On a diffrent note. Did Macross 7 do well in Japan? I don't think it was a huge hit but I had this feeling that they still raked in some cash from the series.

I usually try to show the old TV episodes of Macross to some new audiences and most of the time they were turned off by the outdated and budget rate animation. Although I agree with the others and doubt that the TV series would be re animated I believe it would introduce a new crop of fresh fans for the franchise. The beautiful CG dogfights in M0 or Yukikaze would help a lot and possibly more character development for the other interesting characters such as Max, Kakizaki and Roy. Plus, as suggested by the other posters, tunes by Yoko Kanno and more Minmay songs would be nice too. I honestly believe if Macross SDF was re-animated and turned into a new TV series (with only minor changes to the script) it would become quite popular to new generation of audience. So I vote yes.

80's Japanese pop of the original series/DYRL and the beautiful pieces by Yoko Kanno of Macross plus are the ones stuck to my mind.

But look at all the starving kids in Africa or kids in poor countries who can't even get an grade school education because of lack of money! Donate your toy money there instead!!! (j/k) I agree, "It makes me happy!" is the most honest and justifiable justification IMHO.

Spending money on things such hobbies like toys, video games, collectors items, etc is really difficult to justifiy considering there are other "wiser" ways to invest your hard earned cash. Yet I still go for it, so I won't wont justify mine.

This is my absolute fav! Great work man! Saved it and will stare at it during times of boredom at work.

Back in grade school I had a friend who had this huge beautiful white jetfighter that can transform into a robot. I thought it was the greatest thing ever and he introduced me to the Macross anime. From then on I was pretty much in love with the series

I got one of those as a gift from an auntie back then when I was a kid. But my very first original Macross toy was the Hikaru 1S Joke machine. As most kids would do, I played it to death and one day it just fell apart . I really wished I had taken more care of it, but I was just a kid back then, what could you do?
