  1. Agreed. I don't mind the idea of Takara/Hasbro making Transformers licensed vehicles again... heck, I don't even mind if they put them in their own, more expensive line with complicated transformations and hindered poseability. What I don't care for is the notion that they've all got to be licensed cars. Especially since we did that already with Binaltech/Alternators. I'm lacking enthusiasm for the same thing, only smaller.
  2. I really want to, but I can't find a beta key short of pre-ordering the game, and I don't want to preorder the game because I've never played an MMO that I liked.
  3. Plenty of Mobile Suits had alt modes. Most of them looked doofy in their alt mode (ala Wing Gundam), and some of them looked doofy in their MS mode (Gaza-C). Off the top of my head, Zeta Gundam is the only one that really pulled off both modes. Kyrios and Arios comes close.
  4. You'll get no arguments from me. But I guess my point is that I've played them all since 2 (except the GBA and iPhone Ace Combat games), and I really enjoyed them all. So I'm looking forward to the new PSP game instead of complaining about how they're all the same.
  5. Because we care more about flying in tunnels and attacking super weapons than story.
  6. New Ace Combat coming to PSP Not the PS3 Ace Combat some of you guys have been hoping for, but since a lot of us have PSPs for the Macross games (among others), it should still be a welcome announcement.
  7. Any advice for someone who spilled a glass of Pepsi on his good Microsoft keyboard? At first, it seemed like it was ok, but the space bar abruptly stopped working, and whenever you hit the "S" key you'd get "2s3d". I'm not real pleased with this development, as the only other keyboard I have handy is a cheaper Logitech one.
  8. Nice find! Shockwave was one of the better G1 toys, with pretty good articulation at the time. I'm pleased that I finally found Bludgeon today at Walmart after looking yesterday for him at Target and Toys R' Us. EDIT: While not perfect, Bludgeon is all kinds of awesome. The transformation is pretty good, with only a little back kibble, and he's pretty poseable. Snapping his weapons into his fists reminds me of my old Playmates Ninja Turtle figures. Playing with Bludgeon is a little bittersweet, though, because in the back of mind mind I keep thinking how much more awesome Galvatron would have been if they'd made him at least a Voyager with some ratcheting joints. Hey Hasbro, how about this... if it turns into a tank, its gotta be a Voyager or larger from now on. Deluxe tanks (Classics/Universe Megatron and Galvatron, or movie Brawl) don't work so well.
  9. For me, I loved the Gundam Battle games, so if this is the next "sequel," then I'm going to be interested no matter what. I'm not really interested in seeing the AU and the UC mixed either (ala Gundam Vs. Gundam Next+), but I don't mind them in their own campaigns. If SEED and 00 have their own campaigns, and if Assault Survive is anything like the previous Battle games, you'll likely have to finish all of the campaigns with the MS from that series until you finish all the campaigns. My only real complaint is that I'm tired of them adding one official UC campaign to each sequel... just get it over with and make one Gundam Battle game with campaigns for all of it already.
  10. How did we miss this? Gundam Assault Survive While "Battle" has been dropped from the title and the HUD has changed this is supposedly an Artdink-developed game in the Gundam Battle series. Famitsu specifically mentions 00, SEED, F91, and Victory, but MS from original Gundam and Zeta are in the screenshots. Also, if I'm understanding a Famitsu scan correctly, it looks like you get two partners now. Game's due for release March 18th in Japan. EDIT: The Official Site is up. And at the top, it looks like there's campaigns for 0079, 0083, 0087, 0093, 0088, 0123, SEED, 00, and Extra. All the Victory MS look like they're from the "Extra" campaign, which means we have to wait another year for a sequel that rehashes most of this game but adds a proper campaigns for Unicorn, Victory, Wing, X, and extra missions from Turn A and G.
  11. After three weeks of waiting from the time I got the shipping notice, I finally got my copy of Gundam Battle Universe from PlayAsia. Now, it's the Gundam 30th Anniversary PSP the Best version. It really doesn't blend well with the rest of my PSP collection. Does anyone have a decent scan of the regular-edition cover (front, back, and spine)? I was kind of hoping to print up a new cover, and maybe replace the Japanese text on the spine with English. A scan of Macross Ultimate Frontier would be nice, too. It doesn't clash the way GBU does, but I'd still like to print a new cover for it with English text on the spine. It's all about consistency for me. That, or OCD.
  12. Not to sound critical of Darksiders, as I have a feeling that I'll be picking that up next, but no. Looking at GameRankings, as of Wednesday night, the averages are: Bayonetta (360) 91.67 Darksiders (360) 86.35 Bayonetta (PS3) 87.92 Darksiders (PS3) 87.52 On Metacritic, also Wednesday night: Bayonetta (360) 93 Darksiders (360) 85 Bayonetta (PS3) 89 Darksiders (PS3) 86 On either console, Bayonetta's ahead, even if barely on the PS3. It seems that Bayonetta would enjoy a bigger lead, except that it sounds like the PS3 version had some pretty serious technical issues. (On the flipside, it looks like the PS3 version of Darksiders is the one to get.) Oh, I'm really not ruling it out. Thing is, for me anyway, I remember enjoying DMC, skipped DMC2, enjoyed DMC3, but absolutely loved DMC4. I don't know if it was just because there wasn't a lot else to play at the time, or if it was better than I expected, and it's all just fond memories, but I really thought that DMC4 was the best of the series. As for Bayonetta, I'm really not that far into it. I just earned the ability to buy Onyx Roses from the Gates of Hell, but I'm lacking the halos. Like I said, I still feel like I'm mostly button mashing at this point, but after I get a few weapons and skills, I might feel differently.
  13. I picked it up. The game is VERY Devil May Cry, which isn't a bad thing since I really enjoyed that series. It's a little chaotic, though... the camera angles make it difficult to follow, and even though the reviewers have talked about how deep the combat can be, I can't shake the feeling that I'm just button mashing. I guess, to summarize, I like it, but not as much as I liked DMC4. But I'm still just getting into it. I got the Mega Man: Official Complete Works artbook in the mail the other day, which gave me an urge to play Mega Man. I got sort of side tracked replaying the old Gameboy Mega Man games...
  14. "I hate everything! New stuff sucks! Nothing is better than old stuff! My childhood is raped!" *goes to Fandango to preorder tickets*
  15. Maybe it's a California/West Coast thing? I swung by Marhsall's today here in snowy PA, and the only Transformers they had were a handful of Universe Legends and a solitary Animated Lugnut.
  16. MMOCW arrived today. I don't really have a problem with Udon having split the original book into two; there's clearly enough material for it, and they're closer in size to the Mega Man Zero Official Complete Works book. Amusingly, Mega Man X and Vile are both on the cover of the MMOCW book, almost as a reminder for me to get the other one. MMOCW is a fantastic book, so I'm definitely going to order MMXOCW on payday (I'd do it now, but I just had to buy a new battery for my car).
  17. I preordered the Mega Man: Official Complete Works book back in September. It kept getting delayed, so I decided to hold of on Mega Man X until Mega Man arrives. According to Amazon, it should be here by the 7th.
  18. You mean in the US? I work right next to a Marshall's; I should check it out on my lunch or something. I really wanted Dragstrip, but didn't feel like buying just him online.
  19. Dragon Age Retail Expansion coming in March? If true, this is better than more DLC.
  20. Went to Wal-Mart this evening to try to find Bludgeon. Still no dice, but they finally put their exclusive Powerglide repaint on clearance for $15. Much as I don't care for the mold, I bought one anyway. He's big, top-heavy, and has a ton of back kibble, but at least this one you recognize instantly as Powerglide.
  21. Bummer. That seems to be how it goes, though... my wife and I have been looking for a long time, and it seems like every time we actually have a realtor show us one, we find something wrong with it that's a total dealbreaker.
  22. Didn't get the car or the laptop, but I did wind up buying myself the phone. Oh, and the wife got me a Snuggie. Life is good.
  23. I really hope not. FFVII was a mediocre RPG with an incomprehensible plot famous for its bishounen villain killing a girl I never had in my party anyway (I took Tifa with me on the Golden Saucer date) and CGI cutscenes that were impressive at the time. I'd be much more interested in Kingdom Hearts 3.
  24. Or how about when you bought Transformers, and they came with those huge fold-out sheets that had a checklist with every Autobot figure on one side, and every Decepticon figure on the back? I swear I spent as much time looking at those and longing for the toys I wanted as I did playing with the toys I had. Compare that to today, and all you get is an "also available" on the side of the box with pics of two other guys. Not the same.
