Does anyone know if the ARMD prints on Shapeways are 1/4000 Hasegawa compatible? https://www.shapeways.com/product/TTSJNE8SD/armd-carrier?optionId=69793839&li=marketplace https://www.shapeways.com/product/CP87MACWN/robotech-macross-armd-carrier?optionId=66932084&li=marketplace I want to customize a kit with Cartoon series versions eventually.

i never really noticed before that the bridge of the DYRL Macross is smaller than the TV version. So, if humans are the same scale, that would mean that the DYRL ship is just larger than the TV Version?

Not horrible. The bendy foldy bits are a nerve killer. even touching them they fell apart. i'm sure when its painted, you'll see some glue goop i had to put in to hold them together. I invested in a new, better hobby light. a magnifying ring lamp with daylight bulbs thats been making things possible. ITS FUN THOUGH. I love building things. I've pretty much put 3 other car kits on the back burner. I had a $25 Ebay gift for 25 years of membership, so i got another Etch kit for my TV series kit. Now I don't have to mix and match, and I can detail them BOTH up.

Same. THere are prints on Shapeways, but i have no idea how they would scale. I'd love to get a series accurate ARMD set to go with the Daedalus and Prometheus.

the panel isn't going to come off like in other builds, i just wanted something you could see through the windows. I'm going to look for a cooler light ( blueish) not that happy with the glowing orange.

That first one is amazing. he went way further than i was intending. I just wanted to make something you could see in the windows, without taking the panels off, but now i wanna try. LOL

So, i switched builds until i get the attack mode, and the photo etch to build the cartoon version, but i was thinking what it would take to open out the clear parts and build the city inside the DYRL ship like you see in the intro. I don't have access to a 3D printer, so i'll need to do it scratch. Has anyone done this before at this scale?

I do not, however, i discovered that Martha Stewart brand spray paint in French Riviera gloss is an almost perfect match

This arrived today. FAster than expected from Japan. Now just waiting for some mold making resin and the attack mode kit. Looking into the Revell kit now too.

this one seemed fine. many thin coats of tamiya acrylic. plan is today to paint the Battloid mode. The arms were a pain to assemble. I see close similarities between the two. almost like the same guy designed them both, but had two different casting method requirements.
