    Many we've heard the 5, 7, 11, and 13 referee to by their hull number but the 21 and 25 are the Galaxy and Frontier. So maybe the others had names but more people just used the hull number which coincided with the fleet number. And really at this point Macross seems to be more the designation of the concept equivalent more to battleship or carrier.

    Its still the Macross that is it's name. The rest of the Macrosses are using it as a class name like what ahappened with the Drednought. Unless battle 1 was actually named New Macross and that is why that class is called the new Macross class.

    In all seriousness though Roid talks as if the protoculture as if they were benevolent elders who left guidposts behind for their children. However we as fans know they eradicated themselves and nearly all other life in the galaxy and left behind traps in case their erstwhile playrhingsbstarted to become dangerous. The most benevolent thing left by the protoculture so far has been a warning not to be like them.

    So I think I just figured something out. Roud is right the windemerians are the true heirs to to the legacy of the protoculture. Because remember the true legacy of the protoculture is that they were a bunch of self destructive asshats.

    I thought Clark was "Sufficiently andvanced technology is indisringuosable from magic." the one I have was a riff on that in a book with actual magic. And yeah while macross phyisics and tech are probably better explained with magic the same can be said for most sci-fi but the fold resonance/Anima spirita stuff is full stop magic.

    I'd say their shield drones fit the bill. Also they are magical girls all the fold resonance stuff is magic. Being able to kinda sort sometimes guess what it will do with hypertech does not make it not magic. "Sufuciantly advanced magic is indistinguishable from technology." I really wish I could remember what book I stole that from.

    My favorite part is that the glass jets are an inferior track for the purpose than available anti-grav. So their using less advanced and sillier looking tech to look less like strait up magical girls.

    Yeh we've wondered what the physical gear looked like. I don't think anyone pegged it as quit that ....... minimal..... ye minimal works.

    I'd say it looks most like diamond force's flight suit with the big upper chest and shoulder piece replaced with the mid back diamond shaped thing. So an EX gear comparable update of the special forces gear?

    It would be cool if that was the reason for the conversation with Casim next episode they strike at a core world get their hat handed to them barely make it out alive and he realizes they just pokedcthe bear with a stick. Somehow I doubt that will happen though. But I can just see it fold in see a pair of battle class and a few thousand VF-24's..... Don't mind us just passing through.... Fold out.

    Why is the million dollar question. Mind controll is the most reasonable explanation at this point ( ain't that a hack of a statment) but seems a little easy.

    I images the some glass is tough enough that most micro metiors bounce and I'm not talking a city wide siren I'm talking an alert in maintenance logs so after you've had an infiltration you can narrow down what it might be and alert security if a similar breach happens again. This type of thinking is probably why my players prefer brute force to stealth when I GM.

    I'd say having holes put in your ship not causing some sort of alarm a failure in security. I'm not saying getting the odd agent abord should be impossible just that the regularity in it happens points to somewhat porus security. Also the Sharon thing totally counts the number of people in with hooking an AI into the Macross's system points to an institutional missunderstanding of how security works.

    On the one hand yes they have to worry about 3 dimensions on the other they are in a sealed system with rather difinitavly limited access points. And while that's physical security yes I don't expect their information security to be any better (and wasn't as much of a thing when the shows were made.).

    Well security in macross has always kinda sucked. I mean 7 had multiple alian infiltration and the Frontier had a whole bloody vajra hive Isamu's shenanigans never mind Sharon's pointed to some serious security issues. Hell that no dots were conected in regards to the Var shows serious issus with security and whatever passes for the CDC.

    So am I just crazy orvaew the knights launching a strike on Earth? The twins and Bouge were talking about a strike at the heart of the NUG and then told the red shirts to hold the fort while they were gone. Then the Khights were seen in a non SS Mindcontroll ship for the first time.
