This.
The laser seeker is there so the bomb can track moving targets in addition to being able to hit all-weather stationary targets in GPS mode.
BTW, I wonder if it would be possible to carry two of those pods with one on each wing instead of just the single center line pod.
Two of those pods would be interesting but I like the idea of stealthy JDAMs to cut down on weight and drag brought on by the pods. The Enhanced Super Hornet is supposed to get improved engines.
Looks like it will still carry a pair of AIM-9Xs on the wingtips. Not sure how much those will compromise the reduced radar cross section.

A pic highlighting the loadout options for the Enhanced Super Hornet.

It's nice to see the EA-6 still around. Was always a fan of the Intruder and Prowler. I still wish that they could have applied some of the upgrades from the A-6F onto the Prowler, IE replacing the outdated J52s with F404s.

Can pretty much thank the NSA on losing the 4.5bil contract.
What are the differences between the Gripen C and the E/F though?

I wasn't very familiar with him but it's deeply saddening to hear about someone who was part of this community pass. R.I.P sir.

What's your budget? I was looking into this for a friend awhile back, and we pretty much concluded that AMD is better under $200, Nvidia is better over $200.
It's funny cause I'm trying to stay in that $200 area for a GPU.

In looking at my GPU choices for my build, I've been getting different opinions between nvidia and AMD. I'm a fan of DCS and flight sims in general, and alot of folks from that community have told me to steer towards nvidia over amd while folks playing BF3 and 4 seem to like AMD. Right now, I'm caught looking at the GTX 660 and the R9 270X (which is just a rebranded 7870 from what I've read); both priced around the same. Are there certain types of games nvidia chips perform better with and vice versa? Sorry to ask such a silly question.

I'm still waiting for Subaru/Toyota to finally make a more beastly version with a turbo or supercharger. Something making around 250 would be nice.

Extended trailer for Deja Vu. Looks like no David Hayter voicing classic Snake.

I recall reading a story of someone buying a PS3 on launch day, taking out into the parking lot and smashing it with a sledge.

Shadow, I would second technoblue recommendation on a SSD+HDD combo. If there's one thing that will slow you down, it's the HDD. Putting your OS and primary apps on a SSD would dramatically improve performance. I'm using hybrid drives and they literally are the middle ground. But I see hybrid drives more as a solution for laptops. There are people out there that live out of their laptops (they're laptop is their primary PC) so having that speed improvement over a conventional HDD without too much sacrifice on price/storage like a SSD is great. Considering this is a desktop, I would look at the scenario of SSD+HDD. But if you don't want to pay for that I'd consider a hybrid drive. But if you're happy or don't want to pay, then stick with a single HDD.
Would two HDD, one a standard like a WD Blue and the other a WD Black, work in this case aswell? Trying to stay in a certain price range but the SSD+HDD does sound like a good idea in this case. I was also just thinking using a higher performance HDD for games and a regular for the OS and standard apps.

I was original debating on opting for a Geforce GTX 660Ti till I saw the MSI R9 270X which from what I understand is pretty new but it was priced $50 cheaper. People were claiming they could run BF4 on High settings with the 270X no problem. Yeah, I'm opting for a mid-range for now, see how it turns out.
I'll keep my eye open for any deals on memory this upcoming black friday.

What I'm eyeing for my first build.
Antec ATX Mid Tower Case
ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 motherboard
MSI R9 270X 2G Radeon 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 CrossfireX Video card
Intel Core i5 3570K or 4560 (both are priced the same) I'm not sure of the big differences between the Ivy Bridge and Haswell processors.
Thermaltake TR2 Power Supply
8GB HyperX Blu Memory
WD 1TB HDD
DVD-RW and CD-RW Drives (Taken from previous computer)
Windows 7 Home Premium

"Imagines a 2000 lb JDAM dropped at Mach 4+."
I wonder how this will affect Russian and Chinese air defense thinking if the SR-72 becomes a physical reality. Imagine the Russians will continue to evolve their long range S-300/400 missile family.

See you in 3 years
Not sure it'll be that long. I'll probably cave and pick one up much sooner than that. If MGS5 turns out to be a real great title, I'll certainly be interested in seeing the uprated PS4 version. I don't know what it is, console gaming has just been losing its magic for me since the PS2.
-
I'll be waiting for the price to drop and for games I really want to play to be released (crosses fingers for The Last Guardian and ZOE 3) before finally picking up a PS4. My PC build is really my next big electronic investment.

The real question is, what military application would such an aircraft serve since satellite technology has advanced such a great deal, we don't need a high speed reconnaissance jet. A fast deep strike aircraft as they described I guess would be possible. Might have to give it the A designation over SR however.

Been playing alittle too much War Thunder and am in a WW2 plane mood. Still one of my favorites.

The allies were fortunate Hitler had such an ego and rivalry with Stalin. It would have been so much harder to take anything back if the German's were just focused on England and defending their Western front.

Gundam Zeonic Front is another one I have that have wanted to replay. Some of those missions I remember were an incredible pain, especially the simulations.

I've found myself revisiting alot of older PS2 titles that I haven't played in a long time or at all. Recently picked up Silent Hill 2 and Oni. Oni is an interesting title that with more polish and better controls, would have been a real gem for the PS2 imho. I'm also now curious about revisiting Final Fantasy X. Haven't played it since 2003.

Finished Beyond Two Souls. Amazing game.
I'm really not a fan of quick time events as I found when playing the demo. Does the games story help to get past this element of gameplay and make it worth checking out?

While I doubt it will ever happen, a strike variant of the Raptor would be sweet as I could see the larger frame being able to carry those external pods while still carrying a payload in its internal bays.
