  1. the new grill helps a lot, next you should take the motor out, flip the heads around so the exhaust is on the top and the intake is on the bottom, have custom intake minifolds made, then have all of your exhaust plumbing routed from the exhaust head (which will now be on the top of the motor) directly into the turbo, and then you can utilize a front mount intercooler (since you'll have the turbo and intakes on opposite sides, this'll make the plumbing for a front mount vastly more efficient), along with KEEPING the hoodscoop so it blows cool air directly onto the turbo helping to dissipate heat (along with dissipating heat form the exhaust being on top). Not only does this make the design more efficient, but also it'll run cooler and won't have heat rising through the block but only through the head... Just an idea i've had for a while but no money to implement it (lots of tools, no money), plus my car is NA, i'll need a donor WRX or STI to help save time. Edit: Of all the things they did on the new WRX, the only thing i really don't like are the dual exhausts, i really liked the fact that they had always routed to a single exhaust.
  2. I voted 100 years, no reason inparticulars.
  3. Bale has yet to make a bad movie (at least one that i can remember), so casting him in anything is good IMO, of course i'm bias because he's one of my favorite actors, underrated IMO.
  4. and the YF-21 is bad good guy, or is it a good bad guy? Yamato needs to make more DYRL? bad guys and the X-9 Ghost for the Plus line.
  5. the difference with both of my jobs, is everyone surfs, boss' included, so as long as there's not porn (well hardcore porn, they'll let the google image search and gossip rag stuff slip by), you're good as gold. Also as long as you're not setting off bandwidth alarms (streaming movies and downloading bit torrents all day) then you're in the clear also.
  6. both of my jobs could care less if i surf, so i'm normally signed in very often. My jobs are far from demanding so while surfing isn't exactly "encouraged" everyone turns a blind eye to it... so long as you're not looking at porn.
  7. At first i thought this car was going to be worth every penny, but for about the same price (car+treatment) you can have Lingenfelter twin turbo your Z06 and it'll yeild 100hp and 100 torque more than the ZR-1
  8. you should have a complete list first, you're missing a whole lot of VF's to make this a valid pole, VF-2SS VF-MS VF-3000 VF-25 VF-171 etc etc. For me it's the new VF-25 or the VF-2SS
  9. mine is planted in a bit of both. I'll purchase something for nostalgia or if i really like a series, but i'll also make purchases based on design aesthetics alone.
  10. It'll probably have the same visibility as the C6 Vette, which isn't very good, but still drivable. The Vette has a very similar stance and arrangement as the Camaro (sitting in a wedge), so i imagine they'll probably have very similar characteristics; is the Camaro going to use the new LS3?
  11. It varies by state, and in some cases by county. If i go twenty miles south of where i live to Warrenton, they don't even have emissions testing, you can be driving a car with a jet engine and it wouldn't make shits different to them. As far as i know in VA, it's 25 years to be considered antique and then emissions is a none issue. As far as the new Camaro, i didn't like it at first but its growing on me. For some reason, i can't help but think this will suffer the same fate as the GTO, not based on its looks or performance, but it'll be priced out of reach of the people who want them.
  12. That's odd that the newer model was cheaper on your insurance. I agree with you on the 06 models being the best looking, the STI of that year also had sodium filled exhaust valves and longer sway bars which were both dropped in the 07 model year.
  13. heck yeh! If he gets lazy or doesn't get any buyers then i'm definitely picking that thing up. Who wouldn't want a 6.6 Liter V8 with 320lb/ft torque under the bonnet! As soon as you go to a higher flowing intake system that thing gains gobs of power; those motors are ridiculously detuned for road use and emissions for its time, and especially since it's now considered an antique car, you can do whatever you want to it and not have to worry about emissions testing.
  14. use nitrogen, it doesn't expand or contract as much due to changes in the weather. Going up or down a few psi so long as it is even on all four tires isn't going to hurt anything. Obviously if its uneven then you can get tire wear in bad places and if its really bad you can cup a tire, but using nitrogen to keep the expand/contract margins lower and checking the tire pressure on all four tires to keep them balanced is what's important.
  15. i've used denatured alcohol to remove paint from toys (transformers, GI Joe's, etc.), but can't say i've done it on a 1/48 so i dunno how it will affect the plastic.
  16. I was going to say that same thing, GT-S' make great drift cars, but i guess that's why i question the purchase of the HCR32 over the BNR32, to me it seems you could get the same drift results out of a 240SX but be saving yourself a whole lot of money (especially since the HCR32's are built off of nearly the same chassis as a 240/180sx). I always figured the whole point of owning a skyline (IMO) is to have the GT-R, to have the GT-S isn't bad, but a lot of the appeal is lost to me. Then again, to each their own, so the obvious advantages to the GT-S over a 240 is the motor. There are so many upgrade routes you can go it's not even funny, just make sure you set a budget for it since you'll want a little extra juice to get the tires fired up, and again, if possible try to get one with some upgrades already under the bonnet.
  17. Speaking of T/A's; I was talking to my coworker, and awhile back he inherited a '79 10th Anniversary Trans Am with the Olds 403. He isn't much into cars but was sharing the things that him and his dad had done to it before his dad had moved to Greece. The car is a few states north at his parents house, parked outside at the whim of the elements and he felt bad that he couldn't provide a proper weather free home for it. So i decided to shoot him an offer... of 3 grand. Keep in mind, this car is mechanically perfect, of course since it's outside, and it's a trans am, you can guarantee the body is going to have rust developing on the under carriage and the brakes and tires will likely need replacing, but other than that the car should be an easy turn over (either profit, or weekend car). He actually accepted the offer... problem is, he's one of the nicest people i know, not that fake nice, genuinely nice, so feeling bad for possibly taking advantage of him and knowing he probably needed the money, i told him the actual value of the car (based on rough estimate of condition and mileage) of about 9 grand or more. This obviously sent him back in his seat, but if anyone on the east coast is looking for a 79 trans, I know a guy who might have one for sale
  18. at least it wasn't a car company that people care about; if it were a truck load of Ferrari's or even higher model Audi's or something then maybe there would be tears shed, but VW's suck, they're doing us a favor.
  19. Wal-Mart has their 5 packs marked down to $17/piece also; i picked up an extra cobra legions (since i got one as a secret santa this year), and it looks like all of my local Targets restocked 'cause i picked up an extra firefly, and they had a bunch of figs from each wave (except wave 1) on the pegs.
  20. I'm crazy about the S15 Silvia also, i still hate that it they dropped the 240 stateside right as it was going to look its best. I've actually seen S15's imported through the kit car, and the show car method, i've always wanted one, and if you find one already in the states then it's prime for the taking. I wouldn't be surprised if the S15 failed the crash tests, the only reason the STI's pass crash tests here is because they welded a giant steel brace across the front of the car, i have a feeling something like that would have to be done to make Silvia's legal stateside. I always wanted to get an S15 Varietta (hard top convertible) with the latest model variable valve time with lift control SR20DET and the Aero Spec parts. People question why you would get a hard top convertible on what is essentially a performance car, but i think it's just fun and very uncommon, at least in this instance (of course if you gave me a hard top convertible option on any similar car i would probably think you're crazy, but the S15 has some of the sexiest lines IMO and a HT convertible would just add to its appeal). As far as the paint scheme, maybe you should wait for more art to be released for the show to start drafting out some stuff. Even then, i think it'd be better to try and keep things simplistic; do some splash art or collage on the hood, and then a few classy things closer to the fenders (keeping it slighted toward the rear fender usually looks nicer). I think blunt stand alone pieces on a blank canvas like the center of the door looks tacky, keeping it slighted closer to the fender or rear half of the door to the rear fender will allow a focal point to blend or fade how you see fit.
  21. they have all of the disks released individually, but i was hoping for a slim case box set to be released, i kind of like things that way for space reasons among other things (cheaper).
  22. I just finished watching FMP! & FMP?Fumoffu with the Mrs. and she loves it. Now i need to find a place that has Second Raid for a good price, any suggestions? Does anyone know if Second Raid is going to come out as a domestically released box set anytime soon? Also, are there any Arbalest figures? I know there's a revoltech ARX-8 Laevatein in the works, but what about the ARX-7 Arbalest? Any help is appreciated.
  23. Does anyone else get an updated MacII vibe from the mecha *ducks head*
  24. I did the same research since in a few years i also plan to "import" an R32 from Canada into states. As far as the NHTSA is concerned the R32 is an ILLEGAL car, not MotoRex or any other entity is able to bring them into this country as of last year due to a serious investigation prompted by Nissan USA and insurance companies. The most legit way to get one into the states that i've seen is to sneak across the border from Canada or have it imported from Japan as a motor and rolling chassis, and then go through the process of titling it as a kit car. This limits the miles you put on it each year, of course that can easily be bypassed through other not so legal methods also. As far as pricing, i've been seeing the GT-R's go for about 10-16 grand dependent on mileage and upgrades, GT-S i've seen are going for about 3-4 grand less. GT-S you're obviously missing out on the whole experience of owning an R32, no ATTESSA system, no RB26DETT; i think you should dump the GT-S idea and go right for the GT-R, and try to get one with an upgraded block, N1, OSG, etc., that'll allow you to push more boost through it. EDIT: To further expand on the importing laws, the ruling that allowed R32's R33's and R34's into the states was amended due to crash test data not being fully accurate. MotoRex in conjunction with another company only crash tested the R33, R32's and R34 crash test data is largely unknown. Due to these facts, the NHTSA amended the ruling to only allow R33's into the states, this of course, is expensive. I did some asking around, and you're looking at about 20grand on top of the cost of car and importing to get a GT-R legalized. There are some chop shops down in the FL area that'll do it for much less, and any GT-R's that currently reside in the states with legal titles are fair game, but as far as getting an R32 or R34 legally into the states is a big no-no unless you cheat the system.
  25. The point you're trying to make is well taken, but what others are pointing out are that your expressive terms are a bit over the top.
