May'n at a Taiwan TV show - Idols Of Asia, sings - Towards the Light (Izetta, the last Witch) and plays some music games!

Nice find. It's amazing she's also learning Chinese. Though it makes sense, it seems every year she's in Singapore for AFA. But I'm not sure how many times she's been to Taiwan.

  2. On the scoopuda thread I said they should get a better writer if it's Delta 2. As an addendum maybe they should also get a better composer. Of all the Macross series it's only Delta that doesn't have that something that really stands out music wise to me. I know it's kind of vague but I'm not that confident of the story getting better so maybe they should also try improving the music.

There's a whole subforum dedicated to where to buy these things, online or at physical stores:

I've already read them it's not that up to date. He will be there next week so it would be nice to know current status and how his hunt for stuff goes.

Any idea on the chances of grabbing one of these off the shelves at retail? Will be in Tokyo next week.

If you get one could you post where you got it? Or any other Macross stuff you might come across. I'll be in Tokyo next month too would appreciate tips on the availability of Macross merchandise. :D

  5. This is a pass for me. For the price I could get 2 or 3 HMR valks and still have some money left. Maybe they should do something like a Kickstarter to get new products/designs going? Obviously there will be people buying this Hikky but they're stuck with SDFM while Bandai gets to release the valks from the latest Macross series. For one I'd want to see their take on something like from Macross Frontier.

I'm not a modeler too, and I was able to assemble these with just a nipper, a knife and glue. Maybe some clothes clips to hold glued parts together to dry. Macro-able eyes and small fingers needed too, the parts could be very small, haha!

Tweezers might also help with the small parts.

  7. What type and brand of top coat did you guys use on your VF31s? If I can find one here locally I might do the same treatment on Mirage's valk (assuming I get to PO one of course.)

It should be interesting to see statistics on those who purchase Macross toys/collectitbles nowadays. I wonder how many would be in the 15 to 20 years category. These valks are rated 15 and up after all. It should also explain the direction Kawamori-san is taking with the anime franchise.

Sorry to hear that you haven't gotten a Messer pre-order yet Graham. Must be all the young and tech-savvy millenials finding ways to exploit the pre-orders while we old farts are stuck hitting F5. >-D

Good to know a lot of folks are older than me hehehe...In several years I'll be in that age bracket, this Macross stuff (and online shopping) is making me consider moving up my 'early' retirement.

On topic I wish Arad was next that gives me more time to save up for Mirage.

  9. I'm ok with Messer being next--the more -31's as a whole they sell, the lower the demand for each successive one---thus easier for me to get Mirage's. :)

Yeah, I hope she's the last one :p

  10. I'm not a Ranka fan but I hope she does better this time. She should focus on music. I feel that when you sing your own songs you can escape being locked in to some anime. I think May'n has done wonderfully (though not so enamored with her latest album), Nakajima should just get some more good songs under her belt.
