I'm sure Shawn will re-activate custom titles eventually, he's just got a lot more important things to do for now. Sure, the mods probably thought that earning it might've been a cute idea, but we've all just shown how needlessly complicated that could become.

Sadly, I have yet to see Orguss 02. However, I do remember hearing something about the opening and ending tracks. They are very rare and I heard that they were released only as a single, or that they were only released on that particular artists cd? I'm not exactly sure, as it has been almost ten years.

I have to agree with Shin. If you're on a limited budget, definitely use the 'wait and see' approach. You don't have to worry about missing out on the boat; in the long run, very few of Yamato's products actually appreciate in value.

Actually, many of us love the 1/55's. MW's first year and half online, all we ever talked about were 1/55's. But for right now, Yamato Valkyries are the current "it" Valkyrie.

Valkyrie Development History from Hobby Handbook
TheLoneWolf replied to Aurel Tristen's topic in Movies and TV Series
Amazing work, Nanashi! This should be required reading for all Macross fans. Hmm, no VF-0. -
Part 3. Note that you can see the word "TV" appears several times in the above pic, could mean nothing or everything.

For the interested parties, I flipped through the Flashback 2012 artbook and there wasn't much to be found. Just a lot of screencaps with 2-3 line descriptions, a few pages of line art, and a few more pages with lyrics to Minmay's music. However, there were some interviews with Studio Nue, most importantly with Kawamori. Here's the first page of Kawamori's interview. This book is copyright dated 1987. Again, if anyone needs higher res images, lmk. Part 1 of the interview.

Pretty much. HCM's usually go for $150 and higher.

Nice paint job, was it airbrushed? Also, love those feet.

You can always sell your current VF-1S and put that money aside for the reissue. While you may have to absorb a $10-$20 overall loss, you'll be getting a better Valkyrie. I know it must suck, but I'm glad Yamato went back and fixed the VF-1S' problems.

Hear hear! Sundown for mod! Good stuff, man.

Actually, I've got a copy of that book. I'll peruse through it later for any sort of timeline or explanation and post it here. I'll also skim the Gold Book and Perfect Memory sometime. ewilen, I must commend you on those excellent post. Keep it up

Worst Gaming Platform Ever Made
TheLoneWolf replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
OMG! Someone has the FM-Towns Marty! I was thinking of that console when posting here, but I just couldn't remember the name. Awesome stuff, man. I always wanted to check out that system. You wouldn't happen to have any pics, would you? Also, did WonderDog ever get ported to that system? Just wondering if it had any improvements over the Sega version. -
Alien vs. Predator Movie Next August
TheLoneWolf replied to glane21's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
To be perfectly honest, Max is on to something. But I think the reason we're slamming all these new movies is that the only new movies that get mentioned here are complete crapfests. Dead or Alive the movie? Street Fighter 2 the movie? GI Joe the movie? Either that or we post highly controversial movies, like Reloaded or AOTC. No one bothers to post good solid movies. For example, if I were to start a thread on Cold Harbor, it would zero replies (give yourself a pat on the back if you've heard of this new indie film). -
Good work Deadzone, you shouldn't be too hard on yourself Valkyrie279, can we see some battroid pics? Looks very promising.

Back, here's part 3 of the linear notes. Edit: oops And finally, part 4. If anyone else wants to try translating and needs a clearer image, PM me and I'll send you the uncompressed .tif files.
-
And here's part 2. I had to break them up into sections since the linear notes were just too big for the scanner. I'll post the last two sections later, I gotta run.

Robotech and HG license debates
TheLoneWolf replied to Roy Focker's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Just saw your post in the other forum, AL. I think it's just HG's gambit, just as Sunwards was to Yamato. I don't think anyone (Yamato included) ever thought Sunwards would take off, Yamato just wanted to see what would happen. Same thing with HG and M7 Trash, they probably had little faith in the venture, but wanted to see how Japan would react. In end end. HG and Yamato merely wanted a documented incident that they could cite, should this matter ever be taken to court. Ok, I need some sleep. -
There have been a couple of attempts at a MW IRC channel, the latest by Valkyrie. The thing is, no one ever comes.

Worst Gaming Platform Ever Made
TheLoneWolf replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
There are plenty of craptastic consoles to pick from: the PC FX, 3DO, Jaguar, 32X CDi, etc. But my vote goes for the Virtual Boy. Not a single decent title, and it's the *only* console that would cause you pain (not the mental type). -
Best Gaming Platform of All-Time
TheLoneWolf replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
My vote would go for the x-box. It's the most emulator friendly, meaning you can play all your nes, atari, gameboy, etc, roms on it. It's cheating, I know, but hey. -
Very interesting stuff. The plot thickens even more. Back to the digi-subs then.

Well, here are the linear notes from the 1987 Flashback laserdisc, submitted amicus curie I didn't scan the other side, as all it contained were the lyrics for Minmay's songs. For those who haven't been following the thread, Keith has claimed: However, Keith has failed to submit any sort of documented proof, only relying on heresay and stating "look at the animation." IMO, animation is an unreliable source of information as it is prone to errors (ie: Roy and Hikaru's color-changing heatshields in DYRL, etc). So here's some written proof, dated 1987. Honestly, I can't say for sure if Kawamori had planned for DYRL to be a movie with Macross from the start, or if he decided to do so in 1994 (for which we do have plenty of documentation). Hopefully these linear notes can shed some light on the matter. Oh yeah, I'll also be scanning the linear notes from the 1992 DYRL: Perfect Edition laserdisc linear notes. Since this version of DYRL was the first to incorporate the Flashback footage in the end, there might be some information that could vindicate Keith's statement. Look for these later. Can't you tell I just love these uber-otaku debates. Edit: JsARLIGHT, if you need more clarity, I can send you the original uncompressed scan. I didn't post it since it's a couple of megabytes.
