$160 for a boxset? And of a film which isnt held in much high regard by some? Are these prices normal for Macross world or do they reflect prices in Japan in general? -
Good job I chose the pay later option on the parts. Since I was planning to buy a 25F and now there's no way im going to pay $40 extra for it. So unless I can find the 25F around the ¥20000 somewhere it is very likely I will cancel my pre order.

Thank you very much for the info. I ordered the YF29 (Isamu variant) from NY a few days ago so as soon as that arrives I'll buy the 25F. The 29 is my first Macross purchase so I have yet to find out what quality merchandise I am buying. I am not sure if these toys costing in excess of $100 are really high quality or if the Japanese toys in general are expensive.

I am new to Macross but I can see that unfortunately it is plagued by the same issues as Star Wars (I.e. canon and continuity issues ). Initially I thought Macrosswas about war and fighter planes but it seems like I have a LOT to learn. May I ask what films and books should I start to read that would ease me into the world of Macross?
