I don't remember the exact phrasing, but it was definitely hostile. It resulted in a loss of loyalty for me, but From what I've read, it is possible to handle the situation in a way that neither will drop in loyalty.

Well, in regards to Quarians and Geth,
-
Probably. Even though I bought the PC version and sold my Xbox version, I never replayed the first ME until now. So, I haven't actually played Mass Effect since it first came out. I'm sure there's a ton of stuff I forgot, but since I played through ME2 as a renegade I figure I play through the first as a Paragon, then replay the second as a Paragon with the ME1 save some time before ME3.

Thanks, works fine.

All the little details the writers stuck in the games are really starting to amaze me. They really create a sense of a living, breathing universe. I mean, when I was on the Citadel in Mass Effect 2, I hit that blue advertisement box. The ad I got was for an all-Elcor production of Hamlet. The ad was amusing, but when I finished ME2 I decided to go back and replay the first game to make a Paragon Shepard. As I'm running around completing Citadel quests, what should I hear on the news during an elevator ride but an announcement that one Kitt was going to put together an all-Elcor production of Hamlet. Something else I didn't realize was that Nassana Dantius, , had a minor role in the first game as well. She's sitting in the bar by the Embassy, and IIRC she gives you a side quest at some point.

More or less. If there is any conceivable way they can argue that the issue isn't their fault, whether it's misuse, neglect, or accidental damage on the owner's part, or "normal wear and tear," manufacturers will do everything in their power not to pay. -
That's cool. I'm hoping that the DLC will be better than what was offered for the first ME or Dragon Age. I got Bringing Down the Sky when I picked up ME for PC, and I got The Stone Prisoner for DA because it was free, but I've yet to actually pay for any DLC for either game because it just doesn't seem worth it.

Nope. But that might have had something to do with the fact that I was playing without importing a save. I guess canon Shep didn't have a relationship? Something else I just realized... the game let me set key configurations for a vehicle, but I never drove any vehicle. Did any of you?

Ditto. As for my choices, Ah, I'm not the only one reading the novels then. You might be interested to know that the third one comes out in July, if you weren't already aware.

So who did you pick for the different party splits? Garrus bit it for me.

FURIOUS OVER NEW CONAN (Conan the Barbarian remake)
mikeszekely replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah, I liked the Rock in the Rundown and the Scorpion King. I think he'd be a perfect Conan (not far from his Scorpion King role). Somehow he got suckered into crappy "family" movies lately... The Game Plan, Race to Witch Mountain, and now Tooth Fairy. Yeesh. -

Over a year ago, I bought a DFI Lanparty Dark P35 motherboard for $80, and a GeForce 9800GTX+ for $200. Cheapest SLI-compatible mobo I could find at the time was at least $40 more, and while you could certainly find cheaper video cards, I don't think you'd have an easy time finding a pair of cards worth combining for less at the time. Now, this setup has done very well for me. To date, I can run 95% of the games being released at the absolute highest settings even now (like Mass Effect 2 and Star Trek Online). Usually games that I can't require me to limit dynamic lights or go from 16xAA to 8xAA. Crysis is still the only game I've played that actually forced me to drop texture quality. I'm thinking that by the time my single-card solution really starts to fail me, the whole box is going to get retired in favor of a new Core i7-centered build. My long-winded point would be that, yes dual-card solutions aren't always that much more than single-card ones, but as long as single-PCIex16-packing mobos are cheaper than multiple, a clear dual-card price/performance advantage doesn't really exist. -

Well did you at least like the cartoon, A1? -

Maybe. I'm just using my computers onboard sound (which is a perfectly good 5.1 chipset). In any case, did you look at the link I included before? I took another look myself, and I think you might want to try Deluge. The basic look is modeled off of utorrrent and it has a lot of the same features, plus it supports a plugin system. -

Yeah, Conan the Adventurer was good. Conan and the Young Warriors not so much. -

I understand that. And therein lies the problem. What kind of market is there for such a hybrid? A dedicated e-reader has better battery life, is easier on the eyes, and can be read in direct sunlight. A netbook has a hardware keyboard, your choice of browsers that support flash, have more storage, and you can upload your files on them without syncing them to another computer. You can have one of each for $100 more than an iPad, or if you're really concerned about consolidating devices, there is e-reader software available for just about every smartphone OS out there, including a Kindle app for the iPhone/iPod touch a lot of people already have. For that matter, there's plenty of e-reader software for netbooks. I don't know, maybe if the iPad were cheaper, or if it ran Snow Leopard instead of iPhone OS, I'd feel differently. But for now, I just can't figure out what sort of audience Apple is going for on this one. -

Exactly. I mean, I'm not the biggest Apple fan (only Apple product I own is a MacBook that I'd actually like to sell), but I'll admit they have a knack for changing the game. The iPod + iTunes defined what an mp3 player should be. And for all its flaws, the iPhone took smartphones from being chunky business devices with lots of buttons and made them mainstream appealing. The idea that the iPad was going to be an over-sized iPod touch was considered, but I think people were still hoping for another game-changer. That maybe the iPad would be a thin Apple netbook/tablet PC-hybrid running OS X, or that it'd be the definitive ebook reader. And that, in either scenario, it would be priced competitively. But netbooks are more capable, and e-readers like Sony's, the Kindle, or the Nook have better battery life, can be read in more different types of lighting, and don't cause the same eyestrain. And the real kicker, either device averages around $200 less. Hell, an iPod touch is $200 less for the same specs (aside from a smaller screen), and I'd guess that after Apple releases an iPhone 3.2 update it'll do everything the iPad does. -

Are you using a current version? I have no issues with utorrent, and I've been running Windows 7 since August. Regardless, you can always pick one from a Lifehacker Hive Five. -

I don't think they meant that Conan should be scholarly, learned, or have an opinion on the social issues of the day. I think they meant that Conan should be street smart and clever rather than "Conan smash!" -
So what was the other stuff again? I played through the first ME on the 360. Bought it later for PC, but never played through it, so I didn't have a save file to import and I just started a new character fresh. Extra levels might have helped me , but money doesn't seem to be an issue (I've bought almost everything from every vendor on Omega and currently have some 77,000 credits. Extra resources don't seem really necessary either. Just fly to a few planets, scan them for resources, and launch a few probes. I've researched most of the upgrades available to me so far and after checking out all the planets in the Omega nebula, the only resource below 10,000 for me is Element Zero. The only missions I've done are in the Omega nebula.

What David was referring to, ScreamMan, is that in the first Mass Effect, if you wore a helmet, it would appear to have been removed during dialogue automatically. In Mass Effect 2, if you're wearing a helmet, the helmet stays on until you manually remove it. I magically took drank a drink through mine. But David, while I don't doubt your ability to skip dialogue on the Xbox 360 version, I have yet to find a way to skip it on PC. Right or left mouse, space bar, F, Escape, Enter... all useless.
