  1. So the same guy that voices Minmay's uncle? Ok. EDIT: Yeah, I just checked too, Minoru is not listed in the credits of episode 5 and 6. However, the (extra) credits on the ADV release (that plays after Runner) reveal the English voice actor of "Chief Engineer" to be Mike MacRae.
  2. Can anyone read the (Japanese) text in the flash player part on this page? http://www.macross.co.jp/zero/ In Google Chrome latest version, the Japanese text shows up as diamonds with question marks and in Internet Explorer latest version, it shows up as random accented Latin and punctuation marks.
  3. Midichlorians diminishes the force as much as learning about photons diminishes the value happiness we receive from sunlight. Sci-fi comes in different flavors; there is speculative fiction/hard sci-fi e.g. Planetes, then there are works that just have a sci-fi setting and dedicate more to story e.g. Legend of the Galactic Heroes and then there are works that build upon a fictional science. FMA (which is a fantasy) has Alchemy with its own set of laws, Macross has Overtechnology and Robotech has Robotechnology. Star Wars is certainly no hard sci-fi, it focuses more on plot and only on rare occasions such as Midichlorians does it explain the science, specifically the biology, of the galaxy it is set in.
  4. I got to this website http://joysound.com/ex/utasuki/movie/audition/_auditionno_212_detail.htm Yeah, it looks like great fun. My favorites so far You can even do it groups I meant where do you find the karaoke booths in Japan. Nevermind, I just searched. "カラオケJoysound" on Google maps. Easy to spot in Japan since they have have signs, In other countries they are incoporated into pubs, bars and restaurants.
  5. So how does the audition work? Where does one find these karaoke booths in Japan? http://joysound.com/ex/utasuki/movie/video/_mid_1970020669_index.htm
  6. The original Gundam was made in the late 70s before Macross, Nausicaa etc. it is highly regarded for its plot and changed robots in anime from super-heroes to weapons of war. Along with Space Battleship Yamato, it inspired directors like Shoji Kawamori and Hideaki Anno. What did Macross innovate? For the mecha genre, it did have protagonists using mass-produced mecha instead of the superprototype which Amuro used and for anime in general it was certainly animated better than other shows at the time but for plot it wasn't as revolutionary as Tomino's Gundam and Matsumoto's Yamato were. The original Star Trek had bad special effects but it inspired generations to grow up to become engineers and scientists.
  7. Also regarding episode 5, do we know what variant are the black/dark blue Valkyries that appear when Misa tells all Valkyrie squadrons to scramble? Because they only appear in fighter mode. I see. Well, I'm rewatching the original Macross in parallel with Robotech, they gave Chief/Dr. Lang a German accent. I have no idea why he shares the same name as a Nazi German ace, he isn't even a pilot.
  8. DAISUKI, please simulcast this like you have with M3 and ALDNOAH.ZERO. He is busy with both The First and École du Ciel.
  9. Will it premier in December 2015 then? Where did you take that picture?
  10. All the Macross DVDs I have are second hand from CeX, I loved Plus from the moment it loaded in my DVD player. And today, I got carried away on a shopping spree of mecha anime (for the first time I got Gundam on DVD) and I found Robotech: The Macross Saga very cheap. The first volume cost £3.00 but can anyone guess how much the second volume cost?
