  1. I still have the demo disc that came with my Playstation that had the MGS demo on it that I got for Christmas. Played the hell out of it as well as the full game. Good times. I still would love to see a modern day remake of MGS or any of the previous titles.
  2. I'm glad to see that they brought back the original plasma gun design as well as designs for the zombie troopers and the Arch-Vile. Doom Eternal looks like a day 1 buy for me. Also the arrival of Doomguy (I can't call him the Slayer) on Phobos was priceless.
  3. Yeah. The 2040C was crazy and this just takes the airframe alittle further. Personally, I'm just looking forward now to Northrop's 6th gen YF-X.
  4. Some interesting footage from RIAT. Not a bad showing by the F-35.
  5. True but doesn't the Draken/Viggen and Gripen have sturdier landing gears to do that on a regular basis compared to an F-16 or Tornado? The Viggen also benefited from it's STOL capability.
  6. Interesting news story from the 80s on a portion of the Autobahn being converted into a runway for NATO aircraft.
  7. Can't help but be curious if the F-14 had gotten the software upgrade to carry AIM-120s if similar systems would have been made to test how many AMRAAMS the Tomcat could carry.
  8. Doesn't the AIM-120 have to drop off the rail initially before the rocket motor ignites? I know the Jaguar could mount Sidewinders ontop the wing. Not sure the AMRAAM can fire right off the rail as the AIM-9. It would be interesting to see the AMRAAM get a long range conversion kit involving a 1st-stage booster. Only downside is it all but certain would have to be carried externally for aircraft like the F-22 and F-35.
  9. As I recall reading, the composite wings were a double-edged sword as they increased fatigue on the airframes of an already very old aircraft. I would have only favored keeping the Intruder in service if the Navy had purchased the A-6F Intruder II. The F404 engines would have provided a reasonable power bump and increased loiter time.
  10. http://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/21755/f-15sa-bristles-with-a-dozen-aim-120s-missiles-during-star-wars-canyon-run Them SPAMRAAMs.
  11. A gameplay trailer. The zombies actually look pretty formidable and I can see how things can go down fast if your attacked by more than 2.
  12. The only perk about the original control scheme and preset layouts for me was that it put you in a much more detailed environment. From what they've shown so far in gameplay, the RE4 controls make the game no less challenging. I'm intrigued they changed just enough to make them game less predictable. I'm not going to go around every corner knowing exactly what I'm going to encounter because of the original game. I love RE2. I just want more than a graphically upgraded clone. I do have certain nitpicks with some design choices. Not a fan of Claire's new look. They changed her hair color and removed her signature knife.
  13. It would be nice to see some actual Mig's and or Su's in the movie seeing how accessible they are now. Get some Super Hornet vs. Flanker dogfights.
  14. I just think the Navy could benefit from a new Heavy class fighter not unlike what was proposed for the ASF or even the navalized F-22. Something with greater speed, payload capacity and loiter time than the F-35C. A new ASW platform I'd agree is a no-brainer as the SH-60 is just not sufficient and you can't exactly land a P-3 onto a carrier flightdeck.
  15. Good points but this is more about being prepared for threats for the next 10 - 15 if not 20 years. A fleet defender may not have to directly protect the fleet but protect key asset's (AWACS and tanker's) operating in the airspace vulnerable to newer threats like the J-20 and Su-35.
  16. It'll need to happen sooner or later. Perhaps something really does come from Japan wanting an "F-22/F-35 hybrid" and what we really get is a Raptor with the APG-81 and many other JSF systems with Japan footing the bill. The F-15E does a great job but the AF still lacks a good interdiction/medium bomber aircraft since retiring the F-111. The Navy has a bigger problem on it's hands as the Super Hornet and F-35C struggle in a number of crucial areas that may be exploited by potential future adversaries. Namely lack of range and loiter time. Area's the F-14 excelled in. I hope the Navy really takes a serious look at a future Fleet Defender aircraft.
  17. Someone drew up some concept art of what a production F-32 may have looked like. I honestly like it. It looks like the A-7 brought into the 5th generation.
  18. Someone at Boeing wants to turn the Bone into a loitering gunship. You can hear the faint sound of collective facepalming by AC-130 and A-10 pilots. http://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/20782/boeings-been-granted-a-patent-for-turning-the-b-1b-into-a-gunship-bristling-with-cannons
  19. I like alot of Matsimus' videos and he finally did one on the F-14.
