That’s what I thought to, cause there’s a gap there but it won’t budge when I push on it

I had the same issue with my VE-1.

I don't recommend pushing too hard on the fuselage because the piece of plastic that attaches it to the body is actually incredibly thin.

I decided to remove the fuselage, however it was a frustrating and nerve wracking task.

I recall using an x-acto knife to slice through as much of the adhesive attaching the fuselage to the body, however due to the tight fit I couldn't separate the pieces entirely.

So, I ended up removing the nose cone and splitting the fuselage down the middle in order to loosen the remaining adhesive. Splitting the fuselage will most likely break the few pegs that actually hold it together (as more adhesive was used on those).

Once I was able to remove the fuselage, I trimmed the plastic spurs that ultimately led to that annoying gap.

As difficult as it was dismantling, putting the fuselage back together proved even more problematic due to the section between the nose cone and the cockpit. That is actually two separate pieces with a closed hook inside that is used to attach it to the cockpit section. If/when you separate the fuselage, that loop/hook inside is going to be broken. Hooking that back on to the fuselage took the most effort due to the small space inside. I could have just glued it back on, but on the off chance that I ever decided to dismantle it again I decided  to avoid using adhesive there.

I'm glad I was able to remove my gap, but in retrospect I probably should have just learned to live with it...because there were a few places where dismantling it could have resulted in a complete loss.

Happy to provide any additional information to help.

There hasn't been an announcement about that. Please, keep in mind that items tagged "Display Only" not necessarily get released. That's the lesson the Tomahawk gave us.

    :(

    Agreed!

Max was in his 1S when he squared off against Miria in DYRL, that would make a good pack also. They may be able to tweak it for a Frontier Q-Rare also.

This would definitely make for a great two-pack.

The Regult Scout will be an awesome addition to the collection if/when it gets released, but first...TOMAHAWK!

  5. Looking over the past releases, I just realized there were only two HMR Macross in 2019: the VF-4 in March followed by the VF-1D in April.

Here's hoping we see a few more in addition to the VF-4G in 2020.

  6. So glad to see another HMR release announced. It's not a Tomahawk, but at least the line is still alive...and that keeps the hope alive as well.

It will be a shame if they don’t produce a tomahawk for this line. I believe the tomahawk shares its legs with other destroyers, right?

I may not get the leader valks in the HMR, but I hope they do the Tomahawk.  Other than  that I’m only missing the spartan. Please Bandai, you have made the most complete macross line in history, possibly.  Just finish it !

It was the idea of the Tomahawk that provoked me to start collecting the HMRs...along with Jenius' video reviews of the line.

Glad that I was able to pick up some other cool Macross HMR items, but I'm definitely going to be bummed if there's no Tomahawk.

These are all awesome. The filter/animation makes me of Richard Linklater's movie adaptation of Philip K. Dick's 'A Scanner Darkly'. :)

    HMR train....

This is brilliant, although I feel like the HMR train should be under maintenance or being inspected. :)

Just keep on wishing on HMR. If calculations are correct any indications on new releases would be September or wait till the tamashii event in end October...

Sounds like it's going to be a long summer of waiting for those of us solely on the Hi-Metal R Macross train.

Some say Misa is the right one!

Bandai included the wrong stand adaptor for the VT-1 Fastpacks. I need to find my Hikaru HM and use that stand.

I do like Minmei too, but she is only in my mind, when the fast packs are on...

Yeah, I agree actually...Misa is the one.

I find that having the Fastpacks on also helps hide the orange issue. :)

Congrats on your new Max as well!

It almost looks like that fuselage is removable.  Maybe there is glue in the way of pushing it in so the glue would need to be cleared somehow.

I just finished removing the fuselage, disassembling it, cleaning off the excess glue and/or plastic nubs, and then reassembling it. Difficult and frustrating at times, but the gaps are gone and the fuselage is now locked in where it should be.

Even more respect for the people putting these things together for us, and thanks to everyone here who has shared their past projects, particularly sh9000: seeing your separated VF-1D fuselage inspired me to give this a shot.

Yeah, I'm wondering if I can remove the fuselage without any serious damage, clean up the connection, and give her a tighter fit. Thanks!

I've been trying to close this gap behind the cockpit and the body/chest plate without success.

I think the real issue is how the cockpit/nose of the plane is attached. I'm basing this on that visible space beneath the pilot in the backseat. Looks like it wasn't pushed all the way back before the glue(?) set.

Is it possible to remove the cockpit/nose of the plane and reattach it more snugly?

Any thoughts or suggestions on how to fix this are appreciated. Thanks!

    Thank you @RDX17.

As for the intake covers, I always use close since line art and models show them closed.  This might also depend if in or outside of oxygen based atmosphere for the turbine.

Incredible pictures as always Saburo. Thanks for sharing these.

Regarding the air intakes, should the covers be deployed in Gerwalk or should the fans be exposed?

  18. Another great Scorched Earth Toys review!

I wasn't able to bring the wings completely forward in Gerwalk mode as the shoulders are so high, and only realized after watching the video that they don't need to be locked in.

Here's hoping we get some good Macross HMR news now that Golden Week is over.
