Well that was random... she's an actress from the Takarazuka Kagekidan. Kagekidan theater is all female Japanese musical review theater. If you've ever seen Sakura Taisen the main characters of that a part of the Teikoku Kagekidan. So she's a chick... but she's playing to role of a man on stage. Oh ok. Well, ya never know about RT fans.

lord_breetai, What is your avatar? Is that a chick or a guy? Or a transvestite?

well no argument there... they are verry different... but some american cartoons have done well in Japan... the original G1 Transformers for example... was american produced but more popular in Japan then over here... in fact it carried on with Headmasters and then Masterforce and then Victory long after the series ended here. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles... did fairly well in Japan again so much that the Japanese animated their own sequals... anyone seen those TMNT anime? Power Puff Girls... again did well in Japan Simpsons did well in Japan Disney always does will in Japan. Our Children entertainment has proven popular with children in Japan too. Good arguments! You are right, however they were all produced by companies that had a history of success in producing animation. HG has never done this. I mean they didn't even animate RT and they have failed at every single project since.

Ya know... I actually talk to the people at HG..... I feel sorry for you....actualy, no I don't. Me and everyone in Japan laughs at you and Harmony Gold. 1stBRD, Mospedea isn't popular in Japan... Nobody is going to care. I hope HG isn't banking on this. Besides if they make this similar to any other show that created for the US (kiddie), there is no way it will be popular in Japan. Amen to that statement! Right cause you know... never in the history of the world as an animerican cartoon sold in Japan... Or a Japanese made cartoon aimed more at americans... never... nope not ever never. (I can think of quite a few examples of ones that have however). American child's entertainment is totally different than the Japanese Anime culture.

Beautiful, man. That brings a tear to me eye. You've summed Zero up perfectly. Thanks man... I am really into Zero, I want to make sure that everyone gets to see my insight in it.

DT read this: What you may have missed in Macross ZERO. The purpose of the AFOS was to make sure that the Protoculture didn't create another race like the Zjentohlauedy/Meltohlauedy. The purpose of creating humanity was to have a "restart" of culture, as the protoculture ruined their own. Think of the AFOS as like a artifact or symbol that ancient cultures leave behind... Some are just to honor someone, but some are also a reminder of "what NOT to do." We write books about Hitler not to revere him, but to alert future generations of the horrible potential that one man can have. The AFOS just went a step furthur... Instead of teaching us a lesson, it administered a test. that test being a test of 2 questions... 1. Has mankind achieved space travel. if yes go to question #2. 2. Does mankind still wage war (keep in mind the definition of waging war, and having emotion was probably different to the Protoculture... As the wars they were accostomed to for thousands of years involved completely emotionless beings)? If yes destroy all. The second Sarah felt an emotion other than rage, the AFOS thought, "oh, I guess they aren't like my creators were, and they also aren't like the Zjentohlauedy or Meltohlauedy... I guess I should stop killing everything." How does this fit in with the rest of Macross? The Protoculture tested humanity in MZero by leaving the AFOS behind.. This was to ensure that humanity wouldn't make the same mistakes that the Protoculture did, by creating thoughtless emotionless killing machines. Humanity then tested the Zjentohlauedy and Meltohlauedy in the final battle with Bodolza and Laplamez in DYRL (also in SDFM). Some of both sides turned out NOT to be those mindless thoughtless killing machines so they were spared. Humanity tested itself in Macross Plus by almost making the same mistakes the Protoculture did. Think about it... Humans were going to created automated AI systems that would kill without thought.... Just like the Zjentohlauedy, just like the Meltohlauedy and just like the Protodevlin.

Really? I have always been in favor of a pinned thread dedicated to my muscles. Didn't your doctor ever tell you to keep pins away from those implants? The last thing we need is you leaking all over the forums. It IS hard to bleieve that I am THIS perfect. But its real. What about a pinned thread dedicated to "Muscles of A1, yours in thirty days!", complete with detailed how-tos, materials list, and surgeon general's warning? Actually that would be fun. The WM Cheng of FitnessWorld? A place where Lying Fitness Purists gather to reap the rewards bestowed upon them by the god-like A1? Where the Muscly Floating Head espouts ego and information in equal kind? Ah if only Shawn would go for it...

Actually the RT guys like M7 (shocker )... At least I know Yune does, he has more M7 stuff than stuff from any other Macross. Why is such surprise they can like M7.... It isn't a surprise... It was obvious. Robotech was a gutless, sissy, and nutered version of the original works (example being Roy's character: Womanizing badass in Macross, panzy ass 'after school special' role model in Robotech).
-
Well....as much as I hated the novels....I do believe that Robotech can lay claim to 'thinking caps', considering the first novel was published in 1987..... Actually I think the credit goes to Firefox the movie, which happened in 1982. Don't fool yourself. Robotech has never introduced ANYTHING interesting, or new.

HAHAHAHAAAAAA!!! Briliant man.

Where in the f*ck do you see the Tougu-gun (sp?) symbol in that? Its the Mospeada Mars Division triangle thats the basis for this, not the UN Spacy logo. Really Keith, I realise you don't like HG and despise Robotech, but your argument is nonsense. Maybe here? Hopefully this tiny file attachment will work. I just cut out one of the logos and flipped it over, that symbol is three macross kite symbols plain as day. Wow, plain as day obvious... That is so pathetic. RT fans whould hang their heads in shame.

Wow, I am shocked this thread isn't a flame war yet. I voted already.. Touch screens in my district in California.

I think you are SOL man. I haven't seen a torrent for that one for like 8 months. Love the username by the way... Action Jackson is one kick ass movie.

Any Old School Magic The Gathering Player?
Agent ONE replied to Ladic's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I knew some kids in the dorms that played this game. It was WAY to slow for me. Also, I felt like so many people that were really into this game were hardcore dorks, and I was always into some, not necessarily in style stuff. -
No kidding man.
