The ONLY regret in life that I have is not serving my country. I went through MEPS for USMC Officer Candidate School, but the DAY before shipping out I got a job offer, which looked like I would make millions (was a dot com company). I WAS worth millions on paper for a good 6 months, but after it all came crashing down, I had tasted good living enough to shy me away from the Marine Corps permanently... Still though, I often think about how much I would like to be in Iraq right now.

If anything I had to talk him into scaling back his ambitious thoughts into a form we mere mortals could read and understand. I was pushing blog while he was thinking 6 film epic starring the Oak. This IS true.

Pin the Yukikaze Super Thread

I personally don't like pinned super threads because they get so long, you can't find what you are looking for. -

There's two 'p's in stoppable, cheif.... fighting against the easy way of doing things I assume... ROFLMAO!!! I must admit that the first post is great, and the insightfulness is astounding... I completely agree. AWESOME!! Thanks for those spelling catches. Its your job, I expect nothing less. I AM more concerned with crankin the articles out than I am with getting the spelling and gramar right.

In a recent Macross7 thread, Father Jack, promethuem5, and Jin_Kune_Do all agreed that they would like to subscribe to my newsletter as they are interested in my views. Well I didn't have a newsletter, so I decided to start one. Feel free to suggest some subjects for posts! I am currently working on, "how to talk to EXTREEMLY beautiful women" and "why you should shave your nut sack." BY POPULAR DEMAND!!!!!

Ya know. . . it's funny you mention that, that's sorta the way I did consider the Jedi to be before the Prequels. I was sorta suprised to find them all centrally located on Coruscant. . . operating out of a central Police HQ "temple." Sorta too much like the SuperFriends and the Hall of Justice. But again, that was just the impression I had based on what had trickled out over the decades. But which now must bend to the will of the Lucas. But, to be monastic, you don't have to wander. The Great Jedi Temple could be seen as a correlary to a medieval monastary. . . the monks in most monastaries didn't own anything, and attemped to live a life of privation. But they had a roof over their heads, food, and a place to work, pray, and write. Which was their role in society (protecting the local community through prayer, and in turn, the local community supported them with necessities). H The vatican is in rome... At the time it was built Rome was the capital of Earth.

Revenge of the Sith ROCKED! (spoiler free)
Agent ONE replied to 1st Border Red Devil's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The slapstick in Jedi was the problem in general. The slapstick being used to kill a very dangerous (and cool looking) villain was even worse. And, then, the Sarlaac burped. As Irvin Kirshner said about Empire: "I knew we had to have humor, but not gags." That fell by the wayside in Jedi. And Fett's death epitomizes it. 'Nuff said. ... Will you hate your own children? -
Which is odd, because they physically peeled those things off in the book as well. Go figure. In ep 1 Anakin could pilot the pod racer and he used the force to do so... Thats the only reason he could do it at all. Just because it didn't LOOK amazing, I think we are supposed to gather that everything a jedi does somehow encompases the force.
-
The book mentioned that Obi-Wan and Anakin were using the Force to fly their ships. I suppose that they didn't have enough Force left in them to peel those droids off. I thought jedis used the force in everything they did. I also thought they used it to peel off the robots.

This is the best post in this thread. You have great insight DT.

Yet some maintain that the prequels are "teh suck". Even if the third one is indeed good, it won't in my mind make up for the dreck of the first two. (haven't seen it yet, I'm hopeful it won't "teh suck" as much as the other two "teh suck to the nth degree"). YOU suck to the nth degree. I mean that from the bottom of my heart, you really are a chump.
-
I am proud of you, my son. Guys, At least give him credit for defending Sith... Only a few weeks ago he was willing to set himself on fire to prove that the prequels were teh suck.

Carl, that thing is AWESOME!!!

Think we're saving that for the DVD release... No, we aren't But let's just say the DVD will open many doors AgentOne Better than he was before Better... Stronger... Faster,..... .....Uncut?
