and start pumping out marketable mechas and alt colors for easy cash grabs the moment they decide to go all in and animate it.

    I fully understand how dead in the water Gundam mangas are. I'm not saying it will get a show. Just addressing that it is their next immediate venture into tropey themes that they are throwing money behind, yet not fully commiting to it, exactly in the way you described. Just tacking on personal hopes that the writing does something I want to see, so that it could turn into something worth animating, not saying that has anything to do with plans for the project actually going anywhere.

    Well, SD Gundams with original stories are all basically fantasy already. Build Divers already had a dude stuck in the game, although that was somehow linked to a real alien planet. The next thing they seem to be pushing for, with a kit to accompany the launch, but don't have the balls to commit to animating, is the new Gundam Eight manga. Seems like it's some sort of post (alien invasion?) apocalypse survival thing. Something about the last 258 humans on earth using the lone Gundam to survive, and it looks like an ugly AF unpainted tryhard kit bash of conflicting geometry and a lot of pla plates. Since I have no hope of the mechs looking good, I'm hoping it's at least really about aliens, and they don't show up in humanoid mecha, or turn out to be space humans... It would be great if they go all in with the desolate space horror, and use ugly space monsters, since the gimmick is that the human head count is finite. Last thing I want to see is a kitbashed pla plate Zaku with a Char clone inside. Maybe if it doesn't suck, they will animate it.

    I'll admit, the got me good. They kept ass pulling new subplots and mechanics on the double, with steriods, through this finale, just so they could finally reached guren lagan proportions of joke. It took 11 eps to setup this masterpiece, but we finally got here. Spaceballs for gundam. I was laughing all ep.

    That's not them expositing to explain themselves and to close out the story. That was just them using old mysteries as a springboard to invent more new bs to add to the chaos.

    I think Kycilia's scheme is irrelevant until our MC trio finishes their tour on the other side and sends a paradigm shift back to change everything on this side near the end of my assumed second cour. The scheme is probably just an excuse for someone to build our kiddies a portal and give them a reason to fight over it until they both get sucked in.

    As far as I can tell, the signs are all there that this will end in zeknova, and the nonsense, or any semblance of real plot, will continue with a post isekai time skip to kick off a second cour. Everything up until this point has been proluge. The main duo has finally picked their teams and are about to confront each other on their newfound ideology. The train wreck blood fued in a foreign world starts when the show resumes in spring. There are 2 Chars and an Amuro over there, so it's a whole different ball game. If that's really where it's going, they may as well end this cour next ep instead of dragging out the reactor fight to reach 12 or 13 eps lol
