Hi-Metal R
in Toys
Got my Roy in today, and it's missing a piece.
but I did get the limited stand even though I placed the order after they started shipping. And given the n-y is the company I went through I have no recourse. Well at least it's not a major piece.
Sorry to hear this as well. Why is it that you can't contact NY and return/exchange it though?

Yeah, I'm not crazy about Messer either, but he does make some good points about Hayate. The latter is terribly irresponsible, does whatever he like including going on joyrides in times of war. A lot of the characters are really growing on me (Freyja, Mirage, Makina, Kaname and even some Windermereans) but not Hayate. He is still a bit of an empty slate and has the whole "World bend yourself to me" thing going which I don't like (Basara is different. He was a natural force).
Messer is my favorite character and in my opinion he was completely in the right and let Hayate off lightly. Hayate took a VF out on an unorthodox joyride.
i'm probably the 1% on this forum who's loving Messer.
plus, tsundere flyboys are so hot <3
Looks like I'm in the minority here.
Definitely interested to see how the characters will change (if at all) throughout the series.

This episode made me loathe Messer, and yet I have a feeling there's a backstory we'll probably get to see that justifies his attitude. Until then, I'm really hoping someone lays him out.
Also very curious about Freyja's experience during the war 7 years prior. They've shown a flashback of her standing in front of a burning structure at least twice I believe, and she mentions the war by saying "not again" this episode. Looking forward to seeing her backstory as well.

Episode 5 is out...here we go!
Thanks to everyone involved with these Podcasts. They're truly appreciated.
I've returned to Macross from a long absence and it's great to hear about all the references from earlier series/movies throughout these Delta episodes from those who have been keeping up through the years.

Anyone know where I can get a glaug still?
You can still place a pre-order for the Glaug at MyKombini (13,990Y): http://mykombini.com/en/may-2016/3858-hi-metal-r-glaug-the-super-dimension-fortress-macross-4549660040903.html
Or just keep an eye on the Hobby Link Japan page, as they might have additional stock once they've been released (13,000Y): http://hlj.com/product/BANN04090/Act

That's how it begun with me actually. I'll just buy Hikaru's 1S and 1A with Strike/Super parts in 1/60 scale. Now I have a few of Yamato, a few of Bandai's DX, and so on and so forth.
Good luck on collecting just one line of Macross Valk. And hope that you can stay away from temptations.
Oh yeah, temptation is already at work (looking at the new VF-1S Roy 1/60 and Delta releases). I'm definitely going to be a bit bummed if the HM-R is discontinued after this first wave though.
I know the DYRL VF-1As (Hikaru, Max & Kakizaki) were previously released as Hi-Metal in 2011 or so, but a re-release would be great...in addition to the other one's they've teased.

And you guys are just talking about HM-R releases, right? How about the upcoming DX in between of those couple of months HM-R releases? Hehehe.
Like I said, you guy have been WARNED.
Yeah, just the HM-R releases for me, so I'm hoping they keep them steadily coming.

And remember... your wallet is bound to end like this:
You guys had been WARNED.
I can definitely see this becoming reality if they start releasing my wish list items.
A couple months between releases is probably a good thing now that I think about it.

I know, two months of waiting for info more or less gets me antsy.
That I definitely understand.

RDX17 it seems we get a normal release every 2 months at the end of the month. The preorders have come up at the end of the month between normal releases. So we had the 1a preorder at the end of April with the glaug release at the end of May. The monster I believe is released end of July, so a preorder should pop up end of June if they keep up the pattern. The info on the preorders doesn't seem to have a specific pattern, but it's usually close to the preorder date, within a week or so. There has only been one web exclusive for the hmr line and that hasn't had a pattern yet.
Thanks for the additional information. I just need to keep my anticipation in check now.

More or so. And it varies sometimes. There's no definitive scheduling. Sometimes announcement were made a month or less than a month prior of the preorder date. Sometimes they will show some items in one of their shows months before the preorder date. Some of them will get made, and some of them will not.
But once you've seen the official promotional photos that kinda looks like the recent VF-1A they've shown, then you'll know that they will announce pretty soon the preorder date. Hope that helps.
This is great, thanks so much.
I pre-ordered a Glaug, but decided to skip the Monster and the Brownie, so I'm just trying to get a sense of what & when to expect next.

Reading through posts from the last few weeks, it looks like the VF-1A (Brownie) was officially announced April 19th, followed by the Pre-order on April 28th, with a release date schedule for September.
Being relatively new to this, is this how the prior announcements/pre-orders/releases have been handled as well? A week or so between the announcement and pre-order, with a release scheduled 5 months down the road?
Thanks!

They did send me a notice that there'd be additional charges but they did not follow up on it with an invoice or an amount. They just left me hanging. I know they're reading my tickets but they're refusing to respond. I sent an angry one this morning and they had the audacity to resend the 'preparation in progress email' again but no reply whatsoever to any of my tickets. I know they won't ship the item until they're done fleecing me but what's taking them so long?
Ah, got it. Definitely sounds like they're still having some issues with emails and additional shipping invoices getting out.
Hang in there, I'm sure your Roy will be on its way soon.

No request for addition shipping charges for me (yet). I ordered in late Feb, so shouldn't be getting the stand. Besides, i'm shipping my Roy together with my Regult.
Ah, okay. I don't think you'd be expected to pay additional shipping. Maybe they're focused on sending out the orders that include the stand first, or just those with a Roy?
I don't think it would hurt to send an email asking about your order though, and I'm sure it'll work out.

Anyone else yet to receive their HMR Roy from NY? It's been 10 days since they sent a preparation in progress email.
Same situation for me.....still waiting.....
Did either of you receive the message from NY regarding additional shipping charges? If not, I'd scan through the last few pages here to find out what others experienced.
I believe contacting NY would be in order ASAP.

I wish they just get rid of that useless and fugly "small-wings" crap, and provide the black feet option instead.
I was originally a bit perplexed by the inclusion of the small wings as well, however I've been using the ones included with the VF-1S Strike (Hikaru) on the Armored VF-1J and appreciate them quite a bit. I now wish they'd been included with the Armored VF-1J.

My HM-R Roy 1S arrived today! Everything is packed together in a brown Tamashii shipping box. It's a similar set up to the one used for the DX armor parts releases, where the retail boxes are contained inside the brown box. I'll update this post soon with pictures from my phone.
Thanks for sharing those pictures. Having never ordered from NY it's nice to see how well their packaging is for potential orders in the future.

The commercial shows the box for the Glaug at the end.
I noticed that as well. Good catch.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. Very good to know.

Does this image actually indicate what releases to expect with the Hi Metal R series?
If so, I can check off a few of my wish list items...and add a couple more.

I was wondering about that too. I assumed Heinz's song was causing the Var outbreaks. Maybe it's something in the translation?
