I have no idea if that's a thing or not. But I find the idea that NERV has any kind of budget limitations to be pretty hilarious.

It actually comes up several times that they a budget set by the UN and they have to deal with limitations based on it. It's even a plot point in End of Evangelion that the UN didn't approve their budget requests that would have allowed them to rebuild and add new defenses because SEELE was planning to invade and that would have made it harder.

Also, Shia Surprise! time. The RD Eva 01, 00, and 08b IIC went up for pre-order this morning. https://www.tamashiinations.com/product_detail/evangelion/robot_spirits.php

So far you’re the only one to admit giving it a chance. Again I’m really surprised that a new big franchise movie had so little interest that there isn’t even a few people complaining about what could have been better other than the fact that the title was stupid.

even with how much most people weren’t satisfied with the previous Star Wars films, people still went to the new one, and page after page of nitpicking and complaining followed.

I kinda feel bad that very few people cared to see it and the only opinions I’ve seen are from actual movie reviewers.

I figured it seemed fun and I've spent far, far more money on far, far stupider things. Did wait and go to a matinee showing at least.

Same, had a Guy Ritche feel to it with an added glitter bomb. It was fun seeing Rosie Perez kicking tail and Mcgregor played an excellent psychopath. I can see him as Barry in a LA Archer if they ever do one.

Only had two issues, Huntress seemed to be tacted on as a character even though her history was important to the plot and the rather thick layer of toxic masculinity that the main villains showed. I get that was the point, but was a bit too thick for my taste.

The running gag with Huntress and her name and not getting to say it before victims die after calling her something else was hilarious if nothing else.

Did anyone here go to see it? The only comments I’ve seen are in a Batman thread. I just thought it weird that a brand new comic book movie came out and good or bad, no one added to this thread. Maybe the interest was just that low.

I thought it was at least fairly fun, but nothing truly amazing. And the Birds of Prey element only really comes together for the final act of it.

In the same vein, EVA's designer Ikuto Yamashita stated that his approach for the joints of the Metal Build re-design was thinking of mechanical muscles.

If I remember right the idea behind the Metal Builds is that they're the ideal version of what NERV wanted. The MBs are the no budget, sky's the limits designs and the show/movie designs are what results when NERV has to cut back to meet budgetary restrictions.

I don't know if I should be excited because it's a god damn Heurtebize figure or be annoyed because of how chunky they made the legs on the only Heurtebize figure we're ever going to get.

We were on the verge of greatness Kaiyodo; we were this close.

Anyways, I'm officially in love with shin Nigouki in all her unholy Frankensteined glory:

By the look of it using Jet Alone parts to repair Unit 02 extended to using a Jet Alone reactor to power it. Those things sticking out of the backpack look like control rods.

Okay, so I was thinking about trying to check this series out.  Then I happened upon a review article on ep 6, "This Extraordinary Being."  Apparently, this episode has an surprise reveal, that changes the legacy of a major original character from the comic.

Watchmen’s sixth episode, “This Extraordinary Being,” is one of the most explosive episodes of television this year, and it’s all wrapped around one nuclear revelation: Will Reeves, a.k.a. Angela’s grandfather, a.k.a. the mysterious man in the wheelchair, is the superhero known as Hooded Justice. "

So, lemme get this straight.  You (you being the intrepid writers of this new show for HBO) would have us go with you on your premise that one of the very first superheroes--who will have started his vigilante work in the-late-'30's-to-early-'40's America; and who just happens to be black--would have chosen as his "union suit" to do his crimefighting: an outfit with a HOOD and a GODDA*N NOOSE?!?  You shi**in' me?

Nah.  Y'all can miss me wit that bullsh*t.

At first blush, this seems like an attempt at doing something outlandish and nonsensical just for shock value, and to generate clicks/views.  No wonder Alan Moore wants (Hollywood) people to leave his sh*t alone.  <_<

I'll just say that they present it in a way that makes sense, even if at first thought it's awkward as hell. I'd suggest giving it a watch, episode 6 was incredibly satisfying.

  7. I'd probably be far more interested in that Roy VF-4 if it didn't still have those weird, chocolate colored joints and other misc points. Might wait to see if they do the teased Max and Millia versions, I guess.

Well... it's probably best to think of them as being in different cinematic realities.

Terminator 3 and Genisys are basically comedies.  So, they're best viewed with the critical thinking turned off, and just going along for the ride.

Salvation... uhm, it's the one with the Batman actor, and basically the only good thing about it is that it made Terminator 3 look good.

Nevertheless, I quite liked Genisys.  Not because of where the plot eventually ends up, but for all the nods to iconic moments in the previous films and how it usurps our expectations of how those scenes play out, and for the film being aware of the effects of a time loop (the combatants are evolving each time they pass through it), with suggestions that someone from farther in the future is using the time loop itself as a battleground—in the sense that who we thought are the main opponents [Skynet and John Conner] are actually the pawns of someone or something else.

Terminator 3 justifies its existence for the final few minutes with the missiles launching, honestly. Even if most of it is pretty damn dumb. I also loved Genisys and am honestly disappointed that it will never be followed up on. I thought the way it followed up on concepts from The Sarah Connor Chronicles regarding a temporal cold war, timeline shifts changing history dynamically, etc was interesting and really wanted to know what was up with Pops and it being unable, or unwilling, to explain where the hell it came from. On the other hand I'm still pissed about the second trailer for Genisys spoiling the big twist with John.

With how plain the 0083 RDs are I'd rather get an MG kit which would be cheaper, big and more detailed. That's the main reason I couldn't pull the trigger on GP01 and 02.

With how busy I am, RD or MG, both would probably sit in the boxes forever too. LOL!!!

My GP02a being able to actually hold up its shield (with a bit of fiddling) on its own justifies getting it all on its own, to me.

Well, Spider-Man FFH showed us that wiping out half of all life in the universe and then bringing it back five years later is nothing but a minor inconvenience and resulting in a few awkward and humorous situations. No global crisis or pandemonium or anything.

    The Blip. Yep.

May was literally running a big donation drive/support group for helping deal with the depossessed from The Blip. So it had an effect. It's just Spider-man isn't the best place to tell that story. And honestly it's not likely anything but a dedicated movie could explore the concept well in its entirety. It at least gave you the info to fill in blanks on your own, though.
