  1. I generally disagree with kos, but I agree with many opinions in here for both sides . Regardless at the end there is one thing that discourages me from kos in general. You can always say this company did this and that, but remember that most macros stuff comes from a few creators that made this. In some cases like Disney (which I dislike) the corporation owns everything, but in other cases like with shoji kawamori , we have a more direct relationship with the creator of things we like. What we are doing here is really following a designer and his creations. We eagerly wait to see what the next design is and pre order the crap out of it. It may be a company that manufactures the toy, but most of these designs come from this guys head, (I'm sure with some help from Other designers). At the end of the day if companies that have licenses have issues with selling their products , they may loose Interest, but the creators of the stuff we like get shafted as well. Why should kawamori bother to design stuff for his fans , if they are just gonna buy kos that don't compensate him for his work? For me, it's the fact that when you bootleg from creator Owned properties , it discourages the creators from putting all the hard work into making the things they love. As for big companies , I gene really dislike business practices that take advantage of low wage labor , but that's a subject I think should be address by international regulation, not crappy capitalism, where the usually the smaller business loose . It shouldn't be the consumers responsability alone to protect creators .
  2. The issue is that the bootlegs will have the adverse reaction of causing the originals to go up in price, if the original manufacturer has to now deal with losing business to bootlegers. I use to not care about bootleg stuff, until i realized amazon and ebay have become a mayor detriment to medium business catering to collectors and smaller groups in general. to the big companies it may not brake them, but to to other companies , it can cause major damage. I have opted to buy from reputable sources, including movies , books , etc, just cause because I want them to still make stuff. same for book stores and comic stores. (even though though the stuff is more expensive, amazon doesn't allow you to brows through a book the way you can in a real bookstore, or talk to real people) Its tempting to get stuff at cheaper prices, but in the end the quality will probably be crap anyways.
  3. I have been waiting for this for ages. when i finally got the yamato one, i watched my $300 literally dissolve and crumble in my hands a week after I got it. What a piece of crap. I can already feel in my greedy hands the higher quality plastic of this toy. yies , yies yiiiiiiiessssssss. Good job Arcadia
  4. I dint out much attention to the underbelly. I own the evo one , and it's so ugly that it made this one look like a million dollars. Regardless it has clunky parts like the leg joint, were really you could see the joint were big and awckward. But I was willing to overlook because the proportions were much better and frankly it looked mean and cool and the top of the jet mode looked sleek, like it's supposed to.
  5. So I ended up going to this exhibit in Tokyo, wasn't able to take pictures though. Sorry. Saw the macross delta stuff and it looked pretty amazing. The thing that called my attention the most was the vf-2ss though. The hi metal prototype. I have to really say that in at least that prototype they really got some cool looking proportions. Even in its rough state , it blows the 1/60 one away by faaaaaaar. I really hope bandai makes this happen, if they do it will make up for the evolution one. Man, it looked really sleek and really nice in jet and robot form. Aside from this , everything else looked great but it was stuff we've all seen already. All the non macross stuff was ridiculously awesome too. For me the sh figuarts star wars from the new movie coming up. Did look quite striking. Cheers
  6. Duuuude , that's perfect !! Thanks so much fellas!!
  7. Hello I have an 8 day stay in tokyo, and I am wondering if anyone can recommend anything good to do and see related to macross and other toys in the city. I'm already going to cruise by akihabara, but if you know any cool exhibits , museums or company headquarters with cool display collections, I'd super appreciate any recommendations!! Also any specific store names , aside from the main ones people always use on this site. O yeah , I'm also looking for cool Japanese masks!! Thanks in Dx advance!
  8. I'll be dammed. I think I actually got a pre order for this. Won't believe it until it's at my doorstep.

  17. Has anyone made any replacement parts for those shoulders? thanks
  18. I think you could remove it from this section. They have stuff that relates to this thread in the site but it isn't much, I really was looking for general feedback on the store . Thanks much for all the responses though! Btw , I did call during business hours and it just went to voicemail.
  19. I am wondering in particular about the reputability of the store, not a particular item in mind. Maybe I posted on the wrong section. But yeah I am concerned about scams and non responsive online stores after you drop 300 bucks. So I am curious to know if anyone has used them and what they think.
