  1. Well, stewart has been in a few projects but he hasn't really been given material to really sink his teeth into, imo. He's an amazing actor and I think he and nolan could give mr freeze the sort of nuance and sense of tragedy that is needed to make that character alive.
  2. just make a new thread and make it like the frontier thread where you need to submit the pics to a mod before it gets posted
  3. mr freeze should have a soft presence... he's a guy who does what he does because of tragedy and love.
  4. I have doubts whether Cain and Bale would come back without nolan... or at the very least without a director of comparable talant and a story to match. The again, Bale made reign of Fire...
  5. Singer wrote himself into a hole with that Superkid angle. I liked Returns but I think it's fine to leave it as a one shot, a homage/sequel to Superman I & II. But I agree, trying to go "dark" with a superman reboot sounds like a bad bad idea. For me, superman is an interesting character because of the moral and ethical choices he makes, not just because of all his powers. Here's a guy who could rule the world, instead he chooses to be a servent. That aspect is one of the reasons why I think that having him actually married and in a relationship with Lois was a bad decision. Lois and the unrequited love was a great illustration of how "clark" is denied in order for Superman to exist... his willingness to deny himself and his own happiness/desires in order to serve humanity. I'd love to see a superman movie that resembles Superman For All Seasons. But I know most fans just want to see the big boyscout fly around and smash things.
  6. I'll ask my wife... she did the coatings for Oakley for 8 years.
  7. oh man, I never saw the "sdf-3" before... my god, that thing is NSFW.
  8. nah, make wolverine Japanese, make him an actual ronin, playing off that healing factor/long life.
  9. Didn't that Fight Quest show do an episode on it? It looked pretty intense, all about how not to get killed and kill fast and a lot of 1 versus a group type fights, it was pretty interesting. When one of the guys hit the mat, all the other fighters jumped in and started kicking and hitting the poo out of him... the lesson, don't fall down in a street fight.
  10. It's pretty definitely an f-14, even has the little pop out winglets... i'm sure Dave can provide the proper name for them.
  11. wow, cool find.
  12. so that little tab is getting stuck between the two parts of the hinge and breaking that little bracket off, is that it?
  13. Looks like transformation via part swaps to me. Not only does it have the part line at the chest, but the nose/fuselage also has part lines and the feet look to be articulated at the ankle. My guess is the whole backpack pops off and a folded one pops on, same with the canopy/heatshield.
  14. don't forget the great yamato versus toynami debates! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!
  15. he did that when he figured out which cop was likely to have been turned by the Joker. And it was implied that Bruce also figured out the mob/HK connection as well and that was why he brought evil chinese man over to gotham in the first place.
  16. i'm sorry but Bane sucks, he's a walking plot device. That whole story arc was so contrived and everything they've done since that original story has just made Bane almost as much of crutch as Doomsday.
  17. lineart isn't all that consistent... pg 36 of design works shows the detached fuselage and it looks a lot like the hasegawa in terms of proportions. But the VT-1 lineart on pg 42 makes it look a lot more like the ver 2 1/60...
  18. uhm... that canopy is just way too big... the ver 2 1/60 2 seater canopy is too short but that monster is equally wrong, imo.

    yf-21 or vf-0a

Go with the 21... the arms come off on purpose.
  20. I agree that the Tales/KOTOR stuff is much more interesting than the post ROTJ stuff. Too much of the post ROTJ stuff gets bogged down by the whole "a new threat even more devestating than thr death star!" over and over again and this latest wave of "a new military threat even more devestating than the empire!" isn't much better. I have no idea if this making Jacen the new big bad Sith is interesting or well written... but it just smacks of fanfic to me.
  21. No, you're just choosing to ignore how preposterous the idea is or re-imagining it to seem more interesting than it actually is. Every character write up on Thrawn states that he studies art to understand the psychology of entire planets, not just individuals. It wasn't just used once for a specific species, it was illustrated once as a proof of concept. Thrawn himself talks about how art gives insight into entire species. mortality and cloning has been explored in SW, the Dark Empire comics had palpatine cloning himself and using the force to reinhabit his body... twice. Zahn had dead people coming back in his books as well. This is a crutch, you make characters immortal so you never have to deal with any real repurcussions of characters actions... why explore what could happen with any sort of intelligence when you can just say, "ta-da! palpatine is back!"? At least in the Dune books, Herbert actually explored what would happen to a rip van winkle type character... the SW books just use technology as a plot device.
  22. nah, there's a clone that Luke and Mara manage to drown/kill before it's decanted.
  23. It has been done before, but in this case there are way too many similarities. Do a wiki search on Chapter House Dune and you'll just how similar the plot points are.
  24. Only Chapter House Dune was published in 1985... nearly ten years before TF G2.
