Doesn't matter if one gets the VF-2SS first or the 19 Kai. Because whichever you get first, the other will come next. :spiteful:

    Haha! Too true. :)

Or they'll show everything we want since they already have it and then just not actually sell it.

The truth hurts so much. :)

So, there's the VF-19 Kai releasing next month, then the VF-4 reissue... And that's it?

I'm a bit concerned about this line. There's been a lot of teases, but no actual announcements.

The entire Hi Metal R line will have had a total of six releases this year, once the VF-4 III is released in October. Three of which are from Macross. To be fair, the VF-4 III is a re-release though. So, that's two new HMR Macross releases this year, which, when compared to the last few years is on par.

Two Macross related HMR releases in 2023, one in 2022, nothing in 2021 (?), one in 2020, and two in 2019.

And they may still announce something else before the end of the year.

    Keep the faith. :)

I have an island to sell you...=P

I'd be happy with just that long-teased Tomahawk. Come on Bandai, put me out of my misery! :)

40th Anniversary of DYRL coming soon.

Release the HMR Tomahawk and Phalanx, DYRL Nousjadeul-Ger, and DYRL Queadluun-Rau Milia.

    I want to believe!

I've still got a couple of Yamato Tomahawks (the original release and the green one), which are still fine and not broken. So the Arcadia is an easy pass for me.

But yeah, also hoping that Bandai eventually releases an HMR Tomahawk.

I've been on the fence about the Arcadia release. I love the model, but am horrible at sticker application, which is why I'd like a Premium Finish.

A HMR Tomahawk would be ideal though. That's the one I've been holding out for.

Nice Tenjin box art as always.  Looking forward to completing Vermillion Platoon.

And looking forward to seeing any future displays you'd be wiling to share...so I can live vicariously through your collection.

Tomahawk, Tomahawk, Tomahawk! Come on Bandai, put me out of my misery. :)

So is Bandai not releasing another stand-alone Hikaru 1J? I thought that image above wasn't the GBP release or the older Hi-Metal R stand-alone release, I thought it was a new one, again. I'm a bit confused too, which Hi-Metal 1J is in the promo image above with the rest of Vermillion?

As for the VF-1J (Hikaru) in the promo image, as others suggested, it looks like it might be the VF-1J ARMORED VALKYRIE (Hikaru Ichijo) Revival Ver. being used.

That is correct.  The original Armored VF-1J is also not a TV version or TV VF-1J Hikaru.

The TV VF-1J Hikaru from the VF-1J Armored Valkyrie Revival has the correct cockpit tint.  The one in the announcement image is either this version or a future TV VF-1J Hikaru Revival.

Time will tell whether Bandai releases a TV VF-1J Hikaru Revival or expect people to just buy the Armored Valkyrie Revival.

Thank you sh9000! (and Jenius too) :)

Would not surprise me in the slightest.  Bandai teases anything and everything they can make easily, with no regard for what will ever actually get produced.  It's been so long, they were probably part of the initial HMR announcement display.

To be perfectly honest though, I'm really not interested in more "DYRL" HMR VF-1s, because they'll just be more of that boring gray plastic, instead of the bright white they used on the TV Hikaru VF-1S.  At this point, it'd probably be more effective to just pick up extras of the 1S, and repaint the stripes.

Yeah, I get what you're saying, but I'd still like to complete the DYRL VF-1As with their super-parts.

So many whites lol.. all we need now is a version of white that’s pinkish like Arcadia :p

Still, it’s not only if the white of the standalone HMR 1J will match the rest of upcoming Vermillion team, but the cockpit tints greatly differ as well.
The standalone 1J has a very blue cockpit tint, as opposed to grey/black, so it will stick out like a sore thumb if intend to display the whole team in Fighter together.

I didn't even consider the cockpit tint.

It does make me wonder what version of Hikaru's VF-1J they used in the announcement image. Probably the one from the recent Armored release.

Yeah I would recommend the TV VF-1J from the Armored Valkyrie Revival set.  The bright white will match the TV VF-1S and upcoming TV VF-1A Max and Kakizaki.

The standalone is the one on the left in my pic above.  That white won't match with the newer TV releases.

So, the original Armored VF-1J was white/gray, the standalone VF-1J was white, and the new Armored VF-1J is a brighter white? Did I get that right? :)

They also released a standalone TV Hikaru VF-1J that's bright white you could look for.

Have DYRL versions of Kakizaki and Jenius be released in the Hi-Metal R line yet (VF-1As)?

I know they were released in the original Hi-Metal line (without super parts?), but have their DYRL versions even been teased in a display yet? I can't remember at this point.

It would be cool if they did.  Most Arcadia reissues have had one.

Preordered one at HLJ and it will be added to my neverending private warehouse.

Good to know. Pre-ordered at HLJ as well. Thank you!
