  1. Uh, right I forgot, I think what stopped the Yamato form doing the vf-1d was the impossibility of storing the HS inside hte toy, the vf-0d HS should be simplier but it still work differently from the standard vf-0a-s HS.

  2. I usually just use liquid masking fluid to mask the entire thing and also use it to "glue" the canopy down - on really stubborn fits, I sometimes use a dab of white glue, since its removeable later.

Forgot to ask, what type of masking film do you use? Like micromask or like mr. masking sol?

Micromask usually strip my paintjob, how should I remove it?

  3. You can order replacement hasegawa parts from Rainbow10 too!

    Include this in your order:

HASEGAWA MACROSS *model name* *parts you need*, *quantity*

is there a link on the site about that? I noticed there was one about Tamiya & Bandai parts, but not Hase

No, I asked them, R10 have a BBS section where they will kindly reply your questions, keep it in mind.

  4. Thanks guys. I was wondering, because I tried using just microsol and still got some silvering, and didn't know if it was because I didn't use it with the microset or some other reason. I can see now that I probably didn't have a sufficient coat of future on the model. As for the canopy I didn't think it would any harm just being cautious as I've already lost one canopy.

Anyway, thanks for your help. It is much appreciated :D

Mr. mark setter is all I use, Microset its just vinegar, you need to have a gloss surface to avoid silvering.

Pay attention that microsol can arm acrylics, Don't know why but it happened once.

  5. How do you seal the finished cockpit and canopy before start to paint the fuselage?

I covered the canopy with mr. masking sol and this is good, I also used the same product to temporary glue the canopy but it doesn't work very well.

    Tips from the pros?

  6. Come on, the FLOWER GIRL?! Of all the characters in the series they pick one that IIRC never said a full sentence in the entire series. She just waited like an idiot in a series long running gag to give Basara flowers and always failing until right before the end battle when she threw them to him.

Nor she doesn't even has a name LOL, cute character I like her anyways.

  7. You can paint the model with gloss paints, a glossy surface is required to decal too.

When you have finished and you want a matte look just clear coat the kit with flat clear, gunze, tamiya or testor dullcote will work, there is also a product called flat base that its a compound to mix to a glossy paint to make it flat or semi-gloss.

  8. I saw Macross II and after seeing Macross Plus (loved that one!) I was really dissapointed about this OVA/movie. On the animeondvd site it said that it is a sequel to the original then said it's an alternate universe timeline. So what is it officially, is it cannon and come after the TV series? If so does it happen before or after Plus?

Macross II is approximately 80 years after 2009, Macross plus is in the 2040, Macross II is a non-studio nue story so it isn't canon, Macross 7 its the real SDFM sequel and comes after Macross plus in the timeline.

The last story in the timeline its the videogame Macross VFX-2 (2050) its also canon like M+ and M7.

The videogames Macross M3 and VFX are canon stories too.

  9. You really should invest in some decent plastic cement. Gunze welds the arms on my pilots solidly, and unless you force it on purpose, the arms are not going to fall off from day to day handling.

I ordered some tenax glue form great models a month ago but I'm still emailing them for a trouble in my order(they don't ship it for some unknow reason)...

Do you mean normal mr.cement or mr.cement s? I have mr. cement and its a nice product but I don't really use it for small parts, I know pinning is not required, just wanted to try, ca glue is fine.

  10. Erm... I can't possibly see nedding to pin a figure that small.... there isnt even enouch shoulder material to sit a pin in

Well the arms didn't stay on very well with plastic cement, I don't have a welding type glue, pins and Ca glue worked fine, there is enough plastic for pinning and isn't soo hard to do, It worked very fine for the head, you can have a posable head this way and is easier to paint.

I don't want the arms to fall apart when I will paint and decal or to ruin the paint gluing the arms after.
