haha... its cool. ill just send it to you. it isnt like i made the fansubs. i dont deserve any money for it. but i wont be able to send u the fansubs for a week either. i dont have access to my computer. send me a pm and tell me whats the easiest way to send u it to you. okay... after changing things about 5 times here i realize that everyone wants more of a DVD review more than just finding the best quality video. as much as i would love to do that, the problem is that i dont have good enuf resources to tell me which one has the best subs, audio, etc and im not going to buy all the DVDs to compare them all as much as i would like that. also from what ive realize some of the best subs are fansubs and are not even on DVD so that creates another problem. on the top of my head, i already know the best subs for DYRL and MZero are fansubs. So as far as subs go, I cant write a decent review for that right now. im glad everyone is helping out but lets have this thread just be video quality. theres too much trouble to create the best "overall" dvd since people look for different things. some may look for subs, some for audio, etc. So this thread will be video only and ill try to make another thread after this that has the best subs and audio. Also if i can get enuf help and resources i might create another that has the best video/audio/sub overall but i find it confusing to cram all of that into one thread. thanx again guys for helping.

according to the site theres several bootleg version of this. not positive tho. hows the video quailty? The video is alright. More or less the same as Manga's DVD. The subs are almost a direct copy of Manga's IIRC. But I'd just buy the Manga's DVD if I had to choose. didnt manga only make the movie edition?

Those R2 cases are REALLY gorgeous. It's too bad we got stuck with the US stuff. i agree... those covers are sweeeeeet. i need to get my hands on them. anyone want to point me towards the right direction?

those would be nice things to review too if i actually had all the dvds in hand to do actually determine myself but i dont. ill see how i do getting thru this and i might add to it afterwards. chances are i cant get into such details such as clarity, artifacts, etc w/o actually first hand viewing it but i probably can try to cover audio and subs after this.

I currently have a SHE YF-19 that looks to me is from the 1st release from the information I gathered in an old thread and a SHE VF-19 custom. The YF-19 is casted in a yellowish tan resin and my SHE VF-19 custom is casted in a white resin. I would assume the YF-19 yellowish tan resin would have been a better cast since it was from the 1st release. But when comparing the two, the white resin seemed to have a denser, heavier, and stronger feeling to it. My question to those who have multiple SHE kits is which has better quality resin, the tan colored resin or the white resin?

last that i heard, he was at a exhibition. i dont think he'll be back for another week or so.

for the most part, it looks like a lot have seen the chinese subbed version and theyre contributing what they can. i being one of them but understand maybe more than others since i can read minimalistic chinese. some views just might be off since they didnt understand it but oh well, the more the merrier. i dont see how people are being "very harsh"... if they see something they dont like, they dont like it. seems logical to me. i didnt mind it at all. i actually thought it was decent but that obviously depends on my preference of whats good and whats not. as far as other "magic" scenes are concern, imo mao being able to contact shin in the ship seemed pretty magical to me. maybe im just weird, but i dont usually have halographic figures of my friends talking to me when im in need of help. the AFOS looked quite organic to me when Sara was inside. maybe it was just me. i should go watch it again. but i have to say the AFOS imo resembled a proto-devlin so i dont see it as "poo" as you would put it. i dont see how its a "limited" view, just different. im sorry that i dont share your point of view but i dont feel that mine is "limited" either. i dont see why people need to resort to questioning each other intelligence due to their "views". i agree the animation was quite good. the fights were great too. hopefully we can see more macross in the future to further "tune" our views on where all of this heading. meanwhile with all we've got, one guess is as good as another until kawamori can fill us in with the details.

Sharon Apple representation can be percieved in many ways. Sure it could be "magic" but was not as explicit as it was represented in macross 7 imho. I personally did not see the "magic" in Myung's song in the end but if you did, cool with me. I have nothing against that. Plus, i dont see why u would "hate" to tell me that as if its bad news. I never said that either the non magic series of magic was any better than the magic series. All i said was that it seemed to have appealed to difference audiences since they were more or less 15 years apart. the old sdf macross was for one generation and macross 7 was for another. this goes the same for many cartoons that are still continuing or remade today. ie he-man, transformer, teenage mutant ninja turtles, and so on and so forth. theyre just different since they appeal to different people. thats all, no worse, no better. just different. As for those who didnt like it, its all preference. I dont know why u felt like ur the one being offended. For anyone who has percieved Macross to be a hard war story percieved it in that way. No biggie. There are many intepretations and views of one subject. Hard war story could be one of them. I dont see why ur perception is any better than theirs. i dont see why you need question their intelligence and think they need to "wake up" and realize something.

to me, zero looked like the beginning for the magical song attacks and proto-devlins in macross 7 instead of being "zero" to the original sdf macross series. it looks like kawamori is leaving the original sdf macross zentradi stuff behind and going more towards the macross 7 "magic" route. there seems to be two types of macross, one for the old generation and one for the new. the old will be sdf macross and macross plus where theres no "magic" involved and has good ol' missiles to destroy the enemy, zentradies in this case. then theres the macross 7 and macross zero where theres songs used for attacks and the main enemies are proto-devlins. i think macross plus and macross 7 back in 1995 is where things split. something tells me we'll not going to see the "magic" go away anytime soon. im not surprised to see where macross zero headed in episode 5. a lot of the viewers for mzero would be from the "younger crowd" that saw macross 7. so being that its been several years later, the appeal for mzero will to be for the older (age wise) macross 7 fans taht now wants to see cool graphics and intense dogfight scenes. chances are, macross plus was the last of the "non magic" series of macross. another thing i noticed. the really "weird" things didnt really happen till the last episode. maybe by bring back roy and having the vf-0, i think kawamori was hoping that the old sdf macross fans will jump on the "magic" bandwagon after watching mzero. it looks like an attempt to merge the sdf macross generation with the macross 7 generation. just my 2 cents.
