By the way, the most recent post from the Baidu thread that leaked the box is... Which translates as: "The devils on the Macross forum in the United States have all smelled the smell and the statement is quoted from Tieba. It's so funny" (Tieba is a Baidu app) Apropos:

With how known this issue is, any serious collector wouldn't hold it against you should you decide to sell it. And if it didn't matter to you, you wouldn't have opened it. Really, there's no real reason for self-recrimination on opening it. That's for all on the fence.

I wasn't specific about the type of screwcap, but paper or plastic stickers are indeed screwcaps of a kind. I wasn't expecting plugs. I only commented in the vein of what fault could be found visually from the photos, and the bare screwheads on the legs are a tad unsightly.
-
Seems that the hold up might now actually be them not wanting to ship defective stock. I know that seems like glass-half-full optimism, but it may be the case they are being careful. Fingers crossed. Also, did you use a credit card to fund the PP transaction? It's a longer shot, but the issuer might decide in your favor on a chargeback.

While that may be funny to you, is the thought of me reporting to the ER with my fingers glued together amusing as well? Hmm? 😉

LP said something similar to me today. Basically they are waiting for Bandai, and that Bandai is "aware of the issue".

You may joke, but, if I had to pick out QC issues visually, aside from lack of screwcaps, the paint is a little flat in those photos. A latter repaint might be warranted. As of this moment, the deluxe is back in stock. The standard is sold out. (Oddly enough, the opposite was the case last night) https://showzstore.com/fg-model-fg-01-macross-vf1s-deluxe-version_p5471.html https://showzstore.com/fg-model-fg-01-macross-vf1s-standard-version_p5470.html Also, since this is still a preorder at the moment, you get second set of transparent mechanic-style covers in red. If this comes into stock later, it seems those are not included. (True for deluxe and standard at ShowZ at least).

Valkyrie Factory, if it's them, have shipped in bags, and brown shippers (without retail box) too, so I wouldn't put it past them. I really hope they forgot the screwcaps on this and they WILL be present...but I'm giving up on expecting that right now.

Well, the FuGu God Of Flame (Jetfire) Arcadia KO is now public. I'm gonna guess that doesn't help either.
-
I have a brittle VT-1 like that, and yes, I was reminded of it when I got my broken DX VT-1.
-
Ugh. Guess it won't be a last minute change to make them PF. Also guess this pushes back the SDF-1 as well, huh? Would be interesting if the Fugu "God Of Flame" KO comes out first now. EDIT: Speak of the devil. ShowZ just confirmed GoF will come this month.

I wonder if a new delay to any orders not shipped are due to the defect issue. Maybe there's a pause because Bandai is making promises of a resolution? Pie in the sky thinking, perhaps.
-
Sad, but true.
-
Could that be because they are coming through two different proxies?
-
Again, just to reiterate, there was NO NOISE of anything loose when I got mine.
-
Oh God...and I want one of those...or is it wanted?
-
Same. Certainly I rated them higher than LP. Ironically, since Schrödinger's Ostritch would more likely seem a Bandai issue, LP is faultless so far. Of course, we'll see what they offer.... Like @Sayroll, and especially after my AE experience, I'm not accepting being on the hook for this one.
-
I seriously hope you don't have any breakage. They just shorted me on a shipping compensation for an item they sent that wasn't new, but charged as such. They're sending me a replacement but they knew they had me against a wall here, and will only ship it at my cost (despite them acknowledging the fault was not mine). That will probably be my last ever order with them. Frankly, their site sucks, and they have no mailing list. I should have expected something else might be wrong with them before this, but lesson learned now.
-
Ain't touching until I hear back from LP first.
-
I wonder if I was the first to let them know now or not. Either way, it looks more and more like they need to contact Bandai now.
-
Obviously, I stopped from doing anything with mine when I saw the damage, and now wait for LP to hear from FedEx or Bandai, or both, but from what I can tell, it's gorgeous and everything I want from a VT-1 otherwise. If you could get one that's not damaged, I wouldn't dissuade you from grabbing it.
