Episode 105 is up and covers a recent official fan club event, the Macross the First reboot, and some Yoshiki Fukuyama gigs.
Please excuse the background noise on this one ^^;
http://www.decultureshock.com/speakerpodcast-ep-105-deltama-mission-3-3/The change of the Official Fan Club name is telling indeed, although I guess it really is no great surprise. The Delta is dead, long live the Walkure.
As mentioned, it will be interesting to see how the Delta series and Passionate Walkure are perceived by future fans, without the concerts and ancillary events & materials (as something new to anticipate/experience). Time will tell...
Thanks to Renato for the explanation of Honne, Tatemae, and Hadaka no Tsukiai.
Also, always great to hear Karice's point of view as someone who clearly appreciates Anime but is not as steeped in Macross miscellany.

Until ofcourse next week's preorder frustration's post for not securing one due to spinning rainbow ball, webpage not loading properly, cartjacking, etc, etc.
Very true, although I haven't had any issues with past orders (thankfully). Here's hoping this one goes as smoothly.

This episode - we're still talking Walkure!
http://www.decultureshock.com/speakerpodcast-ep-104-the-walkure-talk-wont-stop/Just finished listening to the most recent SpeakerPodcast. Thanks for all the additional concert details.
Curious as to why the creators/producers of the show wouldn't continue with Delta instead of creating a new series, especially considering the popularity of Walkure? Seems like there's an opportunity to continue the series at this point, although some may be looking forward to something new/different.
Perhaps, as you guys indicate in the Podcast, Wakure's idol fans don't necessarily cross over to Delta (which is peculiar). It will definitely be interesting to see where Macross goes from here, especially because of Walkure's popularity.
Thanks again, and as always...looking forward to future Podcasts.

Yeah, that's all it was. It was last year this same time that the Defender was announced.

There’s no calendar that I’m aware of, primarily because many events use different ticketing services and most will not sell tickets to people without a Japanese address or credit card.
And it’s almost impossible to just walk in off the street as many dont have tickets available on the day, unfortunately.
For any major events though, we mention them in they cast when announced and also tweet them, for what it’s worth.
Interestingly, there’s no major, Macross-centric events coming up at all in the next few months -not that have been announced anyways. Presumably they’re giving the fans some time to recover after the craziness of the last two months.
Thanks for all the detailed information Tochiro! I'll be sure to keep a closer eye on the twitter feed and listening for upcoming events in future Podcasts.
I think I'm most interested in getting a chance to see DYRL in a theater one day. Very jealous of GiantRobo's 35mm screening sometime back.
Had a chance to finish up the Podcast tonight, and hearing about everyone's experiences from different sections of the arena, of the separate shows, and their favorite songs was great. Thanks for getting everyone together to share their thoughts.
Also, glad to hear that GiantRobo is coming around: Kaname's always been the best.

After months of anticipation, Walkure's 3rd concert "Walkure Won't Betray You", has finally happened! This episode we grab as many fans as possible to talk about it. The result was utter chaos - so it's just like being there!
http://www.decultureshock.com/speakerpodcast-ep-103-eventers-assemble/About half way through the Podcast, and it sounds like the concerts were a blast: May'n, the floating/moving see-through stage, pen-lights galore!
When you have a moment, and if available/possible, what other upcoming Macross and/or Macross related events are currently scheduled that a fan should keep an eye out for?
Also, is anyone out there currently keeping a calendar of Macross-related events that they'd be willing to share? Thanks in advance!

^You guys are on a roll this month. Just finished listening to Episode 101 the other day and now this one's ready and waiting. Thanks so much for the time and effort put forth on all of these. Truly appreciated!!!

^Ditto. Thanks for sharing all of the photos from Wonder Festival. A lot of great items.

Although there was nothing indicating it would happen, I was really hoping there'd be an announcement this week for the next HMR Macross release. Oh well.
Here's hoping March holds some good things for us.

This episode - the SpeakerPODcast Crew checks out a Macross exhibit located 500m above the ground! And has a not-so-successful experience recording there ^^;
Tune in to learn more!

^Sweet! Must be something else to see it in a theater.

Question is this episode of the podcast spoiler-iffic? I know, that sounds like a stoopid question, especially since we've all seen the series, but if there are big changes from the show, that might lead to big things, will they be spoiled in the cast?
Oh yeah, not just spoiler-iffic...but spoiler-tastic and spoiler-normous. Definitely avoid if you don't want to know everything in detail.

Looking back to early 2017: There doesn't appear to have been a Macross HMR announcement in February, although the Defender was announced in the middle of March.

So, no HMR release in February or March. We've got the VF-1A Super Valkyrie in April, and HMR is releasing the Techroid Blader in May...so next Macross release in June (or later)?

The DYRL paint jobs bore me to death and I'll probably sell all my HMR DYRL toys off when the line is dead some day and I've taken a few required group shots... but I'll probably hold on to the Elint and SuperO. I sold off my Yammys to make room and I definitely regret it.
Reading this completely bummed me out. Maybe because it was your reviews of the HMR line that got me collecting.
Oh well, I'm happy with the HMRs I've picked up, and still looking forward to a few more.

But why is Adrian having a sh#t attack?

I don't know any of the details, but I'm hoping this Valkyrie Project doesn't affect the HM-R line (negatively that is). I'll be bummed if they drop HM-R for something else entirely.

Bandai's website currently shows a list price for the VT-1 as 9,720¥, so HLJ's 9,000¥ is a bit of a discount (10%)...although nothing like the other vendor discounts.
Looking back, Bandai listed the upcoming VF-1A Hikaru Super as 9,504¥. HLJ's listed retail is 8,800 (a discount of 7.04%) and they're actually selling it for 8,360¥ (a discount of 12.04%).
So, I don't think HLJ is really off their own mark, just when compared to other retailers. Ultimately just happy I was able to secure a pre-order.
Here's looking to the future, and hoping the Tomahawk is announced before the end of the year! That's the one I've really been looking forward to.
*sorry. This was in response to amptor's "9000 yen at hlj lol" comment.
