Yeti, the DX Base Pivot is great!
-
If I can make a request, there are many other photographers on MW who's photos would make great wallpapers too. If a new thread is created please make it a general thread.

I am still up and at work, might be hard to get all of the VF-4G into a vertical. I can do a shot like how Xigfrid has his wallpaper setup, nevermind I'll just do an almost top down and you can adjust from there. Something like this.

The 17-55mm f/2.8 is an great lens, that was going to be my next purchase for my 7D, but things went in a slightly different direction. We should keep this on topic, and discuss further in the newly resurrected thread. LOL! Dammit Exo, I saw your post just as I was taking a drink, I almost spit up my drink. -
Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

Haha... I found this thread back when I started taking photos and there was quite a bit that proved very helpful to me and I hope it will help others too. @mickyg I saw your posts from way back.

Yes, I knew you would take up your camera eventually! You've got the background, the eye and awesome resource for photography. If I can make a suggestion, pick up the Canon 50mm 1.8, its an great lens and the best part its cheap ($125 USD). When I had my 7D, I took all my shots with it. Too late I can't unsee the Toynami bag Exo! Great shots of the Regult! VF-18 for a good cheap black background, I went over to a fabric store and bought a yard of 100% Kona Cotton Fabric, probably cost you about $6. -
I am resurrecting this thread (last updated was 2010) because there is large amount of useful tips here for the new gen MW photographers, I myself included. Thank you to all the MW members that contributed to this thread.

HAHA! I am glad you like your phone wallpaper. Thank you for your kind words, mickyg. I am happy to share with MW and other outside of MW forums. I know you'll get up to speed quickly with your photography, your background and the awesome resource you have tells me so. Looking forward to your pics. I used to shoot with a Canon 7D, but a few months ago I upgraded a Canon 5DS. This works on me too. I have had friend ask to take pics of some of their toys (that I don't collect) and after shooting them I want to get one. I have kept control so far.

Thanks you. You're welcome and thank you. Thank you. I agree they do look great together. They are a deadly team up too, the 29 outfitted with long range cannons and the 30 with swarms of missiles. Boxing poster huh? I'll see what I can do, maybe not right now but when I have some time. @abbadon One more. @Spanner here's one for your phone.

I would definitely fit right into the Ultraman series, the closest in appearance would be the Ultra Hawk from Ultra Seven. -

Went to the Boeing Future of Flight Center and took a pic of a display scale model of this lovely bird. North American Avaiation XB-70 Valkyrie Its a Valkyrie so it counts right? -
My mom is cool with my collecting, she was pretty excited when I told her I was getting display cases. Thanks no3ljm! I am with Ozma. I am with you there, Ozma overall best looking. Also I consider it the more sinister looking of the 29. I'll re-shoot it and make some adjustment to lighting. Congrats Jasonc! Glad you were finally able to get it.

Thank you for the kind words seti88, I really appreciate it. That has been the question running through my mind, I would have to say yes I am planning on re-shooting all the Valks again with the CF base. That is partly why the coffee table book project is going to take a while. I have learned quite a bit since starting photography, I am still learning new things, refining the techniques and getting tips from others. Nice! Maybe she likes robots in uniform (especially dark colored uniforms)?

Hi set88. One of the nice things about photographing you purchases you can always look at them, after you put them back into their boxes because you ran out of room to display them. So you should photograph your purchases and post them up. Strobes, nice! I don't have much room for a lot of lighting gear, so I have to get creative. I can't wait to get the Arcadia 0A/0S and most definitely the Reactive Armor to photograph them. Hopefully, I have time so shoot them this weekend, I have some S.H.Monsterart figures a to photograph and I have work. If not I'll get them done next weekend.

Thank you abbadon, and I still need to take a pic of the 29 with the 30 for you. Thank you, glad you like them. Haha... I hear the opening song from DYRL as I open the boxes of my Valks, and various DYRL and Frontier songs as a swoosh them around. Looking forward to seeing your pics. I like to think of it as single minded determination, kinda like a Terminator.
