  1. It is slim chance these days going by their current release pattern, but I hope Bandai also move on to revive the non-heroic schemes.

    The YF-25 Prophecy is one of my earliest valks, it is now yellowed as heck. I dug up an old pic back when it was new and re-processed it, and to me this one of the best schemes of any valk.

    I'd completely forgotten that I've already preordered and paid for her :D

    It'll be interesting to see how this Dana Sterling matches against the KidsLogic 1/6th scale version, which I dearly love.

    I hope they show the redesigned Dana soon. What's odd to me is that figures with fabric are supposed to be their new 'premium' line, and they are upgrading it when costs are already going up quite a fair bit in these times. I suppose it will be a good bonus for those of us who PO'ed early, but I expect the MSRP to jump quite a bit when the re-tool is shown.

    - Get a dark colored Valk;

    - Leave it exposed to dust for at least a year;

    - Wipe off excess dust;

    Viola, grey panel-lining for your Valk! :D:

    Lol natural weathering for the valk.. This stealth paint scheme will never get old. :good:

  4. The matte metallic red is unexpected, but I like it. To me it looks better than the photoshopped pics they used for PO, and now I'm thinking of putting in an order, but then I remembered ThreeZero is also coming out with a 1/72 VF-1..

    So, Dana figure to be out in April 2023. Rick in orange jumpsuit to be released this month itself?

  5. Thanks @Angesdad & @no3Ljm :hi:

    . . . Add it to the list of items Bandai needs to release. <_<

    Speaking of things Bandai will take forever to release, I'm glad I took the plunge and fixed this old pup up when I did:

    Is it modded? Just it being able do an A-stance makes a whole world of difference and gives it a more modern look. :good:

  6. Wasn't very happy with a previous SV-262Hs pic, so went ahead and re-did it.

    I'm not familiar with in-universe mechanics, but it appears the 'eyes' for all the valks in Delta are self-illuminated? This as compared to Frontier, whereby although some scenes show the eyes / lens light up, it is more akin to external light reflecting off them instead..

    Love it! :wub:

    Like I said before, this one really deserves a 1/60th scale DX Version. What are you waiting for Bandai-san? Drop the Fire Bomber and Omega One projects, and do this one instead. Now! Pronto! :spiteful:

    I am pretty satisfied with the HMR, but DX is always welcome! Part of me though, wish Bandai would continue the Macross 2 HMR line. Really want them to do a VF-2JA, and eventually a Zentran VF-XX as something different. Hate to think that Macross 2 valks are looking to be on a long hiatus yet again..

  8. Couple of leftover pics from when I was messing with the HMR VF-2SS not long ago... One other thing I like about the cockpit canopy, is that although it is green tinted, it is still quite transparent and hence can make out the details within, rather nicely for its scale. Take that Chogokin 31!

    Really is bug-eyed looking, sorta like those Super Sentai masks/helmets. 😅

    Ah gotcha :lol:... with the head, and shape of wings hanging off the back, the whole VF-31F look just gives me moth vibes overall.

    Ever since the release of the VF-25 I knew this was coming where VFs were going to resemble insects. This turned me off of Macross for a couple of years, or at least the current at the time series.

    Good thing it was only through the V.1. Once the designs grew on me it was easy to dive into the V.2.

    The thin body & limbs sort of mirrored Kawamori’s own fashion sense I guess? Lol..

    VF-25 was still very acceptable to me when I first came across it, but with the VF-31, just that big hump on the back throws the overall proportions off quite a bit. Its not really back kibble in TF toys kind of way, but it sure looks a lot like it…

    I didn’t know the 31 had a Super Sentai mode. 😁

    Not sure what you mean, but is it regarding the crotch flap?

    I think I inadvertently bumped it out too far whilst moving the toy into place for the shot, & didn’t notice until well into processing. :lol:

    Those old CMs figures are still great to have.

    Thanks for the reminder of just how cute some of the characters came out.

    They are really oldies but goldies. Molding isn't very sharp by today's standards, but that's ok because when we first watched TV/DYRL Macross, chances was it was all in its grainy glory on whichever media it was in then, so these figures kinda followed in that vein. ^_^

    Initial D: Stage 5(?) reference @MKT? Love the Series and watched all the  stages (although it’s the butchered version).

    I actually like the 3 inline cylinders more: Honda Beat, Suzuki Cappuccino, Daihasu Copan, Nissan Figaro etc.. Quirky yet, interesting.

    Edit: Added missing details

    Yeahh it is a loose reference to Initial D.. I loved it too, it was what started my love for driving at that time, and my cars are still manual / stickshift-only till this day. Stage 4 was prolly peak Initial D for me; Stage 5 was pretty forgettable though.

    I agree 3-cylinders are interesting for those cars in that era. Because 3-cylinders were almost exclusive to very small cc engines, they were always installed on very small & lightweight rides that are slowly becoming extinct in today's environment. It's a good thing this engine configuration still being developed on & soldiers on in top applications such as the GR Yaris.

    Treatment-wise, I think it is. The production of the Zero is higher because it's a limited OAV episode release compared to a regular production series. Frontier/Delta only showed 'weathered' when the Valks gets hit upon returning to the hangar or for a 'focus shot' at the end of each battle. Most of the time, it's a clean out of the factory color renders.

    Perhaps there are fly-through jet wash  & wax tech by Frontier’s timeline onwards. :crazy:

    But yeah Zero has such a lengthy production time. Budget non withstanding, they could add as many details as they wanted, and now thinking of it, it’s kinda crazy to wait half a year for each short episode to release, especially in today’s world of whole season dump in streaming.

    Right out of his Artistry of Macross book.  No idea how Hase conducts their business.

    Now that I think of it, are the Mac Zero valks about the only weathered color valks shown on screen? Those in Frontier or Delta don’t seem to be..
