Does anyone have a scan of the Tenjin illustration of the Kai covered in whale pollen? Heard about it from Ren and yet I cannot find that im age anywhere online.

Technically speaking, masking out the eyes and then spraying this thing in red would be an easy and completely accurate custom. Hmmmm.

Well, they're in the line art as far as i remember. In the show I think they secure the boosters to the shoulders and that they're supposed to be magnetic. But that's just what I think I remember.

Planning on getting around to that soon. It's very Heath Robinsoned though. The most nerve-wracking part was prying open the boosters as they don't easily disassemble. Is the "focus" remark a comment on my photographic skills? Edit-the mod does require cutting into and drilling holes in an already expensive toy. Just a bit of warning.

You should see the new one i'm working on. Speaking of new projects..... WORKING SOUNDBOOSTERS, BABY!!! The new speakers are not exactly anime-accurate but I actually prefer them. They sit further forward than the originals but the shell still closes soundly. You can see the mini-jack hidden in the thrusters. There'll be one on the other side as each pod houses its own speaker. Just didn't want wires exposed. Means I use a split cable when I plug them in.

Y'know, after spending a little time with it last night I actually like it a lot more. I still think there are areas which could be better. And as for the acid-excreting fingers, I wear gloves when I handle my valks now.

In all honesty, i'm a little let-down by the Sound-Boosters. I understand why it was priced at around 10,000yen but it still feels like i've paid a lot for very little. It's annoying that the pistons which lower/raise the top covers are not actually working pistons. Big cheat. The inclusion of the teeny Basara figure was nice but they could have put a few extras in there. Maybe some pin-point barrier add-ons for the Kai. Already looking at speakers that might work in this thing. Problem is it's all glued together.

Yep. And if they can make those, extremely well made figures for Votoms (which seemingly noone really cares about) then i'm sure they could justify a set for Mac7. Limited, online exclusives or not. Actually, those Votoms figures were damn nice. I have the Chirico. May have to get the Fyana.

I can't believe that Yamato is giving out replacement pieces to fix the lights on the wings but not to fix the ankles. I question Yammer-toe's priorities on this one. Gimme ratcheted ankles. I couldn't care less about the switched lights. Also, I know I already posted these in the "Pose" thread, But is there any chance that Yamato would be interested in doing some actual Basara figures. The options alone on the stage outfit would make a great figure. -Regular outfit -Space walk variation -Boosted up version I'd even take a Bandai version. I just want some official articulated Basara figure.

The "pollen" version will most likely be an online exclusive if it's released at all. Even then I think it would have to be a remold. I think I remember the single visor magically turning into two eyes when he gets, ahem, covered.

Finally. And i'm hoping it's the clean version and not the "pollen" special. Now, here's hoping graham has passed on the feedback regarding the ankles to Yammer-toe.

I know Graham is going to yet again accuse me of secreting acid from my fingertips, but my Kai has the worst case of leprosy imaginable. -The thrusters in the ends of the shoulder pads fell out one day while I was out -The blue crest on the mohawk simply fell off the other day after touching the toy for the first time in a month. -The panels on the backs of the shoulders are always coming off at the slightest touch. No glue issues here as with the above but still very annoying.

That's the problem. I'd barely touched the SDF. And I had been extra gentle with it from day one the moment I noticed those teeny things. My finger simply brushed up against the antenna and it came off. The other antenna has that stress marked I mentioned. I havn't had a chance to look at the box to see whether this is caused by the packaging though. -

Goddamnit!! I broke my 1/3000 SDF. Those little antennae at the back are made from the most fragile plastic. I don't know why they couldn't make those from the same plastic as the ones on the bridge. One broke off and the other has some serious stress marks. -
I'm not making any judgments on these photos based on Renato's information, which i'm inclined to take sodium-free. Impossible to know what's photoshopped or not at the moment.

I really hope the die-cast pieces don't make it impossible to install working speakers.

Actually, i'm going to shave quite a bit off the back of the intake covers and see if I can get some kind of turbine detail in there. The covers themselves are very thick, unlike the vf1's.
